Avatarofkaine
I was scribbling down some stuff - some might call it a poem and the line - "she'll suck your fingers she'll suck your eye" appeared on the page,It might just be me but I'm pretty sure I didnt make it up myself and it was buried in my subconcious somewhere, It's driving me insane, I'm going through all my cds to try and see if I can find it somewhere. If anyone could tell me if I am correct and it is from somewhere else and where, that would be a great relief because I really feel that I know I have heard it somewhere else. no good girls, blood stained, crimson curls, honey bee mouth, and stinger tounge. candy lips, bare hips she'll suck your fingers she'll suck your eye she'll take your heart and cut your hair youll look up to her, she'll look down on you steal your heart, cut your hair stilleto heels and thigh top boots with your money in the fore, she's sure to be your whore, just put your money to the fore, fall from grace beneath her, never will you leave her, she's got a honey bee mouth and a stinger tounge turpentine kisses, stolen innocenence, she'll take your heart and cut your hair youll look up to her, she'll look down on you steal your heart and cut your hair
Brasil
Some of it sounds like The Rolling Stones, so I'd be interested to see if you're a fan of them. I've written poems before that have...inflections, wording and the feel of bands I listen to, even though I may not have been listening to them at the time of the poem's creation. Sometimes a writer will unknowingly come under the influence of a particular vibe of another piece of work. I helped a friend with a poem a few weeks ago. He had a good start...very good start. But he wanted to turn it into a song and needed help with the meter and rhyme scheme. When I was finished with it, you could sing it to the 3 Doors Down song, "When I'm Gone." I don't know how it happened, but it just did. That's the thing about being a writer (or generally, an entertainer) today: to create things that are different enough to get recognized, but similar enough to attract a strong fan base. Good luck, PoisonTongue
Avatarofkaine
Yea there are several inflections to Smashing Pumpkins songs placed deliberatly in there, just that one line keeps skipping away and I cant pin it down in my mind. Rolling Stones, when I first read that I wasnt so sure but the more I look at it the more I can sort of see what you mean. Never noticed that before, Thanks. Jesus Chicken
There's also a bit of Jeff Buckley in there too, with the "cut your hair" thing. Meh...it's not that obvious, but either way its there.
Avatarofkaine
Yea, I hadn't even thought that I had heard anything like that before but sure enough your right. Guess this just shows how easily influenced we can be, even if it is on a subconcious level.
