From AzureWolf's friend:
just something i noticed, .hack//sign volumes:
..volume 1: Log-in
..volume 2: Outcast
..volume 3: Gestalt
..volume 4: Omnipotence

if volume 5 starts with a U and volume 6 starts with a T it spells...
LOGOUT.

Which i think is going to happen, unless its just coincidence.

pretty cool i think
I agree, buddy, and that's pretty clever, IMO. That certainly would be cool if it turns out to be right. Alright, so that's not exactly a DVD easter egg, but has anyone found any? Haha, do you think there are any at all?

Keep in mind this is only in reference to LIMINALITY and SIGN. No video game stuff! :p

Hm.. Maybe they think kids spend too much time on the net.. So they're trying to tell us to LOGOUT!!! *gasp* NEVER!!! *erases the DVD titles of the cover and side of the case*

But, a couple questions regarding .hack titles.. What is "gestalt" and what the heck is a "liminality"!? NOT EVEN MY OXFORD DICTIONARY HAS IT!!!
Terminus
is the Latin noun for "end." Basically, it's the root of
terminal and terminate
, although I really don't see much of a reason to keep spoiler tags on these... I'm pretty sure the word is in english too. In this case, it means the end, like the end of a long trek. Stuff like that.

EDIT: Oh, and thanks a lot for finding this stuff out, K.K.C.! Awesome, my friend will be happy that he was right.

Heh, but what's liminality?

My friends and I think it's some form of "limits" or a root word of something like that, but we are not sure...

But until then..

*"Liminality" the song starts playing*

I will be there seeking for Liminality
I will be there just because I want to...

I forgot the rest, and that second line alone was way off.. -_-

Your not too far off. Liminality is basically the condition signifying that you are on a threshold... but a threshold to what i wonder?

some related words are multiliminal (having many thresholds) and subliminal (below normal thresholds, think TV advertisments)

Liminality: My idea

Base Word: Liminal
Defenition: Of or relating to a sensory threshold
Suffix: -ity
Defenition: Quality: State: Degree

My read: Liminality is a term used to describe the level of one's limit when relating to the "sensory threshold." Also, it is the point at which sensory overload will occur.

Relation to DVD series: Liminality referes to the sersory overload that sends people into comas. Although they claim it to be impossible in the series, a strobe effect can induce seizures (much like Mr. Tokuoka experience in Vol. 1) which may result in loss of consciousness and even a coma-like state.

That is how I see it.

Haha, I found an easter egg! A true to life, actual, no-bull easter egg! Yesss! ::holds fist in triumph::

Anyway, I found this easter egg in the .hack//LIMINALITY: In the Case of Yuki Aihara (the one that comes with MUTATION). Go to the "Data" menu, and then put the arrow on the character art gallery. Don't click into it. Instead, press right, and the arrow should disappear. Now click, and you will be taken to a .hack//MYSTERY page.

Haha, it contains a LOT of interesting information. Most of it is new, while some of it we've already known. I never thought much of Piros until I read up about him. ;) Well, I don't know what else to say except, "Enjoy!" I haven't found anything else on either DVD, and I haven't checked out the .hack//SIGN DVDs, so there still might be some more easter eggs.

HUZZAH!!! AZURE WOLF IS THE WINNER OF OUR EASTER EGG COMPETITION THAT I HAD IN MY MIND!! *hands over invisible prize* Bonnie job, sire.

Well.. That IS very cool.. I didn't notice it...

Well, if there's on on LIMINALITY vol. 2, is there one in the same place on volume 1..? I'm guessing you tried that, Azure Wolf...

Heh. I'd look myself, but I only borrow the DVDs and can't get them for a while.

Not really on topic, but I had to annouce it. My local library got its hands on the first three .Hack//SIGN DVD's, and I think they are going to get the fourth when it comes out.

Yesterday the Anime Review Board that the library set up got to watch the first two episodes. After seeing the first one again I was laughing at the glowing red eyes that Silver Knight had. Plus, I got to see BT get PKed by Sora all over again.

I will shut up now. :P

Black_Phoenix.. Your library has an anime review board? *sigh* All ours has is a novel/movie comparison club.. :(

However, we DO get Shonen Jump in the magazine section...

What's with Ginkan's (Silver Knight's) red glowing eyes anyway? After the first few episodes, they don't glow again.. Is that just showing that he recognized Tsukasa and that he is a wanted player?

In reality my library's ARB is nothing special. It consists of a group of teenagers and young adults watching anime titles that the library gets ahold of, determining which section they fit in (i.e. teen, adult, etc.) and writing short reviews for a 3-ring binder that people can look at to see what the title is like.

I think we may also get Shonen Jump, or at the very least we get Animerica (that is the upside of the library being close to two comic shops).

As for the glowing effect, I think it was just to show when Silver Knight was getting irritated by something. I am just glad it never went past that episode.

In response to the meaning of Gestalt, the definition is something which can not be deduced simply by the sum of its parts. It relates to the series becuase the mystery of Tsukasa and the Key of the Twilight cannot be figured out simply through the information the group has. Yeah, that Logout thing Azurewolf was talking about is pretty neat and turns out true. Best conspiracy theory ever.
