Sandy
I'm not sure if this should be here or the music section, but I reckon it'll get more attention here. Now, since I've temporarily been on a fast computer, I've been listening to all these Midi-files from Final Fantasy series. I've developed a total addiction to FFX-2 theme songs Real Emotion and 1000 Words (1000 No Kotoba). But they aren't what I'm looking for. Though I haven't played Kingdom Hearts, I heard the music on the commercial, and it stayed haunting me ever since. So I've spent today searching for the song, and I found out it was called Simple and Clean (Hikari in Japanese). But unfortunately I was only able to find a small clip of the English version, and I'm dying to hear more! Both the English and Japanese version. Another song I'm seeking is Suteki Da Ne (spelling?) from FFX. I've seen the lyrics, and I've heard the melody, but I haven't heard a sang version. It's very confusing, since there is lyrics to the song... So if anybody knows a site/sites where I could be able to hear these two songs, I'd be thrilled - not to mention forever grateful! :D In general, I've only now come to realize how fantastic the music is in the Squarenix-games - especially in FF! Maybe it's because I'm not very musical person, but somehow the musics have always been just part of a magnificent entity to me, not single parts.
Semjaza
Well, you might as well just say Square with the stuff you mentioned lol. There's nothing from Enix at all in there, and all of that stuff was before the merger even existed. I don't really know how many of you guys play Enix games though, as it seems like there are very few of you here lol. Personally, I think Koichi Sugiyama owns any other videogame composer there is. He is mostly known for the Dragon Quest series, which in my opinion has the best music out of any video game series there is. If you're interested, there are plenty of arranged and orchestrated versions of the songs from DQ games. I'm hoping DQ8 makes use of orchestrated versions rather than midis yet again. Your best bet for those two tracks you wanted is on #gamemp3s on IRC.
GinnyLyn
I'll agree with Sage. There's been some excellent FF music running around. 7's intrigued me with its haunting undertones of small hope, but 9's was way weird, IMO. Both ChronoTrigger and ChronoCross (also by Square) had simply amazing music, as far as I am concerned. I got my first OST due to FFX, though. Occasionally, I'd pick a track or song from a game here or there (ChronoCross, Kingdom Hearts, FFs), but X's was, again IMO, simply wonderful. I've noticed that the OST doesn't exactly follow the game order, but instead tells an orchestrated version of FFX by the order (if that makes sense). I've gotten a few more OSTs since, but I've been somewhat disappointed with them. I'd love to get ahold of a remixed, orchestrated (preferrably non-MIDIish version) of ChronoTrigger's entire soundtrack. I'd buy that second in an instant. conpiracymonki
I like Chrono Cross music more than Chrono Trigger music, lol. Mainly because CC has most of the CT music in it remixed anyhoo, lol. *was just listening randomly to the CC Otherworld un-Midi just 5 minutes ago* Coincidence o.o
Epitome
I like all the Square music. Kingdom Hearts, FF, all those games have awesome music. Especially in KH when you are about to battle and the music like fades out and then becomes intense. I also like music fromm FF, especially the battle music. It has an intense feeling to it. Sniglefager
I'm not sure if you still need it Sage, but I do have the Simple and Clean mp3, but I don't know what site I got it from because I'm on my mom's comp (mine's messed up right now), but I'll probably be able to find the website by next weekend.
