She sighed and passed a swift hand over his eyes. Instantly, he fell into a dark and dreamless sleep, with no memories of the past twenty four hours. Vondeux snapped her fingers. The guards came and quietly took him to his room. She shook her head and massaged her temples. Kynjaka came up behind her, resting his hands on her soulders.

She looked down, a half smile on her face. Then back up to him from over her shoulder.

Vondeux: He's young.

Kynjaka: And shrimpy.

Vondeux: ...incase you didn't notice, he's a white elf. They're not trained for Anything but servitude.

Kynjaka: I assume that's all he's good for.

Vondeux: He's good at being nice.

She grinned at him and turned around. He embraced her, picking her up at the same time.

Ariel sat thinking, not wanting to watch anymore, she turned away, but the images were still there. Another important key point to know, young white elves do not as much as their elders. They may be filled with jealousy. Ariel waved a hand over the mirror, but somehow Vondeux's spell was overpowering hers. Ariel sat there, feared yet, somehow learning.

"So many things to learn, so many things to know. *sigh* If this is what Vondeux intended for me to watch, then watch I must. And as I watch, I must learn. I do not know what Vondeux wants me to learn, but something may come up. I just hope, she won't get hurt."

Kynjaka looked down at her, his pulse still high. He suddenly turned away, keeping her in her arms.

Kynjaka: Whetting bloodlust is normally not a good idea when you have other ideas.

Vondeux: Not enough blood for you?

Kynjaka: Not enough death...

Vondeux: We could bring in a slave.

Kynjaka: How complacent. No, that's not what I want. I want a real fight. Pure adrenalin based, fear pulsing death.

Vondeux: There are gladiator fights...

Kynjaka: That'll do.

Kynjaka, looking more angry than normal, flexing his fingers as if he wanted to evicerate someone with them. He stalked out, leaving Vondeux to follow as she would. Hopefully, someone interesting would be in the bouts.

Iolanthe turned, her wings pulled in as small as she could make them, pressing them against her back like wrinkled skin. The figure walked out from the doorway and stood in the shadow of a support, watching her. She watched back.
She imagined her skin to be blinding in the light, and if she kept facing him, he may not notice her wings.
Minutes past. Iolanthe concentrated on making herself appear small, fragile, scared. The minute audience shuffled, whispering. A door slammed and another pair sat down behind her.

The sun had now shifted so that she stood in shadow. Feeling the rush of cold, Iolanthe tensed. Her assumption proved correct - the figure took this time to walk out slowly towards her. He was very tall, very muscled, and completely covered in armour. They stood face to face a second or two more, and Iolanthe laughed and threw her dagger on the dust, at the sight of his armour. The opponant chuckled under the layers of metal. A bond was formed.
More minutes past. Iolanthe stood there, looking up at the mazing structure of the building.

Opponant: Been here before?

Iolanthe: No, actually, I've been living on the surface until today.

Opp: You know you're here to kill me.

Iolanthe: I know.

Opp: This is a hearing, isn't it? No roaring crowds?

Iolanthe: Yeah... so I've been told...

A pause.

Opp: It would be a pity to get killed on a hearing.

Iolanthe: Why's that? Is your life worth looking forward to?

The opponant thought for a while, and sighed.

Opp: No, I guess it isn't.

Iolanthe: Good.

With this, she reached up and removed the opponant's helmet while he looked over her head. It was a man. Startled, he glanced down to see that she was only a girl, a child, small... frail... gloriously sexy. She wasn't wearing a shirt, either. Suddenly, the battlefeild was gone and they were alone, him and her, the prospect of having her sweet flesh pressed against him near enough to taste.
Iolanthe turned and bent, jumping off one leg and kicking the man in the face as she semi-cartwheeled and picked up her dagger, landing on her feet. The kick had been enough to throw the gladiator off balance, but not to injure him. He reached for his sword, taking far too long to draw it. By the time the tip of the blade had cleared the scabbard, Iolanthe had continued the turn and leapt forward, latching onto his upper torso with her legs and driving the dagger blade as far as she could into his left eye. It was over in seconds, and Iolanthe released him has he fell backwards into the dust.

The audience sat still, silent, shocked. This was not a fight, it was a flash. No good, too short. Iolanthe wasn't watching their disgusted faces, she was looking into the well of blood at her feet. Crouching over his chest, she removed the dagger from his eyesocket and began hacking at his neck, removing the head within a short while. Then, taking the bleeding mass into her arms, she sat with it in her lap and began peeling off the face, making a long incision around the base of the skull and removing the scalp. That done, she ripped the remaining flesh off with her nails and teeth, and jumped up, continuing the movement into the air until she was level with the couple who had arrived late. One of them was not drow, sitting back and watching with interest. The other, a regal looking woman, stared into Iolanthe's eyes with lethal warning. This must be the priestess....

...the crossbow bolt twanged free of the weapon in time for Iolanthe to pull back the skull and hurl it, as hard as she could, into the monarch's head. The shock of pain to Iolanthe's thigh stole the pleasure of seeing how the woman would react, as she stared into the retreating sky, hurtling to the ground for the second time that week.

Vondeux didn't bat an eyelid, she merely watched, her expression never changing. Years of being her had jaded it to the point of no return. Her companion on the other hand, looked very interested. Good thing they were in a private box. Her servant was kneeling nearby, occupying herself with a set of gem tablets. Vondeux yawned and looked up at the dark roof.

Kynjaka: Do you come here often?

Vondeux: No.

Kynjaka: Why not?

Vondeux: I prefer my own battles.

Kynjaka: ....I see.

She looked at him, then back to the servant, her third eye contracting slightly. Rhain looked up and left quickly. Vondeux smiled to herself. The servant appeared from the steps up to her box, holding a tray holding a jug of rather passable wine and a box of almond wafers. Vondeux took her glass and two of them. She indicated it with her head and Kynjaka took one between his fingers.

Ariel's images faded away. All was done, but little was answered. Ariel was still curius about the pleasure of sexual intimacy. From what she had seen, all she knows is that some like pain and enjoy others suffering and others well, she doesn't know that yet. She has yet to experience first hand. After watching Vondeux and the demon...Ariel had gotten more attracted to the subject. Not only did she want to learn how to seduce a male species, but how to make them so that they obeyed everything you said. She also wanted to learn firsthand. Since Vondeux was...busy at the moment, it was not a good time to ask. She would have to wait until Vondeux called Ariel to her. Ariel layed down on her stomach, thinking about the pleasures and joys of....sex. She wondered whether or not it was something she would enjoy. Vondeux enjoys every bit of it, but Ariel is only a part of Vondeux, actually...not one gene in Ariel's body is the same as Vondeux's. Only their goals. Ariel wanted so much to learn firsthand...if Vondeux would approve.

Iolanthe lay still on the ground as the medicated dart seeped up into her head, making her happy with the things that were happening. Such things as being slung over a shoulder, marched into the dark... being thrown on a wooden slab and ranted at by Wynnard...

Wynnard: You stupid *****! First of all, a fight is meant to be a fight. You don't just drop a guy, its not fair. Another thing - when another person walks into the arena after you, you fight him. You don't stand there and chat, and make freinds. Thirdly...

Iolanthe blew a raspberry at the ceiling and watched it float around infront of the funy man's face. Wynnard sighed and pulled the dart from her leg, inspecting it and finding it to be the strength used for a full grown man, not a small female drow. She was off her face.

Wynnard: I'll repeat this and continue when you've come down. I hope this stuff doesn't kill you...

Iolanthe: Where are you going, my pony? I love you!

Coupling this with a few waves of her hands, as if to clear the air of cobweb, Wynnard swore loudly and stormed out. Iolanthe chuckled to herself and continued to chase the raspberry, which was morphing into a little tiny ball of twine.[

Kynjaka looked thoughtfully at Vondeux. There was a slight narrowing of the eyes, showing she hadn't taken the offense all that well. Kynjaka drained the glass, and sat there twirling the stem between his fingers a moment. Kynjaka let his gaze drift back to the now empty arena, the defiant gladiator now invisible. The crowd, however, was still cheering their appreciation of both the tactics and the antics.

Kynjaka made a snap decision, and turned, motioning a servant up. He kept motioning until the unfortunate male was quite close, until he was leaning over, his head between Kynjaka and Vondeux. Kynjaka abruptly broke the wine glass over the man's head, spraying blood and shards all over Vondeux. He shoved the man onto her, and sprang forward, decimating the box, and giving the crowd their second view of a strange flying creature.

He landed on the sand easily, ignoring the catcalls, and walked in through the heavy door the gladiator had been dragged in. He followed a straight hallway, and was nearly run into by an infuriated looking drow. He started to swear at Kynjaka, then realised he was talking to a rather large demon. Kynjaka smiled banefully at him, recognising him as the man involved in dragging the gladiator off. He stepped aside, and walked through the door.

The gladiator lay on a bed. Kynjaka turned, and sealed the door behind him.

She smiled to herself and picked the glass from her body. Another guard came and casted a repairing spell on the box, then bowed and apologized. She rolled her eyes at him and waved him off.

Vondeux wasn't really upset, what else could be expected from a capricious demon? So he wanted to meet her. What a surprise. It wouldn't be the first time any creature had randomly wanted to see the gladiators up close. The servant was completely out, and she let him sit on the floor until his mind came back. In the meantime, she took out her ledger and began tallying the various things she would need for her next party. Food, wine, good company, entertainment.....well, she did have the demon, provided he didn't bash any heads in.

No drugs of course....her parties were rumored by the jealous and uninitiated to be boring and long. When in reality they were simply cultured and well manered. Very different from the usual orgasmic cheerful parties in which everybody loved everybody for a single night. Warm baths, but not group orgies. The wild cheering of the crowd woke her from her thoughts and brought her back to the living world. A huge underground dragon slithered into the arena. From the other side came a tall succubus. Three claws, two huge wings.

Vondeux blinked. It had been awhile since her dear friend had faught. She smiled and leaned back. Finally something she would want to watch.

Iolanthe got bored with the rasberry after a while... it had developed an annoying pattern and there were more interesting things to look at in the room. Like the big black thing, which had walked in the gate and was standing over her lying in the long grass. In fact, Iolanthe speculated, the grass might be so long she may not be visible to the thing. How exciting.
Iolanthe lay very still and pressed herself into the grass, waiting a while. The creature still looked down over her. Then, unexpected by everyone including Iolanthe, she sat up quickly and shouted "Bleah!" at the thing, surprising even herself and shrieking a split second before her initial yelp. The thing didn't flinch, rather smile, revealing teeth.

Iolanthe: I didn't think you'd see me through the grass. Did I scare you?

Thing: Yes, you are scaring me a little. Are you ok?

Iolanthe: Bored. My rasberry is adopting a particularly uninteresting pattern.

Thing: I see.

Iolanthe decided that it would be at this point she should try to stand. Swinging her legs over the side and looking down, thousands of feet down to a valley of broken glass, she yelped again and placed her feet back on the table. The fact that the open medow she was lying in a minute ago was now a dank cellar didn't phase her.

Kynjaka watched her a while, growing tired of her drug haze. He stepped forward, and put a humanoid hand on her head. She arched under his hand, as eldritch fire ran through her veins, cleansing the blood of impurities. She shuddered back onto the bed as he let go, and when she opened her eyes, she was again coherent.

"I take it that you desired some lucidity"

Kynjaka: Not really. I just thought you'd prefer to be in control of yourself again.

"That's a nice thing to do"

Kynjaka: And there I was thinking it was the ether doing that.

"Afraid not. Why are you here, anyway?"

Kynjaka: You seem preferable to my last company. A little too much heat would most likely be attracted by extended liasons.

"Then you attach yourself to a random gladiator?"

Kynjaka: Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Iolanthe: And now how does it seem?

He didn't answer. Smiling, Iolanthe sat up and shook her head, taking out her hair and massaging her scalp. Through the curtain of her hair she checked this creature out... hard to explain to herself, but she liked it. Wynnard had placed her things on the end of the slab and she redressed herself, standing and stretching her wings before replacing the cloak. Her wings didn't fit into the room, so she had to walk over to one side and stretch them one at a time, turning to do the other. They still didn't fit, and this made her annoyed and claustraphobic.

Iolanthe: So, you didn't answer. How does it seem?

"Well. Everything seems fine."

Iolanthe: You know your way around this building?

"Not really, but I'll be willing to try."

Iolanthe: Well, my keeper has run off somewhere and I am not in a good mood with him. I also need to get outside. Could you help me with this, oh large black thing without a name?

"My name is Kynjaka. Yours?"

Iolanthe: No, my name Iolanthe.

Smiling, she strode out of the room and waited for her new found aquaintance to follow, searching for Wynnard. His plump form appeared down the hall, and he spotted her as she was turning to catch up with Kynjaka, who walked out of the room and straight down the hall. Wynnard probably yelled something, but Iolanthe didn't think it mattered. She could live without a fancy room and expensive bed, and she could accept no freedom if it was going to be fun. Iolanthe could not have fun on her own.

Offending a Val'Shagress and appropriating a most likely wanted gladiator...Kynjaka wouldn't be surprised, or even concerned, if that reward increased somewhat. He smiled anyway, and slowed his pace, allowing the dagouret to catch up.

They reached the door with surprisingly little interference. The survival focused drow weren't exactly eager to stop a dagouret and a rather large glabrezu though, so perhaps it wasn't surprising.

They stepped out into Menzoberranzen, Iolanthe taking to the air for a few moments to stretch her wings.

Kynjaka: I have a place we can hole up for a while, until we work out exactly what we're in for.

Iolanthe: You think anyone will pay attention?

Kynjaka: They always pay attention. They don't always act, but they always pay attention. And I just walked out on a rather expensive deal, with a person who seemed rather set on keeping me around.

A ward went off, and she smiled. So he had really left. Oh well. Not like there were any other Val'Shagress's that would bother going after him, and she didn't mind. She hadn't even paid him. Oh well. Kelnoz's employers could try taking it back, but would probably be killed......by her hands too. She walked out of her box, Rhain following. Women greeted her, nobles bowing and smiling and such. True to her rank, she paid them what they deserved, a smile and little else.

When she reached her home, via levitation and a speed spell, she found it in good order. She handed her Steward the list she had composed, and he set off. She losened her hairpins and walked into her room. Taking off her heavy circlet, setting it down, then moving on to her nobility clothes. Heavy and cumbersome, but sometimes very useful. She slipped into something lighter, made of spider's weave, and put on her silver circlet instead. Then she walked into her throne room and sat down. Rhain was excused, she could barely keep her eyes open as it was. The slave that had been knocked out was humiliated, and sold. She picked at her nails, while her guard reported to her.

"Found him with a Dragouret, going back to where you apprehended him, then I lost him."

"I know he was with her. I also know he's got a hard time shielding his mind. I read it during our time together."

"You did M'lady?"

"Yes I did. Dismissed."

She felt the points of her teeth with her tongue. There was no need to do anything further. She never said she would bind him to herself....but she never said she wouldn't. They had shared blood, and in the process, bonded. He wouldn't be able to leave her completly, return to the surface, or get any further than the Underdark. Oh joy.

"......poor little dear."

Coran sat in his dark cage watching a spider scurry across the floor. It was then the trainer came in with three guards, he was a hideous sight his entire face covered in scars and a nose that was merely a lump of flesh from being broken so often, he also liked to scream at the slaves ?Half breed!? Coran slammed his hand against the floor as he looked up and with a small grin on his face waved to his jailer, clearly showing the remains of the spider he just crushed. The drow gave him a look that told him the only reason he wasn?t being beaten for that was because he had to fight soon ?You?re fighting today.? With that a guard walked up unlocked Coran?s cage and handed over his weapons and vest.

Coran walked up and to the gate. He walked into the arena to the cheering of the crowd and gazed upon his foe. His enemy was an ogre wielding a massive mace in his hand. ?Better not get hit with that? thought the half-elf as he unsheathed his rapier and long dagger and moved into his fighting stance putting his sword forward and his dagger up and back ready to lash out in a stab or slash at any moment. The beast charged him swinging its weapon in a back handed swing meant to knock Coran?s head from his shoulders. The fighter ducked this blow and spun around to the ogres back, his dagger putting a gash in it?s leg as he did so, and backed out of the things reach as it spun around trying to connect with another swing, this failing the ogre lunged at him attempting to grab Coran with it?s free hand and break his neck. Coran?s blade flashed out three times rapidly and the stupid creature was short five fingers. This caused the ogre to attack even more viciously with a series of swings that the half-elf ducking sidestepping and backing up franticly to avoid being hit with the oversized weapon in the things hand. It was during this time the ogres leg gave out due to the wound it received earlier, it hit the ground with a thud and struggled in vain for a few moments to get to it?s feet. Coran sighed he hated killing a foe that couldn?t fight back but the drow would let no one leave until one of the combatants were dead, he walked over and quickly and silently cut the things throat.

He headed back to his cell after handing his gear over to the guards. After he was in he heard a gruff voice with a heavy dwarveish(sp?) accent call out to him from the next cell in human ?So what did ye get stuck killing today?? Coran looked over at the mountain dwarf Drugar Waraxe, one of the few gladiators belonging to his master that he was on friendly terms with, a veteran of roughly(he lost count) 50 years experience in the arena, and one of the four slaves plotting to escape very soon. ?An ogre if you must now and this one was dumb even for an ogre.? He laid back on the blanket he used as a bed and continued? I really need to get out of here though I?m sure you and Calis are even more sick of this place than me.? The dwarf laughed through his beard ? Of coarse we are we?ve been down here over 20 times as long as you, though the elf was sick of it the first day and has yet to stop complaining. But don?t worry the big fights coming up soon and that?s where we?ll make are get away, that is if we can keep fido from opening his big snout.? The younger fighter chuckled at this ?Good night.? ?Night boy.?
(OOC. Sorry this took so long to post I?ve been a little busy lately. I didn?t post the name of my master?s house because I don?t know any drow names so first one to mention decides. And lastly please ask before killing one of my NPCs.)

Kynjaka felt his veins constrict slightly, borne away by etheric force. The ***** had blood-bonded him. No matter.

Kynjaka: I recommend you sever your ties rather quickly.

Iolanthe: Hmmm?

Kynjaka: Don't worry.

He pierced the tip of his finger, and lay a drop of blood on Iolanthe's shoulder, inconspicuously. He then let his body drain away, back into his own plane. The connection with the mortal realm, however, was kept intact, via the blood he had left there.

From this realm, he felt the pressure of the blood bond as an inredible agony. Still, he could not leave this plane through these means, which meant she would be pulled into it, as it was her power that had made the bind.

Which meant that should she choose to continue the link, she'd be spending some time in the Abyss. Unprotected time, at that.

Sure enough, the pain cut off almost instantly. Kynjaka smiled to himself, and refocused on the drop of blood still on the mortal realm, and redrew himself to it. He reappeared in a small side street, one that Iolanthe had apparently retreated to upon his disappearance.

Iolanthe: Where did you go?

Kynjaka: Dealing with a minor inconvenience.

Rather pleasingly, the blood bond now existed in a single drop. And that drop wasn't exactly a lot, in the body of a huge demon. Nevertheless, he expelled that drop through the still present piercing in his finger. No point in letting a canker exist.

Showing very little emotion, she snapped her fingers, summoning a slave. She walked in quietly, and bowed low.

Vondeux: ....I want you to go on an errand for me...

She nodded. Having mute slaves around was proving to be very beneficial. Trailing her fingers through the girl's hair, she brought her lips very close to her ear. What she whispered went unheard. Then she was dismissed. Vondeux stood up and walked through the halls to Ariel's room. The girl was fast asleep. Dreaming small dreams. She sat down on the bed next to her and pulled the sheet away. She opened the jar of eucalyptus oil next to the bed and massaged it into her back. It losened up her mind, opening it like a door. Vondeux smiled. So adorable.

Especially at that age. Ariel turned in her sleep.

"Hello darling..."

"....is that you Vondeux?"

"Yes, don't be afraid."

"The demon left you."

"I knew he would go. His type never linger."

"And he broke the connection. I saw him do it. I always dream like that."

"That is good. Sometimes bad though. What else do you see?"

"Nothing else. Aside from a cute Dragouret girl."

"Ah yes, his current love affair. She'll be more trouble than she's worth. Hopefully."

She smiled and brushed the hair from Ariel's peaceful face. They're mind conversations grew increasingly complex. Not only did they speak with words, but with hands and hearts. Ethric bodies forming to interact...

Xouzin waited silently at his post inside the main entrance to Vondeux's dwelling. He was the only one in the hall, no-one else needed to be there when he was on guard. His right hand rested on the handle of his rapier at his side, his left dangled limply, waiting to spring upto his sword on his back at the first possible opportunity.

The doors to the dwelling suddenly opened, and Vondeux walked calmly in. She turned towards Xouzin, who lowered his head to bow instincively as soon as she had walked in.

Vondeux: Xouzin, follow me.

Xouzin: Yes Shagress...

Xouzin walked a pace behind his Shagress, in step with her, as she walked into her Throne Room. The guard at the door opened it for her, and closed it behind Xouzin after he followed her in. Xouzin stopped a few paces inside, while Vondeux entered and walked upto her throne, sitting confortably on it. She stared at him for a moment with her head resting in the palm of one hand.

Xouzin: Are you okay Shagress?

Vondeux: Yes Xouzin, I'm fine... Tell me Xouzin, why do you stay so loyal?

Xouzin: One does not get to be the best in their field through complacency ma'am.

Vondeux smiled. Xouzin was a much more complex character than he pretended to be, but he never lied to her. What he said was basically true... he was basically as strong as a Drow could be without being talented magically. As Vondeux had grown, she had watched Xouzin grow with her, in both maturity and skill... and she was sure from quite a young age that she wanted him fighting for her. Many had shunned him for being related to the outcast Drizzt... but Xouzin had dfinately inherited some of the skill that Drizzt was so renowned for.

Vondeux: I require your... assistance Xouzin, in coordinating my upcoming party, to celebrate the changing of the season.

Xouzin: Of course Shagress.

Xouzin wondered as to why she would need his help... but she always had her reasons.

Vondeux: I need wards set up around the perimeter, the type that react to strong magic, particularly the demon variety.

He raised an eyebrow but voiced no comment. She opened the side pannel on her armrest and brought out two vials. One she handed to him, the other she opened on her side table. He smelled something sickly sweet, and grew slightly faintheaded.

Vondeux: Unicorn blood. We'll be using it tonight. Ceremony.

Xouzin: What ceremony Val'Shagress?

Vondeux: Ariel will be blossoming tonight, and next week she will be at the party. As will the elite of our city.

Xouzin: Tight security then. I'll alert the guards.

Vondeux: Tell them to modify their aurmor. It's not just demons I'm bothered by.

Xouzin: ...anything else?

Vondeux: Tell Ariel to meet me in the Sanctuary at 9 tonight. That will be all. Dismissed.

Xouzin: Yes Val'Shagress.

She smiled at him. Which was rare, and he left quietly.

When a Shagress 'comes of age'... the event is not taken lightly. The future Matriarchs of the Drow society were given the treatment they deserved right from the moment they mature. Xouzin had seen several of these, most under Vondeux's guidance. Of cource, he had also seen Vondeux herself blossom, and it was from that moment that Xouzin realised he would spend his life serving her.

Finding himself suddenly outside Ariel's room, he knocked twice on the door. There was silence for a moment, but then a voice beckoned for him to enter. He walked inside, to see the young female sitting beside her bed. She greeted Xouzin with a welcoming smile, but his face showed no emotion.

Xouzin: The Val'Shagress has summoned you to the sanctuary at 9 o'clock tonight.

Ariel: Thank you.

Xouzin nodded his head slightly, then backed out of the room, closing the door as he left. Now... the fun part; trying to get some of the neanderthal guards to understand why they had to enhance their armour and keep closer security. All but the oldest of guards knew to take Xouzin's orders without question... but the younger members always thought to highly of their skills to understand the need for modifications. Many of them had paid for this with their lives in the past, but those who lived soon grew to realise that orders given by Xouzin; especially those directed through the Val'Shagress, were given for a valid reason.

Vial in hand, she walked into her own private chambers and surveyed the ceremonial clothes she had had laid out. Long black robes, with red lining, complete with the Megelani crest. She put them on without aid, fastening the sash and tieing it down in a perfect knot. Then she turned to her vanity table and started with her hair. Rhain showed up and assisted her very well. Brushing and combing, and inserting the silver pins where necessary. She put on the heavy iron circlet for the evening and slipped the vial into her long sleeve. Ariel was dressed in a simple white gown and ushered into the Sanctuary.

Vondeux was waiting for her, vial in hand, standing at the top of the stairs. At the foot was a large pool. Full of ice cold water, and reflecting the high ceiling. Ariel walked into the water as instructed, and Vondeux stepped down. She walked across the water and knelt in front of Ariel. She undid the stopper and poured the unicorn's blood over Ariel's forehead. Silver washing over her, like mercury, pouring down, washing her.

Then she turned and walked back up the stairs and sat down on her throne. Everything was still, and Ariel looked up at the ceiling. The water became warm suddenly, and she stopped shivering. Then she fell backwards, into the water. Hearing nothing but her heartbeat.

"Where am I...?"

Nothing answered her but the sound of her heartbeat....again. Then she felt, rather than saw, something open insider her. A seal in her mind, unblocked. And she leapt up, body begining to mature, hair far longer....trailing down to the water below.

The water was cold again. The unicorn's blood had vanished.

Iolanthe, since her trip into the earth, had seen many strange things, so this one did not phase her as much. She began to contemplate the rest of her life down here, trying to see around the twists and bends in the pathway of her life. Too much effort, and Kynjaka had begun walking again.
The alleyway they were in grew darker, and gradually all sounds and signs of life dissapeared. Kynjaka took a larger step than usual, and held out one of his arms over her head, stopping suddenly. As Iolanthe walked under his arm, she felt a cold rush forcing her pores closed, her eyes closed, her wings tight and giving her goosebumps. When she opened her eyes, the alleyway, the houses, the cobblestones were no where to be seen. Instead, the pair were surrounded by bare rock, stalactites reaching down to touch the rough ground and needles of light pressing through the maze of geological forms. Glancing around, she saw the complex landscape far too similar to discern one part from another, and realised that a step too many in either direction would cause her to become hopelessly lost.

Kynjaka stood still beside her, waiting for her to calm her heartbeat. That done, he pressed forward, stepping lightly around obstacles and pausing momentarily to wait for the hesitant Iolanthe to catch up.

Iolanthe: Where are you taking me?

Kynjaka: I'm not taking you anywhere. Why are you following me?

Iolanthe: You gave me my freedom, and then said there was a place we could go to hide. I'm asking where this place is.

Kynjaka: No, you're asking were we are going. And I never said anything about freedom...

Iolanthe, somewhat confused and annoyed she hadn't been paying attention, followed once more. As for the freedom, looking up and seeing the ceiling far lower than before, she realised it didn't matter who was feeding or clothing her, she would be stuck in this cavern for the rest of her life. A very, very long time.

Tears blocking her vision, as well as the increasing darkness, she ran into Kynjaka when he halted. Wiping her face and peering around the black mass, she saw they had halted in front of a complete lack of light, or anything of use to anyone... she didn't know why they stopped, actually. It seemed a dead end. Until Kynjaka walked forward and he darkness lifted, revealing a cave entrance littered with bones. Translucent beads of silver floated in strings around the air, making her hair stand on end as she walked past them. As soon as she breached the cave entrance, a question entered her mind, but she collapsed, fast asleep, before she could open her mouth. The last thing she saw before her face hit the soft dirt was the corner of a silver amulet, embedded in the dust.

OOC: HEY! Guess what! I'm BACK! it feels gewd to be back! :p ! well! here i am ready to post! oOo what does it mean to "blossom"? and also when yoO mean "elite of our city?", who is the elite of the city?
--------------------

Ariel's long, dark purple with streaks of lavendar hair shimmered in the light. Her eyes were not innocent like anymore, they were more of a seductive, hypnotic pair of eyes. Each time you look into them, you cannot think about anything else. Her body was more tall and slim, shaped like an exquisite hourglass. Ariel's hands were skinny and slim, like herself. All she could hear was the beating of her heart and the blowing breeze that rushed past her face.

A time in which you swiftly mature into a fully fledged drow. And become a young woman. Elite: High up types from various noble houses. Like ours, some older, some younger.

And a sidenote: Make longer posts. And don't worry about screwing things up. I make it up as we go along.
~~~~~~~~
Her voice echoed deeply through the hall, filling Ariel with a rushing warmth.
"Daughter of Loloth,
Now belonging to Her,
Rise."
Ariel rose to her feet, unsteadily, and found that she was standing on the water's surface. She walked across the pool and up the steps. She came to the throne itself and her Val'Shagress stood. She placed a hand on her forehead and felt her face. Ariel looked up, eyes opening wide. Vondeux smiled down at her, eyes closing slightly.
Vondeux: You survived.
Ariel: ....I don't think I did anything...
Vondeux: As your body reformed, your mind undergoes stress. More have died blossoming than lived.
Ariel: You didn't tell me...
Vondeux: It was in the book.
She winked and smiled gently.
Kynjaka shrugged, and stooped, picking her up. He raised the silver talisman up on one claw, examining it closely. He didn't recognise it, so he slipped it around Iolanthe's neck. He looked around, wondering wear the resident of this particular den was. He hadn't actually intended to hole up here, but he knew it would scare her. Now that she was out, with a little prompting, he slung her over his shoulder, and started back for Khalith's hideout.
It wouldn't hurt to have her ignorant of a way to escape, how to get back, so to speak.
It didn't take long. Khalith came out to meet him, no doubt his sharp sentries had picked up Kynjaka long ago, no matter that the demon had noticed nothing. The wily drow seemed unconcerned with whatever had befallen.
Khalith: So tell me, do I have to pay for much?
Kynjaka: Unless healing spells cost something these days, then no.
Khalith: Who's your ...companion?
Kynjaka: Her name's Iolanthe. She's a dagouret, obviously, formerly a gladiator. She threw a skull at Val'Shagress Vondeux.
Khalith raised an eyebrow, though he probably found such audacity refreshing.
Khalith: Why do you have her?
Kynjaka: She interests me. Oh, and next time...
He leant down, his amethyst eyes close to Khalith's much smaller red ones. He knew he ran quite a risk, but trusted that Khalith trusted his integrity, and not order the score of warriors that no doubt surrounded them to attack.
Kynjaka: Warn me.
With that, he took to the air, returning to his hidden hole. With Iolanthe's wings, keeping her in would require an arcane touch. So he sealed the door with faerie fire, and lay her on a makeshift bed, waiting for her to awaken.
