[b]No, it isn't about actual pennies. I'm not that dense.

Anyways, my grandma recently had a streak of, well, weird happenings.

She heard on tv that if you want to know if a family member and/or friend that has passed on is watching you, to ask them to leave something around.

Well, my grandma's favorite uncle, Allen, died a while ago. She asked him to leave pennies.

You know what? She's found one everyday since.

And, I know, they could just be lying around. But, what if it is Uncle Allen?

Have you had any experiences of this?

It's the small things that tend to stand out, from my perspective.

I've had that happen to me before. When my grandmother died, I prayed that I might see a feather from a bird on the ground every time she was watching over me, and every now and then, I do. It's probably just a coincidence, but I feel she is. *shrugs*

Well my dog died recently and my mom wanted to get another dog. So she asked my aunt to be on the lookout for boxers in Virginia. My aunt asked the vet and he said he knew of some people with puppies. The dogs will be ready about the time we go up to Virginia this summer. Yesterday my mom was talking about getting an invisible fence for the dog and we got an add in the mail for one today...My aunt is convinced that it's my grandma, but I think she's crazy if she believes that...heh, oh well at least we're getting a new dog.

My parents would tell me when I was younger, that the stars were windows in the sky, and that everyone that went to heaven had a star of their own. They said to look for the biggest star in the sky, and when I finally made up my mind on which star I could find was the biggest, they said that nan was looking out of it. That she was watching us.

We used to call her "Nana". Ever since then, I've felt as if it's true. I don't know, I could ask her to leave something around for us to know, I just don't really feel the need to.

Hmm... if it works with pennies, why not ask them to leave cookies behind instead? o.o;

But that is interesting. I never heard of anything like that before. How does it work, exactly? Do you bury the pennies with them, or... oo'

The first thing I thought about after reading that was how the Greeks would put coins in the mouths of those people who died, so they'd have the fare to pay to get across this river in the underworld. If the people didn't pay their fare, they wouldn't be able to rest, and would come back to haunt their family for not giving them the fare.

But I don't know anyone who died yet... soo...

The other day the man who was renting an efficiency in my aunt's house told her that while she was out of the house a man came looking for her. He was dressed in a white suits and white socks, no shoes. She remembered that was how my uncle was buried so out of curiosity she showed him some pictures and he said he was absolutely sure that the man was my dead uncle. The guy says my uncle said he'd be back for her later. . .O_ostrange stuff like this happens to her quite a bit, and not just my uncle, but her son too.

Hmm. I have never heard of asking loved ones that have passed away to leave things.

However I do believe that my grandmother may be watching over our entire family (aunts, uncles, cousins, et al.) from time to time.

When you look at how everything in life in connected to everything else it is not hard to believe that things like this can happen. I have not seen proof for or aginst such events, but that just means it has never been disproven to me.

I've never had THAT sort of things happen to me but a couple of years ago. (when i played gameboys and lived in my old house) Every night at midnight out of the corner of my eye I'd see a shadow of a man walk by my room. No joke. But only out of the corner of my eye. if I sat and waited for him he wouldn't come...

I experienced my first close death last year, as many of you recall. Of course, you may also recall why I didn't care for him much, (very long story) though he seemed to love me. I have yet to see any sign of that, penny or otherwise.

I also had two customers I cared a lot about pass away this past year. No signs from them either...

I don't know if the penny/feather/whathaveyou works, simply for the fact of the matter that it's never happened to me. (Isn't that a funny analogy for faith? O_o)

I am reading this at 9:37 at night and this is really freaking me out! -_-;

But my mom always burns fake money and all that kind of stuff to my unborn sister. My mom said that if you don't burn things to her, she would bother us all...

I think I am starting to believe in this type of things.

Well, I can understand of you are told that that someone has died without you being there, but leaving things? Nope... never heard of it, and never encountered it. I pick up pennies almost every day, and so does my grandmother. So I doubt it.

From a Christians point of view, once a person has died, they are no longer on this earth. They have left, and will not come back. They are at a waiting place, either known as paradise, or hades. Perferably paradise. They are not actually in heaven or hell, as everyone would enter those two at the same time. If you were to die, or nearly die, or die and come back alive, you would probably see them. So just be patient. All questions are answered in death.

Hmm....interesting...I've had a near death thing before....I fell off the top of this building while working and hit the cement...I was knocked unconcious, that's what my friends said...

Then again those penny things could just be quinky-dinks, y'know?
