They do it because maybe they haven't translated the episodes yet. I hate it too but I don't watch DBZ anymore - that's the reason.

They're re-staring with the Namek saga? Coolio. More Freiza.

Anyway, they're actually doing it because they need to sort out a whole list of new stuff to do...plus they finished DBZ, remember? So they're starting with Namek, but if I know correctly, if they're going to do anything new, they'll start running it right after the Freiza saga

Okay, so what? Jesus christ, get rid of dang series already. They finished it out, why have to go even that far back? God, meaning one thing, they are probably going to finish out the Freiza saga and end the show, hopefully. It's ridiculous how many times they have the same series playing with the same episodes with the same crappy animation and stupid story. Gosh, this really says something for all the American's who are obsessed with it at the moment.

I like the show merely for interesting fighting sceans. There is no story and no plot. The closest they ever came was durring the Androids/Cell saga, which was the culmenation of everything Toriyama had done and was very likely supposed to be the last season. Then someone offered them money to do Buu.

That is why I don't watch Cartoon Network anymore. It sucks. I just buy the dvds with the episode and the japenese episode and watch those. It is alot better I think.

PS: Oh and Frieza sucks.

CN never finished the complete run of earlier episodes because they aired the new ones. So, having run the end of DBZ several times, they did a favor to fans and newbies by going back and finishing up the run. For once, a good call from CN regarding the series.

I agree. I believe that they were on the episode in which
Freeza is chopped in pieces by his disc attack and Goku gives him some energy to live.
Right now, Cartoon Network is nowhere near that, but I think that it's a nice gesture to the few people in the world who haven't seen those episodes yet. Besides, it's not like Cartoon Network is gonna take it off the air anytime soon what with them proclaiming it as the "best action-cartoon in history."

Heh, I just stopped watchin it. They should get the point that peeps are sick and tired of it sooner or later anyway. Its about that time for em to start showin DBGT and new eps of DB anyway, so its no big deal if they just get rid of DBZ all together now.

Besides, as you can see by my sig and avatar, I'm more into Yu-Gi-Oh! now anyway. :D Hey, you cant mess wit Yami Malik. ^_^

I've seen enough constipated screaming powering up.. I want shows with substance. Evangelion and .hack are great examples. I've gotten stuffed in trash cans enough due to my Dragonball Z shirts I am forced to wear... I don't need another run of the whole series.

They're just saying it's the world's greatest action cartoon because it was so popular.. That's stupid, really. They're expressing their opinion as though it were a fact.

Thats why I stopped watching DBZ, Funimation takes too goddamn long to translate the episodes(Mostly because of censors). But that hasnt stopped me from seeing them all. I'm going to start watching it on TV again once GT starts. I also enjoy the movies from time to time.

No, FUNimation already translated the episodes for DBGT, they've dubbed most of them too, it's just they have things to deal with. It's called business:

They release tapes first. After all, how are they gonne make money on episodes if you only watch them on TV. CN pays them sure, but then CN gets all the rating while you never buy the tapes/DVDs of the episodes. This equals out to CN gaining a larger profit in the end, and FUNi, being the smart business people they are, won't have it that way. It's the same reason with every show they play... Kenshin for example... every damn episode of Kenshin has been dubbed in English, yet CN doesn't play them all. It may be ratings, it may be the fact the people who dubbed Kenshin (Pioneer?) doesn't send them any more episodes to play based on what THEY want to do for business. (ie: Pioneer and CN play an examount of episodes to get viewers interested, stop play, viewers want more, forced to buy DVDs of remaining episodes, more profit goes to Pioneer)

It's all business, and good business cause alot of you are buying the DBGT tapes. Even though you miss the first so many, and even though you know you can watch them for free in the next year or this year or whenever (I don't care). But you still buy them cause you are interested, and thus FUNi and CN have done their job and you as the consumer have done yours.

I should be a business major.

Yes, I think you should, Trans.

Either way, I like the Namek Saga. I would have preferred for them to start over at the Saiya-jin Saga [Wee...Kakarot vs. Vegeta!], but you all apparently, with the odd-man-out exceptions, would have hated it.

You know, if you don't like when they replay the series, you don't have to watch it. But I know for a fact at least ten people that like DBZ but have never seen before the Cell Saga.

Actaully, they call it 'the greatest action cartoon ever' because it kind of is.

All action. no drama, no plot, just all action. in theory, anyway.

Plus, I guess they think that 63 million fans can't be wrong. In fact, that was in a DBZ commercial before.

"63 million fans can't be wrong! 39 new episodes of Dragon Ball Z! Only Toonami."

Plus, give Toonami it's due credit. Without it, would you even know that DBZ existed?

...

Well, if you used to watch it when it aired on UPN, then yes, you would. But otherwise...probably not

As for weather or not I've seen the Cell saga...I have, after a fassion. I've seen Androids, Imperfect Cell, and Cell sagas. I'm waiting for the Cell Games to come out in a box set before moving on to World Tornement, then the Buus.

Speaking of which...which saga do you think more people have forgotten: the Garlic Saga, or the...I dunno what they call it. The one where Goku is in a tournement in Otherworld and fights Pikehan and stuff.

Well, you have to realize that DBZ is a very Hokie(sp?) show. It gets boring to someone who needs something other than just pure action. But I agree, the Garlic Saga was good. But..when you look back at it all, it's all the same.

The gang fights, the gang gets beaten. Goku comes to save the day, Goku hangs on by a thread, then he casts the Spirit Bomb at the last minute and all is well again. Hah. All always be a well known fan of Dragonball/Z/GT though, here me out.

Yep....and i'm one of them.

I haven't seen the Trunks, Android, Imperfect Cell, Cell, Cell Games, or Otherworld Tournament. missed half of the Garlic Jr. Saga, too. But.. enough with my crying *wipes tear away* *j/k* i think they auta skip straight to the Garlic Jr. Saga. Then, air al the was straight ot the last ep. of Kid Buu, then cut it. enough is enough.

OK here is why they are starting over from the Frieza Saga! They have already completed DBZ, so what is next? DBGT duuuhhh! So they started from really far back in the show to give themselves time to get DBGT ready! Plus I like the whole Android to World Games Saga so I would not mind seeing it again!

I agree that it is THEIR OPINION but I do not agree that .hack is better. I find that .hack is a way too complicated, piontless show.
Once again I'll state that that is just my opinion.

Aside from that, why not show the saiyan saga over again? those of us that watch the show and not the movies and dont tape it should be able to see the shows incase we missed an ep.
