Do you fear that when you wake up one morning, everything that once was would be unreal? It just seems really important to me because right now, I am living in a happy family... and I am afraid that things would be a dream. I just want to hear your opinions about it.

Well if this was posted here and I see it, it can't be a dream... can it?

I feel like that alot. Like now. I'm in Ottawa visiting my father but I don't wanna wake up back in Toronto...

Sometimes I feel as if my whole life is a dream. Nothing seems real to me anymore. I personally am not obsessed with the matrix enough to use it as my religion. Hmm that would be nice if it were real though ^_^ heh heh...

Edit: Just don't go jumping off any buildings now, we wouldn't want that.;)

I know you're joking btw...

I'm glad to hear you have found a place that makes you happy.

To start off, I guess the most important point to make would be to let you know that in Life there are good times, there are bad times and during no time do we have control over what life dishes out.
There are times when you think life could not get any better (but some how it does), and other times that you wish you were somebody else. All these thoughts are natural, and everybody has them.
I guess it's always best to be happy where you are and to enjoy what you have while you have it; the more time you spend worrying about losing something or someone, the less time you have to enjoy it/them.

Dreams are wonderful... life is real. Live. ^_^

Hmm... actually, I've thought the exact same thing, only, I couldn't really put it into words. >>;

*hands Celia a biiiig cookie*

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if all this actually is a dream, and when you die, you wake up from it, or something. Or if what everyone sees is different. My blue might be someone else's pink, and their pink might be someone else's purple. But when they say 'as blue as the sky', they still see another color. Maybe that's why people like different colors, because what they see is different, and... *trails off* x.x;;;;;

Heh - This thread is going to turn into, "What happens when you die"

Loved the Matrix (and movies similiar, What Dreams May Come, AI, BladeRunner), but finding any real relation between those movies and real life is, in my opinion, silly. Shrug.

P.S. You like your *biiiig cookie*'s don't ya Juu... hehe. ^_~

I really have had no fears of: "Everything I once thought wasn't real" because I don't dream. Second, on the rare occasions of which I do dream, I have a really cool dream of which I don't want to wake up.

I probably could care less. If I woke up, I would just write down the whole dream in detail somewhere, wait until I forgot it, then read it back to myself. That's what I do with all my cool dreams.

The interseting thing would be if this was all a dream....or what some people are saying "The Matrix" then would we see each other on the real side? Heh that'd be kinda freaky but cool.

Personally for most parts it'd be waking up from a nightmare so for me it'd be a welcoming thing to wake up, but I guess if others are happy I wouldn't wanna ruin all the fun.

I think it wouldn't be that bad. It would feel weird and sad if I woke up and found out that this is all a dream. But, sometimes dreams tend to last very long, maybe a span of days, while you've only slept for a few hours; think about how much ideas we're bringing to our awake self if this were a dream and if we can remember them. Rarely do I get dreams that feel real, but when I do, sometimes I mistakingly acknowledge them as events that happened, when they really didn't.

I see life a a path shrouded in the patterns of a dream. You walk along your path and it criss crosses with others. The patterns only play a role if you chose to observe and notice them and bend them to your will. Sorrta like being in the right place at the right time. And when you reach the end of the path...Well...(insert appropriate religious dogam here). Then you wake up from the dream world, and you understand the path, all that was, and all that was ment to be.

::sigh:: Wow..if all this were a dream...I sometimes fear of that. My life is, good now so I don't want to wake up...well, what i really fear is if I wake up and i'm like, five years old again..because i'd have to live everything over, and if i didn't do it just right, then my future would be different, and i may have died by the time i was 10, or something. Or either I knew everything that was going to happen up till 2003 and put in an insane assylum or something. That's what I really fear of..but i think it would be kinda cool to wake up from The Matrix. :)

When I was younger I had this idea of what if the entire world is the dream of something even bigger? Or even the universe?

I never really got any deeper with it, but these are questions that you can't really answer because they are totally theoretical and based on basically nothing.

If I woke up from this life, being it a dream, I couldn't live my real life. No way. I've gone through too much in this dream to go live in another life, that could be absolutely nothing like this life I'm living, or supposedly dreaming, now. It's not it being a dream that I fear, it's waking up in a completely different life, to the life I'm in now.

So, I guess you are on the side of telepathy being impossible? This question is one of the reasons some scientists and "others" (i.e., the mental, psychoes, etc.) question if telepathy is real in the first place, nevermind a person actually having it. If all persons' thoughts and brain functioned differently, even just by a bit, it would be way too much for another person to handle. Haha, yeah, that's sidetracking too much... Besides, you'd be refreshed from a very long dream. You would have slept like a rock, and ready to take on "reality!" In all seriousness, though, it's impossible to believe this life is a dream. Really, there are too many things in "my dream" that I would have never come up with myself.

LoL like from my favorite anime movie, all you gotta do is see the ending to Cowboy Bebop the Movie and it says it all. I believe its possible that we are living in a dream world. Anything is possible and probably no one will truly be able to figure out the answer to this question. Its better left unanswered anyway, just think about it. Would you make some of the choices in life, if you knew that this wasnt reality we are living in right now? If scientists are able to find a fundemental theorem to this answer in the future than I will be practically amazed. Until then i just think its a possibility.

Sure it's possible. I belive the whole universe is nothing but some ones dream. I realy don't fear that every thing is a dream. I would live and act as if nothing was new because nothing realy supprises me any more.

wow, i've had this exact same thought for so long, i mean down to the last syllable, i've always thought that, it's hard to explain without ppl looking at you funny though. . .

i always sorta had this feeling that what i'm living is all a dream, waking up, i don't know. i mean, what will i wake up to, even though this life is poo i know what i am, i know what i'll be, i've found my way, sorta, in this life. i don't think i'd like to start all over again. . .

I rather my life right now would be a dream. All that mistakes I made in the past would clear out. And my life is not even happy when everyone around me is so nice. I really wish that life can be rewinded like a tape...
