Obesity Lawsuit?

Is that the stupidest thing you've ever heard or what? I was actually quite shocked to hear it, but then I thought about it, and it seems that everyone is trying to sue everyone for SOMETHING.

I think people should take responsibility for their own actions. McDonalds didn't drive the guy to their restaurant and buy the food for him every day. He did that on his own.

Yeah, I saw something about that stupid lawsuit. No body put a gun to their heads and told them to eat, it was their choice. Its just like people sueing tobacco companies, in that people refuse to take responsibility for their own dumb actions.

It seems now and days, people are trying to do anything to get rich quick, which leads to such irrational behavior.

I think it's stupid, Mc Donalds' has calories guides available to the public if they want to see how much FAT they're going to eat.

So it's not Mc Donalds fault, what do people expect when they eat fatty greasey fries, a large calorie filled coke, and a greasy burger everyday...please don't tell me you eat like that every day and not plan to die of a heart attack, when you like 40? Please!!

People should take responibilty for their own health, and not sue just cause they were to lazy to walk into Subway.

Now I'm not saying I don't eat fast food, but I eat it in moderation...like one or twice a week at the most.

Please people, instead of serving court lawsuit, go eat some place healthier for you...simple as that.

Yeah, well, I too thought this happenned a few months ago or something. From what I know, McDonalds simply proved that there is nothing addicting in their food, so if the person continued to eat there and become overweight, it's their own fault. The fact of the matter is that the person that become overweight is completely responsible for going there and eating all the time. I agree whole-heartedly. People are too embarassed to admit to their own stupidity and weak will power. I COULD eat 4 big macs a day every day for my whole life, but chances are awfully good that I'll be smart enough NOT to do that. It's just like the woman who sued McDonald's when she spilled coffee in her lap, and now they have to put that CAUTION: CONTENTS ARE HOT label on all of their coffee cups b/c she sued. But seriously, people try to sieze any possible opportunity they can find to earn money dishonestly. Another example, at one of my brother's old workplaces, everyone was given saftey talks and proper instructions to the use of HEADPHONES. Apparently one girl around the age of 20 who was constantly using headphones with the microphone piece managed to injure herself by poking her eye with the headphones, and attempted to sue the company for insufficient teachings on the usage of headphones.[/COLOR][/I]

lol, lawsuits like this are funny. just like that old lady who sued mcdonalds because she put a hot cup of coffee between her legs after getting it from the drive thru, then squeezed her legs and scalded herself. it's the "I made a stupid mistake but am going to blame it on someone else because I am perfect" syndrome. I find it hilarious.

I gave up eating at fast food resturants for Lent, and haven't eaten at a fast food place since, and lent is long over. It's not that hard to stop cold turkey (this coming from someone who loves Wendy's Spicy Chicken). Well, I eat at subway and d'angelo's, but I don't count those as fast food (:D). If I get fat from eating too many Buffalo Chicken Wraps (:drool:), then it's my own damn fault. I'm not going to sue D'Angelo's for making the best damn wrap on the planet. There are consequenses to your actions. Learn to live with them.

But seriously why is it so hard to realise that fast food contains fat, we all know it does. I eat it and I know its junk food but I also eat a balanced diet (inflicted by my parents) so it has no effect on my overall health. Ahh I'm to busy to be thinking about subway. (Which is meant to be healthier in AU than the US! And that it?s officially the Australian Geeks fast food of choice.)
So I just think those sort of people are stupid.

It's rediculous that people go to McDonalds, eat all that food, WATCH them cook it, and then expect not to get fat! My God, what has the world come to? It's just sad, really. This latest lawsuit just came from an idea that this latest 'victim' got from seeing the last McDee's lawsuit for obesity. First it was a mother suing because her kids were fat (which was because she sent them there for lunch each and every day for, oh, I don't know... Half the kids' lives?! ugh...), then some chick gets burned because she was driving and holding hot coffee between her knees, without the cap on and expecting not to get burned :nope: Now it's this guy. Lawyers advertise on TV here every 15 minutes and it's always some stupid case that they won as an example,
"I sat on my office chair the wheel came off, i fell back onto the floor severly (sure ;) ) injuring my back knee, and I won £7000!!"

I bet the man who had smoked since he was eight or something and got a lung-cancer met a lawyer at the hospital who told him that he can get big bucks from the tobacco company by suing them for causing the cancer. Of course the lawyer would get a big reward, but the man would get even bigger.
