Throught the forests and trees, to any willing elf, prince, drow or creature that is brave enough to rise up aginst her only son... The pale moonlight flitted down on her, the full moon hung high. Raiha
Arms around one of her kindred trees, Vondeux listened to the flute playing.......the tree bowed and bent around his dryad....gentle and warm. Then she stood up on one of his banches and climbed until she could see the sillouhette in the window. She nodded to him and his spirit stirred a sudden wind. She leapt upwards, guided by the breeze, and caught onto the nearby window. Eve looked up, only to see the trees blowing in the wind. Vonduex crouched on the pane, then leaned over and rolled in. The room was empty, so she crawled around the other side, willing her hair to become normal again. She knocked and the music stopped abruptly. Eve walked to the door and opened it slowly. A dryad. A tall pale one, recalling the slender strength of her willow kynn. She smiled gently and held out a long slim hand. Eve: ...who are you? Vondeux: ...Vondeux Sevenstar.....you must be Eve. Eve: Yes...but how did you...? Vondeux: Every word spoken is whispered to me...through the trees and the grass. Do you not know of what we can do? Eve: A dryad. I could not tell. She smiled and let her hair turn to the wood it was originally, bonding with the doorjamb, and flowing out like branches.
Hinata
Sitting at a village pub a lone woman figure sits near a table listening to a tune that seems to grow stronger everynight. It is here...I feel it. She tries not to bring too much attention to herself. But many eyes look on some with whispers some with taunts. But no one yet has coe her way. She drinks and eats on as the tune continues to play and burn her blood. Who is calling me..by the gods I wish this would stop. No sooner had she spoke those words did the flute stop playing and her mind was in a blur. Woman: What-! The woman realised what had just happened. Now I will never find out the source of that blasted music. Angry at herself she hits the table sending her plate hurling to the ground. Man: My, my little lady have we got a temper. Looking at the man who came upon him she stood up to him and kept a michevious look in her eye. Woman: (snicker) What are you gonna do about it. Calm me down. Looking at the stature of the woman the man backed away and left the woman alone. At that time the lady went to the bar and payed her bill and left the tavern. Woman: Now where did that music come from? Trying to remember the direction the lady continued off into the town hoping that the player of the tune would soon start again. Dmitri_Dragoon
For several nights the amber eyed elf had heard the enchanting music, and like a moth to the flame, he went to it. The travel was slow on foot, travelling through the forest, but he did not care, for the forest was his home, and he could never be in the forest to much. Eventually he found himself drawn to a village, and in that village a tavern. He looked up at it, and all the people milling around, he gave a sneer. "Humans, wretched humans, why couldn't this tune have lead me to a nice meadow, or elf village?" He walked into the tavern and had to hold back his gag, so he wouldn't offend the humans. Though he hated them, he was outnumbered, so he had to keep on their good side. He sat down at the bar, and tried not to look at the homely faces of all the humans. After ordering a red wine, he drank in silence, not looking at anybody. Wondering where this melody was coming from, he knew it was inside the tavern, but it may seem suspicious if he looked around. Talon
Voice:Come, dear uncle! Stop of you can! You cannot fight me! I shall kill you as my grandfather killed your mother.....FIGHT ME!!!! Ryth:Rahgh!!! Miles away from a dark tower, inside the Crystal Forest inn, Ryth Lethraina awakened from a nightmare, his eyes tearing as though he had lost his dearest fiend. Voice:Are you alright, Ryth-myth? Was it another nightmare? Ryth turned to the young maiden, an elven child of about a hundred years, ten years to a human, and almost smiled. He hadn't smiled in four months....not since he awakened from a timeless sleep in the Forest of Everdawn. Ryth:Yes, Miss Jaida, and I would like it if you'd stop calling me Ryth-myth. I assure you, you actually saw me slay the dragon, it is no myth that I did so. At this, Jaida Glaivemoon rushed forward and hugged her foster-father tightly, smiling and squeezing his hand. Jaida:I know, but I still like it. I don' like "Miss" on my name, though..... Ryth:Alright, Jaida, alright. Now, shall I tell you another story about the Ancient Warriors that battled the great Dragonmoon? Jaida:Really? WOW!!! Tell me, tell me!!! Ryth really did smile, praying in his heart that Firenze Glaivemoon were alright so that he could see the daughter that Jaida was growing to be lovingly. He began the tale he had read so many times before to an audience for the first time, making the hero Sash Reldmar, a dwarf with an alcoho problem, seem as though he really were there, bringing the accursed moon from the black war-scarred skies at that very moment..... A short while later Ryth:Haha.....poor child. She is quite lonely.....I must find her father soon.....the orcs will be after her again for when I slayed their leader..... Ryth walked down into the inn's main area, where a new cloaked figure Ryth hadn't seen in his four months at the inn before sat apart from the humans and a young maiden outside piped on a flute. His memory lapsed briefl, his head spun with pan, and he staggered. Otik:Aye, izzat you, Ryth? So you've awakened again? Was it the dream again, sir? Ryth:Ah, Otik, yes....it was. And my head hurt something fierce...it seems to hurt mainly when she plays....hold on. Ryth hurried out to the girl playing the flute, his cloak wrapped tightly around his neck. Ryth:Ma'am, could you please stop piping? It...it....I can't explain why, but it hurts me.....and I dislike the extreme pin. Besides, my foster daughter is quite asleep. The girl turned, and the most powerful shock of pain yet coursed through Ryth like an electrical current. Memories that he could not see or grasp tore his mind apart at the sigt of her face. Ryth fell to hi knees, grasping his head and crying in pain. Though he couldn't hear his own words, he uttered words the girl could understand...words she knew... Ryth:Agh! Stop! Muirin, father, leave me be!! Nilothair, I killed you.....I must......not......AGH!!!! LEAVE ME BE!!!!! I must....save....Eve......my head...agh!! Ryth fell unconscious, his head hitting a rock, drawing blood and leaving Ryth senseless as to the past he had just found and lost again.....
The Harlequin
Lacroix, having been uprooted from the dimension he was calmly and rather contendedly sequestering himself around in, was somewhat less than happy. And somewhat less than completely orientated. And somewhat certain that if this was some prank of Ilmiwyrth's, he'd lynch him where he stood, regardless of whether he was standing under a tree, beam or other such object conducive to the time-honoured, and also Lacroix-honoured, practice of lynching. A quick scent to the air revealed that it was most likely not Ilmiwyrth, considering Ilmiwyrth's aura and Eve's aura were very dissimilar. Still, Lacroix suspected Ilmiwyrth out of habit. Looking around, Lacroix was outside a rather shabby looking inn. To be sure, he'd stayed in infinitely worse, but he'd stayed in infinitely better as well. With a sigh, he walked in. A familiar musical sound greeted him, abruptly twinned then cut off by a shout and a large thump. The innkeeper walked up beside him, wringing his hands with concern. Lacroix looked down at him. Otik. Egads. Lacroix: They'll live. Otik looked up at him, confused as to his identity. Lacroix shook his head in amusement, and enlightened him. Recognition dawned for a moment, then was replaced by anger. Lacroix started walking up the stairs, as Otik yelled something along the lines of "What did I tell you would happen the next time you walked in here!" Lacroix stopped, and turned around. Lacroix: Otik, as I remember, last time you tried to throw me out, I burned more than half of this place down around you and your heavies, and then I was pulling it. You know perfectly well I'm not that bad for business, no one here even remembers me. And this time I won't be drinking. So calm down. As Otik spluttered in indignation, Lacroix turned and continued up. There were a few concerned noises coming from one of the rooms; he chose that one. If he walked into the wrong one, he'd live. He was confronted with what appeared to be Eve, a dryad, and someone lying on the floor. Eve looked up, puzzled a moment, then gasped, her eyes going wide. Next thing Lacroix knew, he was knocked back several steps by an exuberant dark elf. His response, typically, was a guarded grumble. Lacroix: Ilmwiyrth, if this is you're way of admitting your feelings, the charade was unneccessary. Eve: Who the hell is Ilmiwyrth? Lacroix: You'll do. Lacroix hugged her back a moment, then firmly but politely disengaged, looking at the semi-unconscious man. He looked somewhat familiar, but considering the sheer numbers of beings Lacroix had run into over the last century or two, that was unsurprising. He looked to the dryad, who was eyeing him with amused interest. Lacroix: Professional hazard that. Was there anything else?
Deedlit
The mystic melody floated along the breeze towards an elf who was walking calmly towards a place that seemed vaguely familiar. The wind shifted her braided hair out from behind her and the full moon shone brightly in her emerald eyes. As she walked closer, the melody grew louder, until it simply faded away. Elsyan stopped and glanced around until her eyes came to rest on one of the buildings that she recongnized. It was a tavern, and it seemed as if it had been built just a few years ago, but she noticed that in a few places it was black and charred. She smiled to herself. That would be from the time that Lacroix burned it down. Ah, but that was many years ago. She walked towards it again and pushed open the door. It was fairly crowded, and it seemed slightly odd to be near so many people once again since she had been living in solitude with her dear friend Runeth, wherever he was now.... She chose a table near one of the windows and sat down. A short little man hurried over to her. Otik: "What'll it be, Miss Eglaannûn?" Elsyan: *smiles* "And here I thought that you wouldn't recongnize me. Most humans have an awful memory span." Otik: "Well, I may be getting old, but my brain still works. So what'll it be?" Elsyan: "Just a bit of wine, thanks." Elsyan laid the coin down on the table and Otik picked it up and put it in his pocket. In a few moments, he returned and set the glass on the table. Elsyan sipped at it as she glanced around the room. Suddenly, on the floor above her where the rooms were, there was a loud "WHUMP!" as if something or someone had fallen to the floor. Several others in the room also looked up, but they immediately fell back to their drinks and conversations. Elsyan listened closely, and her keen ears picked up voices from above. Very familiar voices. She got up from the table and made her way to the stairs and up to the next floor. One of the doors was cracked slightly, and she pushed it open. Inside was an unconcious young man, a nonchalant dryad, and two friends whom she hadn't seen in many years. Lacroix and Eve.
Shinkoru
Eve's eyes watered, her heart constricted. She walked to Elsyan and hugged her tightly. Then turning to Lacroix she nodded. Her gaze shifted to the now knocked out man on the floor. Her heart tugged at her. She knew Lacroix reconized him. She also knew why he left Mara... But she did not understand why he had left her. She heard him mumble something..Murin...Nilothikir..She knew her own brother. She teared and motioned for Lacroix to help her help him into a bed. Lacroix nodded and without Eve's help picked up Hunter..er..Ryth. He dropped on his back in a bed near the door, across from the window. Eve turned to elsyan and LAcroix. Eve: *thought speaking* You know it as I do. It is him. Let me explain. After Alaris defeated Nilo, it was no longer needed, and Hunter was put into a deep sleep. Sadly the sleep caused his memory to be hidden from him. I am afraid we have little hope to make him rember. His memory does come ocasionally, in flashes, and in dreams.. Only Elsyan and LAcroix heard this. They then noticed the woman in the corner. Lacroix/Elsyan: A dryad. The woman nodded. Eve: Yes. We should all sleep. We have a long journey ahead of us. I will explain everyhting in the moorning. Sleep now. Everyone. Eve went again to the window. She seated herself in the windowcil and brought her flute to her lips. she played a diffrent song. A song Hunter had thought her long ago. The soft dreary noted seemed to swim inside your head, makeing you dreary, causeing you to drift off into a peacfull slumber. Eve's eyes watered as she played, soft glowing green orbs reflected the moonlight as her gaze shifted to Hunter. Her mood somehow effected her song as it turned to a sad lullably, sad and deep, as if explaning her soul within every note. It stayed just as soothing and soft. Eve attempted to blink away the tears. Elsyan slepy on an upper bunk over where Ryth slepy. Lacroix had chosen a bottom bunk just across from Ryth. Vondeu had settled herself upon the top bunk over Laxroic. All the beds but one was taken. It was parallel the window across the room. Eve turned looking out to the pale moon. The moon hung high as it had the past sevral moths. Eve could no longer hold back her tears. She heard Ryth mumbling in his sleep, something about Eve no, and grandson. Eve bawled silently, letting the tears flow, the soft saddend melody floating into everyones heads, lulling them to sleep. Eve sat and silently let the tears flow, the pale moon her only companion. Deeper into the night, the moon still in the same position. It wouldn't move until somethign was done. Eve still sat piping her song. A fustling in the trees caught her ears. They twitched upwards a bit. A small red horned nose appeared from a nearby bush. Eve lowered the flute from her lips. Her eyes widened and her heart jumped. Ryuu, in his small form, hopped from the bush and planted his small lab, size body into her lap. She cried out softly and wrapped her slender arms about his red scaly body. Her winned softly as she hugged, not iwshing to release. He backed up after a moment and sniffed the air. Hopping into the room he went right to Ryth's bed. Sniffing his arm he cried out softly, seemingly joyously. Ryuu: *wispering* Its hunter Eve! I know his sent, you found him! Good work!..Why is he asleep? He never slept when you couldn't..he always stayed up and held you while you cried, until you fell asleep or he played u a tune.... Eve's eyes swelled with tears as her hands went up to her fac. One knee up, other dangling out the second story window Eve wept. Face in hands. Ryuu wimpered, sorry he had stirred thoes memories. She looked ta the moon and stood up on his back legs. A pale glow imitated around him as he grew rapidly until he stood, a man. Red straggly hair getting in his eyes, brimming his ears. His purple eyes shone oval and sad. He was clothed in a white pants, a red mussel shirt, and a black short sleeves cloak, hooded, strewn about his sholders. He waled to Eve and picked her up, setting her in his lap, sideways, faceing outwards. Her short red hair settled about his chest as he wrapped his musssled arms about her small soft body. He brought his face to her hair, her tears soaking his shirt. He softly wispered to her. Ryuu: Shh Eve..I promise love, It will be okay. IT will be. Rember when we were in hell togather? I promised then, I didn't lie. Everything was ok, until now. I held your hand and I refuse to ever let anythign hurt you. I wish I could stop this pain now but I can't. hunter will come to himself, but only you can doit. You must show ihm, open his mind and his heart. He will realize. It was you Eve, it was only ever you. He loved you. He never wished to be married, just to live his days with his sister in their forest. He loves you still and he will come to realize that. I love you Eve, I hope you don;t forget it. Eve: But Illy... Ryuu: Shhh, you husband left. And I am sorry, If we cna save Matthew to all means we will. And I sware I shalt do everthing in my power to save Emily. I saw you when I looked into her eyes. She is truly your daughter, As Matt is your son. Twins, one isn't much good without the other, don't blame yourself for her leaving. She needed to try. She needed her brother as you need yours. And deep down, Hunter needes his sister. He will rember. Eventually. I swate it to you Manatsu No Eve. On my honor and my love for you, I sware it. Eve said nothing but cry, letting his arms confort her, certinly not Hunter, nor Illy, but he would do. She nestled her head softly into his chest as he leaned back, resting his head upon hers. The temporary security allowed Eve a small fitfull sleep. _______________________ OOC: Do not make it morning well..time to be moorning, the moon shall still be up, but don't make everyone get up ect until I say. Raiha
Like usual, she had fallen asleep in the corner...standing stock still, hands planted against the wooden walls, hair bonding with it. There was no discomfort, only a dull pulsing sound as the energy of the wood passed through her body. Nothing but a channel...pressing everything through her mind. The small dragon looked at her and she shivered uncontrollably. Her first impulse was to bond completely to the wood and hide herself within. But he didn't move and didn't breathe any fire at her. Maybe he wouldn't try to flame her body.....again..... Vondeux sighed and listened to the music, as if in a trance.....eyes flickering slowly..... Hair waving slowly with the movement of the wind. Manatsu No Eve was sleeping. Everything around her was in a state of rest...but she had been in repose all day. She felt the urge to uproot herself and move forwards. But the water was already thick in the air, the rain would start soon, and the temperature was at a pleasant cool degree. So calm and comforting...this atmosphere. No pressure. No fears. No helpless children screaming for rescue. And no thick fur to worry about. The dryad stage was usefull...but not something she would learn to love. Why did she have to change so much? Her body was slender and prone to bending.....quite unlike her last animalistic stage. It didn't make any sense...but then again. Her life never did. She swayed slowly, the wind rustling her hair, and the leaves growing down her arms. Eve stirred in her sleep, and Vondeux hummed one of her sleeping songs. She quieted down...and everything around her slowed to a dull torpor.
Dmitri_Dragoon
Nolth watched the drow walk up the stairs, and his confrontation with the tender, albeit short. He decided since he had not seen the drow come back down that he was still upstairs, and that he would go up and investigate. He hid in a dark corner until nightfall, and when everything was silent. He was lucky not to be spotted. Finally taking his chance, he snuck quietly up the stairs, and looked through each keyhole. Spying wasn't his type, but then he never had much of a type, he was always tending to stick to nature, and he felt that finding this drow was the will of Mielikki. At long last he looked through the right keyhole, and saw the drow asleep on a bed, along with other roommates. He held back the urge to burst in and attack, he felt he should study them more. Plus, he felt a pressence there that seemed familiar, but yet he had never known before.

He tried futilely to grasp the dream he'd experienced, like holding water in a sieve. He held his head in his hands as his eyes shifted to silver, his black hair glistening in the constant full moonlight. He looked to the window, Eve awakened by his distressed cry. The ghosts of tears settles on her cheeks, Hunter had awakened briefly to comfort her. Ryuu moved aside as Hunter sat by his sister, taking her in his arms and rocking back and forth. Hunter:I am here, Eve. I am here. I will not be for long, but I will be here nonetheless, every night. I am sorry, dear sister, but I cannot come back..... Eve cried softly into her brother's shoulder, then looked him in the eyes. He knew it was coming, saw the smack before he felt it. He did nothing to stop it. Eve:WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?!?!?! WHY'D YOU LEAVE US?!?! Hunter sighed, feeling his time grow short. He gripped Eve's shoulder as he explained. Hunter:Sister, I could not stay with Mara because she was not right for me. She was......just not to be mine. I had to relieve her of any and all pain as I had caused her so much, and demons and hatred followed me like blood to a battlefield. I had to give her some reprieve from the torture. The blade, Alaris, however, had an unexpected effect on me. I reached Everdawn, the forest you forged Alaris in, and it put me into a deep, memory-less sleep these centuries to ensure that I would live to destroy Nilothakir once and for all....Nilothakir's keep still stands, and the sorcerer uses Matthew like a puppet.......The blade....is.....the.......key............. Eve sobbed into her hands, unable to take much more pain......
The Harlequin
As per usual, Lacroix didn't bother with sleep. Rather, he simply distanced his mind from his body, relocating it to another plane. The veritable stasis his body underwent was enough for it to heal, rest, recuperate, get over what was currently annoying him, and this way he didn't have to worry about having his mind fogged when he awoke, and this way the slight chance of actually being surprised while asleep was even more minimal. As usual, he respected privacy, and kept his thoughts away from the various nighttime behaviours of his companions...Hell, he'd seen a fair bit worse in quite a few places. His mind this night chose the Astral Plane, the realm of the celestials and the cold, unfeeling stars. Lacroix was certainly known there...but like most planes of existance....he was hardly welcomed. With his mind linked to a physical entity however, there was little the purely incorpreal celestials could do about it on this plane. They could always take a trip to the Prime Material and do away with him, but he somehow judged that that was an unlikely event. After all, they'd rather rail at him and tell him how annoying he was. They weren't too unlike mortals in that regard, now that Lacroix thought about it. The spiritual chuckle that evoked was cut short as disturbance. Once again, one of Lacroix's old friends had gotten themselves into trouble. But dealing with that kind of thing was never Lacroix's forté. After a quick mental survey, his body never twitched, he assumed that as per usual someone else would take care of it, and he once again left this realm, seeking out some of his old contacts. After all, he did owe a few people favours, and nights tended to be his best times to get those out of the way, even if he wasn't able to interact physically on most quantum realms.
Hinata
OOC; I relive the night in my post. I hope that you werent ready for morning!!!!! I hope I dont mess the storyline's progression up....PM me if I should edit it!!!! As Fenris circled the town over and over the tune kep playing and stopping throughout the night. She was still uneasy about the whole thing. As she stood outside the tarven again, she noticed many people and others enter. She noticed a few elves, one whose face was familiar and yet quiet distance and a few more whom she had never noticed before. Also one who resembled a drow, but she didn't want to speculate. After sitting outside she heard a quick silence overcome the whole tavern while everything went back to normal. Lookin up she noticed one light on in one of thr eooms and decided to see if a better look could be obtained. Not wanting to be noticed she climbed on the house across from the tavern and saw a few figures moving abut. The elves and yes it was a drow. She wondered how such a group could be called together. She decided to keep a watch on them and soon the light in the room was out. She sat on the roof still in search of her flute player as well as who all had gathered. Although her sense of smell comes and goes. At one point a familiar scent returned to her. Home, home, why do I think of you now. It has been years... As her thoughts of home filled in her the tune once again filled the air. So close.... As she looked around she noticed who was playing. She looked back at the window and noticed a lady playing the flute. The tune that had attracted her there. The tune that wouldn't escaped her head. Fenris stared into the window as the lady played. and knew that tomorrow she must find out who this lady is and why is this tune calling her. It is perfectly fine. :) But now I AM ready for moorning. __________ Eve awoke in Ryuu's arms. Without the sun to wake her she relyed on her..what did he call it again? Watch? Meh, she relied on her electronic sun dial. She had kept this and only a few more items when she travled into the fututr long while pasy. Fifty years maby? She shuggred, pulling the watch out of her pocket. It read 7:46am. Good moorning. She had noticed a few people must have found ways of time, because their was slight commotion in the streets. She sighed softly and jumped to the floor. Eve: Ok WAKE UP!!!!! She giggled slightly as Ryth fell out of bed. Thinking to himself Hunter might return yett, Ryth was so much like him. Matthew was a puppe..Alaris, the..kae? She knew they must find Alaris. And she knew where to look. Only one place of two could hold it. Heaven or Hell. And by the way, thoes of you first seeing him, this is my dragin Ryuu, long ago he was made able to transform to a human form, by an anchient way of dragon clans, shuch as Hunter..and I...*Eve's voice cracked as she sopke* Well yes, anyway. We must find the legendary sword Alaris. Without it, all hope is lost. We cannot defeat the dark mage without theo nly blade able to pierce his defences. And the one whom shalt weild it is Ryth. Don't look alarmed, two of you already know why, I am hopeing certin thigns shall come back upon holding the blade, hopefully. But for now we must find it. Only one of two places is powerfull enough to keep the sword captive. Heaven or Hell. Both are BAD. Hell we face deamon, and thigns you wouldn't dream of, horrors so gruesom...but heaven, we face gods and goddesses, angels and saints, weilders of light, not ugly, but powerfull and deadly. Its a big crime to "break in" to heaven. I can get us there though, to either. The choice is yours, I leave it in your hands. Lets take a vote now. Voice your reply, and give a short decription why you perfer what we do, maby you can sway others to you likeing. EVERYONE. Must vote. Eve sat on the floor and looked to everyone as they considered the ultamatems.[/I ______________ OOC: And if anyone wants to "run in to" or "find" us up here, doit now, so you can help in the vote. Talon
Sword:Ryth....Ryth......tell her the sword is closer than she imagined. Tell her Alaris is nearer to you than any others...... Ryth jumped in surprise, as he always did when his sword spoke to him. Ryth:Eve, my sw-.......Alaris is nearer than you think. Alaris is nearer to me than any others here. It was Eve's turn to be bewildered. Eve:How do you know of my brother's sword? How do you know the name of the object we search for? Ryth:Welllllll......you just said it, but my sword here tells me that Alaris is quite close. It speaks in the voice from my dreams. Here, it wants to speak to you.... Ryth handed his ancient, rusted blade to Eve and at once she fell into a trance, the blade's powers speaking to her heart and mind.... Whisper:Eve, my creator.....long it has been since I have been properly used or held by you and Hunter. Ryth is a kind master, though. I hope he is maintained when Hunter returns, just the memories come back, not the arrogance or anger.....or depression. Eve, you must still quest in Heaven and Hell, the artifacts that will open the way to the tower lie in your reach. you know of them, I do not. You must find them. I know not where they are, this is YOUR time to shine. But Ryth......he can lead. At least until you are in the reaches beyond this world. His fatherly affection for Jaida will make him thirty times more powerful. I am Alaris.....but for now, I rest. Foxknight will care for our master...just....don't tell Ryth about his dragonform JUST yet.......he's a bit ticked about a black dragon that ate his favorite horse. Eve regained her awareness and handed the ancient sword back to Ryth, who had another blade, an emerald one, drawn. He and Lacroix both were in alert stances, their hearing keen and focused on- Otik:OGRES!!!! Prepare the walls, raise the crossbow nests! It's a hard battle ahe- Lacroix:Do us a favor, Otik, and shut your mouth for two minutes. We have a party assembled, we can handle a few ogres. Ryth:Not these......two of them, two, are reinforced, nearly impossible to kill. They're about as big as Balrogs, minus a couple of meters, maybe. They're carrying oak trees for clubs, saplings about ten years old, I'd guess. None too big. But I'm scared of the necklaces..... Lacroix:How do you know all this? Ryth:I'm looking out the window at them. He grinned quite sheepishly, though Eve knew it was a ruse. Like her brother, Ryth kept his true abilities hidden in case of capture. He'd heard every bit of what he'd described and saw none. Eve looked out the window, where fourteen ogres and two Nightogres were rampaging townsfolk, heading, it seemed, right for the inn. Ryth:Those two are infused with the powers of the necromancer. They will be able to speak and hunt us more effectively than the other fourteen. They are mine. I say we kill them, save the village, THEN make our choice on where we go to find the sword. One of the Nightogres looked at Ryth, grimacing and hilding his grotesque arm up, pointing at the elf who grimaced back. Nightogre:Our master wants the one in the black cloak taken alive! Kill the others, including our master's mother! Ryth looked around the room. He was the only one visible in a black cloak. The necromancer wanted him alive. He looked out the window, drawing his longbow and stringing an arrow, putting the shaft through the speaker's throat. The ogre simply laughed and pulled the projectile out, breaking it in half. Ryth pointed to his targets. Ryth:You, ogres, won't have the luxury of being taken alive! Knight, let us be swift as lightning!
Hinata
Serena fell asleep that night listening to the tume and how it made her think of hoe. Se dreamed quietly about her childhood and how she enyoed playing adn then the training all the work she had done. Now but now stuck in her head, why was she following this tune? She could be hunting of getting money why had she wasted her time. Her dreams, though, were soon interrupted by a screams for the villagers. She peaked over the roof and saw about a dozen ogres and two ogres that just didn't look normal. What the hell... She continued to look at the group as they made they're way in front of the end. Although not ale to hear every word fully she did hear..Kill them all. Serena's temperatur rose. I have not come this far to be stopped now. I cannot let them die, not without seeing why I was called. Serena(Yelling): I will not let you kill them!!! She jumped from the roof and knew there was little chance of beating the new types of Ogres but she at least try. She saw how easy he removed the arrow and was soon surronded by 3 ogres. Nighogre: What is your part in this girl. We have no need to kill you so back away or die. Serena: I will not. I have been summoned and I will not leave until I find out why. Nightogre: Well in that case...KILL HER. The three ogres attacke Serena while the other ran inside after the rest of the group. A lone figure, from what Serena could tell while engaed in battle stood his ground at the window staring intently at the nightogre. Nightogre: Come down if you dare! It would be a shame to not take you in kicking and screaming.
Dmitri_Dragoon
Nolth had heard the magic word, 'Ogre'. His racial enemy, and one he could not let live. He burst out of his hiding spot that he had taken up and ran straight into the room where the drow entered, and saw several people, all of whom gave him an curious look. Without being asked he just plainly told them who he was. "I'm Nolth Dlae, Ranger of the Forest." The stares didn't go away immediately, but with the mayhem the ogre's were causing, and the seeing of a figure out trying to fight them alone, caught everyone's attention again. "Shall we fight or watch the town be slaughtered?"
Talon
Ryth would not allow the ogre's threats to fall on deaf ears. He tossed his hair back and dove out the window, his sword glinting in the sunlight. Nolth followed quickly, as did the rest of them. Ryth didn't happen to hear Lacroix's "Damn, he hasn't changed a bit since he lost his mind, has he?" in regards to his recklessness, he simply fought to defend the town. An elven scream pierced his ears as he thrust his blade through a Nightogre's throat, turning his still-breathing opponent to find Jaida in the other Nightogre's grip. Nightogre:Come get here, Nightcloak, if you dare! You save her, or the village! Ryth combatted the decision in his mind before Lacroix stepped in and stabbed the ogre through the gut with his blades, effectively giving Ryth vent for his ange on the rest of his opponents. Ryth:Well, that's one point for the drow...
The Harlequin
OOC: You're behind on the times I'm afraid... Lacroix doesn't use blades very much any more. IC: The Nightogre fell, Lacroix opening a blindingly fast X in its throat with his twin kamas. It gave a gurgle and fell, Jaida scrambling away from it. Lacroix rather apathetically turned to one of the other, lesser ogres, sheathing his kamas. The thing glared at him with feverish malice. The ogre snarled, and swung a clumsy blow, with some kind of heavy club. Lacroix folded his arms, and took a single step sideways, and flicked his right leg up. Inner crescent, striking the beast's face. From there, an outer crescent, again hitting the ogre's head. Lacroix continued with that motion, a full rotation that lead into a right leg spinning heel kick to the temple. It would have cracked any other beast's skull. As it stumbled back, Lacroix returned his right foot to the ground, and sent a stabbing front kick into the ogre's solar plexus, which was guarded only by crude leather, with his left leg. As he dropped that leg, he brought his right up in a sharp side kick. Rather than reface his opponent, he continued to spin, lifting his left leg, and leaping off his right in a spinning, jumping inner crescent. With a sharp crack, the ogre's neck broke. Lacroix landed easily, and unfolded his arms. Lacroix: Is it my mistake, or do these things just get easier? He dropped into an easy cat stance, but strangely enough, wasn't approached.
Deedlit
Elsyan removed her sword from the skull of one of the ogres that she had just slain. From behind her, she could hear the others also getting in their kills as ogres screamed in pain and fell to the ground with a loud thud. She glanced over her shoulder and dodged to the left as an ogre collasped dead on the ground, but it was a fraction of a second later that she noticed another ogre charging at her with its huge club raised above his head. She raised her sword to parry the verticle slice at the last moment, but she was over-powered and her father's sword was sent flying away from her. A cold numbing sensation overtook her arm and it fell limply at her side. But Elsyan didn't seem to care very much. She pointed her index finger at the ogre, who was about to swing at her again, and muttered a few words of magic. Immediately a surge of lightening shot forth and struck the ogre full in the chest, and in a few seconds he fell backwards as white flames engulfed his body. Elsyan ignored him as she ran to retrieve her sword, which was several yards away from her. She held it in her right hand but it almost slipped from her fingers. Elsyan: "Looks like I'll have to fight with my left hand this time."
Hinata
Seeing that the young looking elven figure fell to the ground Serena quickly ran to help. But the girl quickly disposed of any competition. Still seeing her holding her wounded arm close to her body. She still helped to back the girl up. Serena: Are you okay...well I shouldn't have to ask for you seem fine. Elsyan: Well my arms hurt for now but I should be fine. As Elsyan rose to the ground another ogre can up behind her hoping to finish off the job he started. Serena closed he eyes and muttered a few magic words to herself. The ground under her and Elsyan's feet began to shake as the ogre stood still wondering what was causing this. Serena done with the words, opened her eyes and called to Elsyan. Serena: Hold on!! Elsyan stood up trying to keep her balance as a crack formed in the ground under the ogres feet. The crack gree wide and the ogre fell into the pit that developed. As soon as the ogre fell into the pit. he crack began to come together again and the earth was soon calm. Elsyan: What just happened? Serena: I had to make sure that menacing creaure doesn't come back again! Serena smiled a bit and stood next to Elsyan making sure that they had each others back. Elsyan: Well should we help the others. Looking around their saw the other handling themselves quite well. Serena: Let's not spoil their fun!!!!!
Talon
Ryth stared as the battle's raging was going nowhere. The Nightogre's kept regenerating, even Lacroix's was standing back up. Ryth sheathed his sword, leaping into the air and tearing off his cloak, revealing a pair of emerald wings. He began flapping these into a bit of a frenzy, placing his hand on the hilt of the Sword of Whispers. Ryth:Everyone, get behind me!!! Get behind me or you will all suffer extreme pain!! Somewhat reluctantly, everyone in the pitched battle moved behind him, wondering what he'd do. The ogres, too, stared at the wildly flapping wings. Ryth:WING SLASH!!! A different form of his once-proud Wing Slash, he drew his ancient blade with the speed of lightning, the blade hitting the wind created from his wings and driving them with the force of thousands of tons of blades raining point-down on a large area. The ogres were swept up into a painful vaccuum, those who were injured were made worse by the fact that their wounds gave the slash a medium to the heart. Five of the remaining ogres fell dead, five of them fell incapable of fighting, the rest stood. Only one of the Nightogres, Lacroix's, fell dead. Completely dead. The other just laughed as he aimed a Dark Blast at Jaida. Ryth:NO!!! He dove to protect Jaida, the Dark Blast catching him full in the chest, his mind cleared of anything but the pain, his breath failing as he fell to the ground, his wings splayed at odd angles. He only had time to see Jaida crying and shaking him to awaken him before the stunning magic took him completely...
Shinkoru
Eve screamed. Eve: EEEENNNOOOUUUGGGGHHH!!!!!!!! The moment the echo of her ear splitting scream ended she looked around. everything appeared frozen. Ryth lay frozen on the ground, the wind was gone, everyone else stood, frosen, in time. Eve looked around, everyone stnading as they were, just not breathing, not moveing, some in mid move stood aquardly. Eve slowly walked to Ryth. She placed her palm on Jaida's forhead. Wispering something.. Eve: *wispering* Awaken... Jaida opened her eyes from the blink and cried softly still, wining scared her worst fear true. Eve: Shh, calm now young one... You wish to save him don't you? Jaida: *choking* Yes...please..can you help?? Eve: No. I cannot, but you can. Only the one here who loves him most can save him from this darkness. You must understand. I can not explain more. Jaida sat, thinking for a moment. She moved her arms over Ryth'b body. She hugged him tightly crying, asking him for her helf, bawling her eyes out. Jaida: Oh please come back, I need you!...I need your help, you can't leave me all alone..YOU PROMISED! DARN YOU, YOU PROMISED ME! You promised...to protect me...you promise...you.. A bright light flashed, lighting up the darkness for a fraction of a second. Eve nodded. Jaida looked up, still crying, and badly shaken. Eve: Jaida..I shall explain somethign to you. And you alone. Ryth must never hear of this. You understand? Good. See.. I would have saved him myself. Only theo ne who loves him most could overcome that damage. I love his body more than you. I love who he once was. Serenol, hunter, my brother. I miss him, seeing him as Ryth, void of memories of how we were kills me to no end. No one knows of my sorrow but Ryuu. Nice guy, Ryuu, you might find him to be your favroite. Unless you go for people like your faster-father here. Then you would look to Lacroix for youe likeing. As for the woman who resembles a tree in every way, or Well elsyan, has many great qualities. Strong woman she is. The others I know little of. And this new girl and the man there. One day soon, Ryth shall rember his former self, and then must make a choice. Of who to be. Ryth, or Fox. I can't speak any longer. MY spell is waring thin. Now help me with somethng then quickly return as you are now, it us crucial for you to be in the exact same position. Jaida nodded and stood walking to Eve, wrapping her arms tightly about her for a moment. Eve teared. She then grabbed Jaida's arm and pulled her to the Nightogre. she grabbed her satchel and withdrew a rrope. She put it around its neck and gave the rope to Jaida. she nodded, understanding and walked back ot where she was, exactly. She drew Shinkoru, the anchient legendary sword that helped defeat Nilothikir the first go round. She desprately hoped their wouldn't be a thrid time. Jumping up on its face, kneeling on its nose. She closed her eyes, and the fraction of a second they were closed the world moved into motion again. Moved were compleated, rowars finished, and every startled, looking at where Eve was. Eve: Give a message to my son for me, you'll be seeing him in hell sooner than I. Tell him Manatsu No Eve, Daughter of Darkness, Last child of the wind, and holder of the anchient sword Shinkoru, WILL DESTROY HIM....now.. YOU DIE!!! The moment Die escaped her lips she plunged her sword downinto its head, between the eyes. A normal blade would have broken, but old and blessed make for hard breakin'. The ogre roared in pain and anger. One of its massive arms went up, like swiping a fly from your face Eve was suddenly hurled into the nearest building. She felt bones crush on impact, her sword still imbedded within its forhead. He slowlys screamed, realizeing her glowing icy blue sword was that color for a reason. Ice slowly started to cover him, in moments he was a solid brick. The others fled. Leaving the huge frozen statue alone. Jaida stood and walked to it, looking up at its massiveness. She picked up a stick and hummed it at its head. A small crick was heard, and then the entire thing broke down ,crumbling into thousands of pieces. Jaida smiled bright and big as Ryth stood and hugged her. Eve smiled weakly as Ryuu ran over to her, ready to heal her wounds. Talon
Ryth sighed, his mind fading again. His eyes glowed silver, his hair briefly flashed into a braid, and the right corner of his mouth flicked into an unmistakable smirk. Hunter:Now, now, sister. I was merely stunned. You needn't have gone to the trouble. My body is much stronger than it used to be. And Elsyan, watch Jaida for me when I'm gone. I'll have to leave nightly for....matters of my own. Ryth knows this. And I do not wish to be Fox, I shall be Ryth with my memories, sister. I already made my choice. Jaida.....your father, your real one, is dead. The ogres killed him. Rythmyth is now your father.....I am sorry...... As Hunter faded again, Ryth's body snapped into consciousness unbecoming an elf. Jaida clenched his hand, her tears flowing, the shock of learning of her father's death tearing her apart. "Leave it to Hunter to be insensitive about a sensitive subject. Damned bastard." Lacroix whispered to himself, Elsyan taking the crying elf-girl in her arms as Ryth fought the urge to remove his sword and his head with it. Eve simply held back her emotion as she put the choice forward again. Eve:I think it's time to vote now. The Harlequin
OOC: Well, I'm still laughing at the whole thing. But then, no one was ever all that happy about that fact, so I'll shut up about it. IC: Lacroix folded his arms and rolled his eyes. His weight was transferred ever so slightly to one hip...Lacroix's most dangerous pose...The pose where he was bored out of his mind, and in no way happy about it. Of course, most of the people here didn't know that. Lacroix: As the only person here who has been to both, one of them regularly, and I'll let you work it out yourself exactly which one in question that is, I can quite firmly establish that I in no way care, and will most likely end up going to whichever one everyone decides not to, simply on the grounds that I have more ....contacts in both realms, and am quite capable of utilising them to keep myself in a position where most of the denizens in either realm will be quite happy to be rather ...pliable. Eve sighed in exasperation. Eve: Can't you ever do anything the easy way? Lacroix threw a point glance to Ryth. Eve understood instantly. The overly melodramatic, I will protect everyone and what not attitude, especially when Lacroix was easily capable of taking care of himself, had also walked a thin line between simply annoying Lacroix, or having him laugh in either amusement of contempt at it. Eve shook her head at Lacroix's reticience to say anymore, and turned to everyone else. Lacroix sighed in disgust and walked away. He'd calm down and come back in five or ten minutes, when everyone had finished yelling at each other for whatever stupid reason. He'd live, either way. This was already getting tedious. He absently wondered if he could prevail on Ilmiwyrth to give them all some ...hardening.
