Emme888
Please be positive...... :flaming: Okay I recentally lost about 17 lbs at the end of the school year. I thought it'd be good for summer and all, plus I kinda needed to. I'm 5 foot 2 inches and was about 147lbs. Not Good...so I got down to 130. But just now I went on vacation and at the end if the week and 1/2 I thought I looked a bit chunky agian around the waist, so I weighed myself....big problem. I gain 4-5 lbs....All I want to do is to get down to about 120-125lbs. :bawl: I know alot of you are going to say you should just love yourself and that stuff. But I am a short Korean, and people, for some reason, expect all Asains women to be peite and small. Someone told me I wasn't the average Asain. I asked them what that was, and they told me small and peite. Well I'd like to be that, they told me since I came to the U.S when I was a baby, my life diet wasn't probally as healthy as to Asains in Asia. So I'm asking anyone if they know of any good excerises to lose the weight.(NOT CRAZY DIETS OR TAE BO CLASSES) Just lose weight, not become bulky with muscle...especailly with the little bit of chub on the belly. Please help...
Guest Chris
heh, if you only weight 135 pounds, be happy. i'm 5'11 and weight about 170. but if you really want to lose weight, i suggest running. it's the best way to lose weight and not build up lots of muscle. also, for the stomach, sit ups and 6 inches work well. they don't make you that muscler(sp?) but they do burn off fat in that area. i wish you best of luck.
Guest dayday
I went on a diet before and didn't lose any wait. Then when I got off dropped 5 pounds instantly. I just didn't eat much. I sat at the computer all day on OB eating pretzels when I got hungry and apples when I was really hungry. I've done that for a few weeks and I've lost plenty and still going. Or try this cabbage soup diet. It really works and tastes good too.
Terpischore
Well, this is what i sometimes do: Like, while your watching your favorite show, do some sit ups. Just lay on your back and go up all the way until your shoulder blades leave the floor, then go back down. You can still like, watch the TV while you do this. But if you do it for the whole show - bam! You've lost a buncha calories. If you do that for like 2 weeks then you'll lose weight. If what you were doing before helped you a bunch, just do that again, and watch how many sweets you eat. You can burn calories, but if right afterward you go to the pantry and get cookies or something, then it's like you never did your workout. Just remember - you always need to eat a little bit less then you burn off. Just so you loose a little bit at a time - you wouldn't want to get an eating disorder. Hope that helped. Red
This kind of thing matters to you this much, eh? I'm actually quite sorry to hear that. It really is the person that should matter most to people, not what they look like. I'm about as good looking as a rock, I'm 160lbs and 6ft 2; I would rather people saw me for who I was. If you really want to lose the weight that badly, I suggest just taking your time and regularly excercising. Go for a run every morning or when you have a spare hour, it's a very good way to lose weight. Eat the right food too. Might sound like you've heard it before but it really does work.
nezzyjean
Ok..first of all..diets don't work as well as excersize. Diets just starve your body..and make it hungrier and hungrier and HUNGRIER! So...the outcome of a diet is usuallt splurging on too much food... So excersize by running or playing a sport. Also, avoid eating too much food from the top of the food triangle(the sweets!) but a little bit of candy every now and then will keep you from craving sweets too badly...just not everyday. Also, salads every now and then can help u lose weight. Good Luck!
Na'dou
I believe that excersise is the best way to lose weight....Why don't you try running, walking, or power walking? I find that power walking is a great way to walk of the pounds. If you don't want that, I suggest Tae Boe. The exercise is easy, hard, and fun. I didn't gain any muscles from doing it........ You'll just get hungrier and hungrier until you can eat a horse. >.>; Then you'll be worse off than before.
Patronus
I'm six foot and 230 lbs, so I have a little meat. I've tried everything---not eating, exercising, and slim fast. Even though I am fourteen, I have tried all of them. Some worked, some didn't. It depends on the individual. -L/Z
Na'dou
Some parts are easy, but the double time (when you have to do the exercises really fast) is the hard part, but you get breaks in between. That's if you want to take the breaks..
Heaven's Cloud
Despite what many people have said, dieting does work...it just depends on what you need to change in your existing diet. Most people just need to eat smaller portions and restrain themselves from snacking on poor foods. I lift weights regularly, however I haven't had a good diet or cardio routine since highschool. I was gaining a bit of weight so I decided it was time to shed some pounds. All I really did was slightly cut down my food intake per meal, and changed my snaking to carrots, apples and oranges instead of peanut-butter sandwiches. I also began a cardio routine where I run two miles, bike three miles, and then use an eliptial machine for 15 minutes...the whole routine takes forty minutes and I do it three times a week. Weight training is also a great way to burn fat. You can use low weights and do high reps to avoid getting bulky. The more lean muscle you develop he more fat you burn...focusing on large muscle groups in the legs, back, and chest will help the most
Guest Taylor Hewitt
I got a question. Would you lose weight if you have no coke and no chocolate and candy and just u know regular food. That's with little excersise and sitting at computer all day. All The Best Taylor Hewitt
Guest Chris
probably, bust just a little bit. giving up those thing would be smart if you're trying to lose weight, but i suggest doing a little more. and yes, deiting does work.
Guest Zeh
Well, i've never been close to overweight, and what helped me is a combination of things. When i became lactose intolerant, i lost nearly 10 pounds in two weeks... and i did nothing. I also bike regularly (about two hours a day), and do 150 jumping jacks and 50 sit-ups. All that maybe takes two and a half hours a day (mostly the biking, lol) but it keeps me from being bored, or out of shape, so i'm happy.
Guest Fiasco
Hmm, well its never been a probably for me since I've always been under weight or borderline. Reason being is because I'm a hyper active kid and I have a fast metabolism so it is fast. So yeah, right now I'm 5'7 and 115 LBS. The doctor says I'm a good weight for my height and being 15 years old. But I think I'm a bit skinny so I go to the gym lots now. :)
Guest Taylor Hewitt
If I'm 6 foot 2 or so and I weight about 200 pounds is that bad? I'm a big guy :).
Na'dou
I'm 14, 5'4, and I weigh around 130-136. It goes up and down. I guess it's because I eat every now and then...and sometimes I don't feel like eating at all..... I don't really think dieting works...but then again that's probably because most of the people I've seen that say they're on diets don't stick to them. I'm pretty sure it would help, but dieting alone won't be much help so do both the exercise and the dieting....It's up to you what you want to do. If you want to lose weight, you will. Just make sure you're willing to do what it takes.... [edit]Well, that all depends. Are you muscle big or something else?[/edit]

Change
Running works the best. Also you should cut out transfatty food, carbohydrates, and processed foods in general. I only know this cause I've done bit of reading...Heh, not that I need it, I'm 5'9'' and 135lbs.
Terpischore
Muscle weights more then fat, you know...so you can look good but still weigh a lot. Personally, I really don't count the pounds..i'm like, 5'4 and 115 pounds, but i don't look that bad, since i'm a ballet dancer. So i suggest that you don't count the pounds...i know it may sound bad, but...if you LOOK good and weigh like 150, no biggie. If you don't look good at 150, you may want to lose some weight in order to look good...isn't it all just about looking good after all? eleanor
O_o;; Of course dieting works! And you really don't have to starve yourself! I sound like a commercial. Well, I think most importantly is to cut down on carbohydrates and don't eat too much meat. Eating dinner early (5:00 PM-6:00 PM) and not eating or drinking anything after ('cept drinking water) REALLY REALLY helps. Cut down on snacks if you eat a lot. My problem is that I don't eat lots of snacks, but I eat like a cow when it comes to meals. ::shrugs:: My mom says you should eat most at breakfast, a little less at lunch, and not eat that much at dinner. And after you do excercise, don't eat too much. Of course, I guess throwing in a couple of daily runs and stuff will help you out. Go play some sports with your friends. I should. O_o. Heh, I know all this stuff and yet I never practice it. ^_^
Change
Actualy if you starve yourself when you start eating again your body is programed to store that food as fat o_0!!! So just eat helthier...
Fall
Running/jogging and dieting. Just build the running rutine into your everyday life, so you think you have to do it anyway. Make way for it. I started jogging about a quarter of a mile, walking half of it. Simply because it was too hard for me. But I kept pushing it, and jogging everyday, trying to lose weight. I can now jog about 2 miles without stopping. And I can keep going. And no matter how hard you try, you can never run full pace for a long distance... say 6 miles, unless of course you've been doing it for a lifetime or are a running athlete. If you're not losing weight too fast, you might have hit a platue. A time when you don't lose nothing at all. The exercising still does your body the world of good, but you won't lose weight, if at all, you'll put on weight. But once this platue is over, your weight will drop like a bomb. All the weight you should have lost in that platue, you'll lose now in about 2/3 weeks. Dieting with it makes it all better. Eating what you normally do won't really hurt if you're running/jogging, as the jogging your doing burns off some of the calories you put on, that you weren't burning off when you weren't running. ;) But eating healthier foods if you're not already, just adds to the results. I've lost now, around 11 kilograms (no idea how much pounds that is), and I've doing exectly what I mentioned above. I've now stopped for a while, though I'm going to start again soon. I still need to lose about 15/20 kilograms before I'm a healthy weight for my age. And I intend to. I play footy though, so the extra weight I'm carrying around does stand up for advantages. ...also, sit ups and all these "ab exercises" won't do jack **** to giving you abs, if you've got a gut. If you've got some chubb around the stomach, ab exercises will make your abs stronger/bigger/whatever, but they won't show while the chubb is there on top. You have to burn that fat on top (jogging ;)). Once you've got rid of the fat on top, you're abs will start to show. Ab exercises don't burn fat, they're muscle exercises. "Muscle burns fat"... yeah, we've all heard that. But you'll find that they're not doing nothing visible to your abs, though they are making them huge under that fat. Ask a doctor, every doctor knows it. ...hope I could have been of some help. :)

eleanor
You know, I just remembered. I think there's some diet and all you eat is meat and meaty-things O_o, and not eat a lot of carbs. Then, after you've lost all the weight, you eat a whole bunch of carbs and salads to keep that weight. My friend tried it out once, and she lost about twenty pounds.
