(most are guys):smirk: I don't think that just 'cause some girls aren't into this stuff, it doesn't mean the rest of us aren't! A lot of boys need to understand that. But unfortunatly... they don't. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to have the other half of the young population going after Yu-Gi-Oh, but it generally happens that girls tend to be more into things like Barbies and other 'fashion' dolls. I would go on a huge rant about gender stereotyping in toys, but it's long and fairly boring. basically, I think people should be allowed to like whatever they want to. It annoys me when people (usually boys) discriminate against girls just because they happen to be part of a minority of whatever fandom they're in. My younger sister has a good Yu-Gi-Oh Dragon deck, and beats me fairly often when I take Buster Blader out. I certainly don't think any les of her because she's a girl. In fact, I'd probably have more respect for girl duelists than some male ones. Although, that'd have to depend on how they play and act rather than just being male or female. That'd be rude. But yeah, the series is fairly male-orientated. Not just in the amount of characters (four girls [T'ea, Mai, Ishizu and Serenity] compared to X boys [Yugi/Yami, Joey, Tristan, Bakura, Marik, Pegsaus, Kaiba, Mokuba, most of the other duelists everywhere]), but also in the animation. It's fairly 'chunky' in its angles, which I interpret as more appealing to male minds. Something like [i]Ah! In fact, I believe they respect the girl duelists as much as the boys. So I don't have too much of a problem in that area, but I don't really appreciate anyone who would cause such a problem. Just to clear it up, I don't have a fairy/harpie deck, in fact I perfer dragons and fiends over the dainty little fairies. Still, I don't know too many female duelists other than a friend of mine and some OBers. Ever since I bought my first YGO cards, I've been attempting a dragon deck, but now I'm on to a Spellcaster deck with a couple fairies. Before I just graduated, I was the ONLY FEMALE DUELIST IN THE 8TH GRADE! All my guy friends did`nt mind and treated me like I was a boy but they thought they could defeat me because I was a girl. All my girl friends hate yugioh excepy for Kurama-Fiend(loves yyh more than ygo) and another one of my girl friends. I mostly use Spellcaster`s, fiends,dragons, and warriors. To boot, these females are extremely flawed. The one I met at a sanctioned tournament played poorly, and was a bad sport. Bad combination. I saw her yelling at the little kid who beat her just before she left the store. The second is an extremely good duelist, one of the best, I dare say. However, she's got an extremely large ego, so it's not necessarily a good thing to compliment her... :blackeye: On the up side, my sister plays, but only because she thinks some of the cards look pretty. What's funnier is that she won't put any "ugly" cards in her deck, like trap hole. Her fun deck lacks focus, but her spellcaster deck cut through my Beatdown like a hot knife through butter. Her collection is also far superior to mine; she has three (three!!) Secret Rares, among many other goodies. I'm cool with that. Why would you think less of a duelist because of gender? I'd think less of a duelist if they cheated, stole cards or were harassing other players, but not just because they're a girl. But the faeries are useful.I use them for sacrifice,defense,healing and other such but I don't mainly use them for battle. I have quite a lot of magic cards.I love them because they are powerful.I love to upgrade my monsters and I have a lot of cards. I don't believe in "only boys" things.I am a tomboy and I don't deny it.I am involved in pretty much all the guys anime as much as others.I have in turn like Beyblades,Pokemon,Digimon,the DragonBall series.DB to DBZ to DBGT.And many others.I am a fan of all manga and anime in existence even if it should be an "only boys thing". Even though I don't duel or have cards, I would, the game is very interesting, and fun. ^^ There aren't many boys at my school that are stereotypical... Honestly, I do like some of the Fairie cards, I love the art on some of them. But, I love cards like the ones Bakura*, Bones*. and Malik has. Also, some of Weevle's and Rex's are pretty cool. ^^ For some reason, I'm often** told I'm not very girly, since I love violent moves, games, and other stuff that I "shouldn't like". o_O;; It's very moronic. But just because it's a stereotype, doesn't mean there aren't any people like that. There are many girls at my school that talk and talk about boys, makeup, and stuff like that. There is barely anyone, not to mention girls, who like YGO or the card game. I don't have much of a "real" duel deck (I only have the WWE GBA game), but Yugioh is is one of my top three favorite animes (the other two are Pokemon and Digimon), and I've especially seen that boy problem in the anime. Though, I think that a harpie deck such as Mai's wouldn't be that shabby. The only reason I have a wimpy duel deck is because I can't really convince my parents to buy me some of those cards... :o But in WWE, I have a kick-butt deck consisting of mostly spellcasters and warriors, and I'm the only girl, it seems, with ritual monsters in their deck. The only thing I hate is when I'm dueling a boy and I lose the duel because I get unlucky and draw the wrong cards at the wrong time (that sometimes happens to me). Now THAT'S embarrassing.
