Moro
got every single ball and weakened him enough but just can't catch!!:demon: :demon: anybody got anything to help?
Desbreko
Which version are you playing? If you're playing G/S/C, Speed Balls would probably work the best. And putting it to sleep or paralyzing it also helps, in addition to weakening it. Catching any Pokémon involves luck, though, so just be patient.
Ryan
I would say to put it to sleep then weaken it with a really weak water pokemon like a Poliwag or something like that, but to not faint it. Make sure that Poliwag's level is lower than Arcanine's by a lot. Then use a Fast Ball or Ultra Ball. I would try that.
Moro
......Ryan....YOU DON'T USE WATER POKE'MON!!!! I did with Shelder and it made Arcanine faint and run away. -_-"
Vicky
I have the answer: Cheat! Get a cheat cartaridge and find cheats. Get loads of master balls! Nah, try this: Poison it and just use really weak attacks on it. Then just leave the poison to take its health down. The use a really fast/striong ball. Try that, or cheat. LastSheikah
I don't know if this really works, but for some reason lowering the Pokemon's defense and attack always works for me. Try that along with the lowering HP and trying top make it fall asleep and stuff. Or you can find a Growlithe and train it up a lot.
Ryan
Originally posted by Moro ......Ryan....YOU DON'T USE WATER POKE'MON!!!! I did with Shelder and it made Arcanine faint and run away. -_-"
Well, it worked for me when I just caught an Aracanine on my blue version with a weak Poliwag. Maybe your Shelder's level was just too close to Aracanine's. New idea, try getting a Scyther or Scizor who knows False Swipe. Scyther or Scizor's level has to be higher than Arcanine's then just use False Swipe, it leaves the defending pokemon with 1 hp left. Then use an Ultra Ball, and there is your Arcanine.:) PS: Moro, did Arcanine faint and then run away??;)
Fall
Use a Rock type Pokemon, for example, Geodude, or Graveller, against him. Fire doesn't really hurt Rock type Pokemon, as does Rock to Fire type Pokemon. You could also use a Pokemon where the attributes are even, where Fire isn't effective against your Pokemon, and your Pokemon isn't effective against Fire. DON'T use a Water type Pokemon, it will either run off, or you'll faint it. Put it to sleep with a Phsycic type move, or a Poison type move to poison/put it to sleep, and use a Fast Ball, or Ultra Ball. They tend to be the most effective. When a defending Pokemon is asleep, or poisoned, and Ultra Ball will hold it if the HP is low enough. A Fast all will do the same with the HP, yet it won't hold the Pokemon if the Pokemon is too strong in Level. Hope that makes some sort of sense... :drunk:

Desbreko
Okay, I think this thread is getting a little repetitive. People are saying basically the same thing over and over again; there's not that many ways to catch a Pokémon, and all of them have been covered here. (Not to mention that using a Fire Stone on a Growlithe is kind of an obvious way to get an Arcanine. This thread is about catching one, though).
