Does anybody know what I can do for my headaches. I can't Tylenol, Motrin, or anything like that. My mom thinks I take too much and will become a drugactic. I once took 2 Advils, 1 Tylenol Cold Day, and 1 regular Tylenol in like 3 hours. That was the last time she let me take it. So I need something else to get rid of my headaches. Anybody got any remedies.

Ok I don't sleep well so the operation thing is a no. The pills work sometimes but the headache comes back after a few minutes. Maybe sometimes an hour.

For me, headaches tend to calm down when they're faced with the cause of them. I usually lay down, and put on some loud music, and the headache settles down and lets me go to sleep.

You know how if you're run down, wornout, overdone, you can feel a headache is going to hit you. Then you sit down, and it hits you full on. And you're for the rest of the day paralysed. If you kept going, running around, whatever you were doing, while taking a Panadol or two at it, it wouldn't have hit. Just stayed around until you took a Panadol, and it's gone after a while.

If you can feel it's going to hit you, take some medicine before it hits, and it's gone. If it hit without warning, don't try and relax it off, or it'll hit even harder and stay longer. Take some medicine and keep doing what you were doing, it'll go away.

...:toothy:. Sorry man, got this advice from a counsellor a week ago and it's worked for me.

I can't take any medicine. I have nowhere to get it from unless I sneak it church from someone. That means I ask for it. My mom stopped letting me take pills cause I took too many at one time. So now whenever I get a headache I have to sit there and go through it without preventing it or stopping it.

well, i get migraines and what i do if i don't want to drug myself up (which is rare) is i take really hot showers, it sorta sooths me and such. hehe, you know what's funny, my mom encourages pill-popping. i don't have to be sick and she'll be like, here take this and give me like 4 mystery pills. (i don't take 'em)

Ok, then try listing to classical music. It's ment to help relax you and make you think claerly and help when your head hurts. Just don't listen to the loud classical music that makes your blood rise. And ways I think I'd work, the SLOW music from the Nut Craker should work.

My advice to you is to convince your mom that Tylenol and all that aren't adictive.
Why don't you try telling her?

Go to a doctor! You should do that immediately! Constant reoccuring headaches can be caused by several things, and most of them are life-threatening or permanently damaging. If you get an occasional headache here and there, then it's a different story. However, if you have headaches that happen for an extremely long period of time and consistently return, then you better get yourself checked. Most common causes are cancer and stress.

Put either a cold washcloth on your head, warm if it's a migraine. Lay down and try to relax while listening to soft music or sleep. The important thing is to reduce the noise and choas level around you. And if you have a hangover, you deserve it....hope this helps.

Not trying to scare ya' or anything, but you probably should go to a doctor. My friend's mom had reoccuring headaches and migraines that wouldn't go away and it turned out she had a cyst(sp?) pressing against her brain, if she hadn't of gone she would have gone blind. Then my dad had that and they figured out he had seizure activity in his brain. So I personally would recommend a doctor...

Oh gosh! I always have headaches like that as long as I can remember.

The doctor said that a blood vessel in my head is reducing its size. So I recommend you to see a doctor because if it's becoming severe, then uh oh... Or rub the place on your head that hurts. I usually take a hot bath and then go to bed..... for a loong time.

Even though I really don't recomend going to the doctor, that seems to be the norm of opinion around here. I have bad re-occuring headaches myself and they say that there is nothing causing them.

Medication usually doesn't help anyway. It just makes you think it helps. I can't tell you what to do, but what not to do.

First of all, go to a quiet, airy room. Noises makes headaches worse, and so does air pressure.

Next, lower the level of light in the room, so it is semi-dark. Not so dark that your pupils have to maximumly dialate. That's not a word, but don't do it anyway.

Do not look at a computer, or TV. These are the 2 worst things to do when you have a headache. 3rd worse, though not as bad, is reading something.

Do not keep your ray of vision upward. Staring up always made my headaches worse. Tilted, yes. Up, no.

If you wan't some kind of entertainment, maybe listen to the music, and don't put it too loud, or sit far away from a TV, and have another light on.

Avoid thinking about stressful things, or things you need to think a whole lot about, like puzzels.

If you are going to put a wet cloth on your head, only put a cool, or warm cloth. Perferably cool. Too much of a temperature change would make your headache worse.

Avoid strong smells, such as bacon, or gasoline.

Now, for a migrane, do most of the stuff above. Except...

What level you keep your ray of vision doesn't matter. Look up as much as you want.

Avoid mainly light, as that is the part of which most migranes are the most sensitive.

Sit on a very stable, sturdy chair. The motion sickness that comes with a migrane is the second worst part. If you have a stable bed, go for it.

Do not look at the TV, computer, or read, period. These things will make the hours-long migrane last longer, and hurt more. Go for sound activities.

Avoid hot temperatures.

Now, for a migrane, medication will NOT work. Migranes must leave on their own.

Now, if this doesn't help you, then there is nothing I can do.

I recommend Neurofen (i think that's the right spelling), usually works for me within 30 minutes.
If you can't get that then turn off everything electrical and put on some chillout music or whatever you find relaxing.

If you want something that isn't a drug, try taking a few Vitamin B6 supplements every day. I used to have terrible migranes fairly frequently but since I started taking them I've not had one in about a year. They help boost your seratonin levels.

The headaches can be caused by a number of things, even changes in temperature sometimes. Be sure to drink lots of water to prevent you from getting dehydrated and don't eat too much sugary stuff.

Can't be in a quiet place. I have a phone in my room and everytime it rings. It wakes me up or scares me. I can't turn off the ringer or turn it down. It's really loud and my brother is constantly getting calls from his friends and girlfriend. And bill collectors are calling every five minutes. So the only quiet place is outside but I can't stay out there long because it's really hot. Between 75-110 everyday.

 • 4 weeks later...
Since there's some problem with my brain, I get alot of migranes. One almost made me pass out. Well, There were some times in school were either I couldn't get a hold of anyone to get me medicine or my teacher thought I was lying and wouldn't let me get any (oh did he get screamed at, by the other teachers AND my mother!) I just held my head, and looked down. I cover my eyes to because light makes it worse. Same with noise. Lay in a dark place. That works.
