Thanks :D.

Still on the Love Hina kick, I made this background ... It's 87K, just to warn you. This is one of the girliest things I have ever made, and I'm not even sure I like it, though I'm using it anyway :p. Comments/criticism highly appreciated.

Heh, I guess I'm a little behind...

Some of my fave banners include Elli, Otogi, Dagger, Kain and Ben's banners, and all of your Love Hina art (yes, even the pink one). I'm quite impressed.
What type of paint program you use? I'm just curious.
Hope to see more in the future.

I had noticed your Naru banner all over the place. It's honestly one of the most successful banners I've seen here in quite some time. It's not all that complex, which is great considering all the people here who like to take a drawing and plop some colored 3D mess on it. It's really nice.

The only thing I'd do is move the Naru text up several pixels. It's not centered, and it's throwing me off for some reason heh.

The wallpaper is also quite good. I can't see anything wrong with it. Even though it has flowers and pink stuff, I don't find it so girly that I'd not use it... but then again I like flowers and one of my favorite colors is hot pink lol.

I am curious about the "an ellie design" thing though. What font is "ellie" in? I thought maybe it's your real writing, but I don't know... not many people do that for things.

Yeah, I considered having the Naru text centered, but I prefer it a little asymmetrical. Just look away and it won't hurt your eyes as much :p.

The "Ellie" is in fact my own writing ... I signed my name several times on a piece of paper, and scanned it for one of my wallpapers that's on animewallpapers.com (now defunct, as far as I know ... so sad). Now I can just color overlay it to match any other background, and since I spent all that time doing it, I figure I may as well put it on my other stuff now as well.

Thanks for all the really nice comments, by the way, everybody :D So encouraging! (But I'm lazy and classes just started so I have nothing new at the moment ...)

Oh, by the way, I use Photoshop 7.0 for everything.

I got Photoshop from "completely legal sources." Actually, the ITS department at my school has it, and since I'm an employee of ITS I was able to get a copy.

A couple more Love Hina-errific things ...

This banner is really not my style, but I thought the picture was really cute. The too-cute flowers seemed to go well, and the word "flirt" just sort of followed.

I'm also attaching another Love Hina background (187K).

Long description:
I really like the way this one turned out. It features Shinobu and Kaola, and once again I saw the picture and everything else sort of followed from there. I wanted to try out a tan/neutral color scheme, and I think it worked out rather well. I'm pretty bad at putting a background to pictures usually, but I love the film strip thing, even though it's probably not the most original idea in the world. The turtle was an afterthought, because the lower left area seemed a little empty, but I think it ended up looking pretty cute there.

I am recalling my own rather old thread ... I hope that's all right. I didn't want to start a new one, and rather like having all this archived here.

Anyway, I randomly made some banners tonight. And here they are.

Scrapped Princess ones:
(I just finished watching this show which most of you have probably never heard of, so I figured I'd make some banners for it. "The poison that will destroy this world" is from the show.)

One from Pita Ten:
(I've never seen this show, just found this ridiculously cute picture and figured it deserved a banner ...)

Any thoughts, you just let me know. :p

You have a great talent for banners. Heh, when I need a new one I'll have to get you to make me one. ^_^ I like mostly all of them. You keep improving as you make more too. I don't think I'll ever be able to make good banners... mine suck. :P
Anyways... keep up the awsome work! ^_^

I can't believe that I never noticed this thread before!

Anyway, your work is consistently impressive. I really like the Naru and Faye banners, as well as your Love Hina backgrounds--particularly the "girly" one. ^_~

Your Scrapped Princess banners alone are enough to get me interested in watching that show. The pixelated effect in the banner with the blond girl is especially cool, and adds a sense of mystery to it.

Ha, thanks, Dagger. The Scrapped Princess thing is quite a compliment :D. And, the reason you never saw this thread is probably because the last time I updated it was practically when you'd just become a member. ... That's a lie, but it'd been like a month.

Anyway ... ~aya kinimoto~, yeah, you can have the Aya banner if you want it. I assume you're referring to the one on ... the first page? If so, I can change the text on it if you'd like, just PM me.

I still think the "Flirt" banner is your best one. :p The first Scrapped Princess is really nice. First, the texture isn't too loud nor too quiet, which means it's just right. Then that font for "Scrapped Princess" is awesome! What is that (so that I may swipe it from some unsuspecting free website)?

I'm guessing that an Onegai Twins banner is probably soon to follow?

Real nice, I like your new Scrapped Princess banners (and yes I have heard of the show, never watched it though). The first one is really cool, but the second...I think it wuold be a little better if the guy on the right didn't seem so isloated from the rest of the banner.
As for Pita Ten, you're right, it is ridiculously cute, and I kinda preferred your old comic one, even if it lacked color. (Where was that from, anyway?)

You're actually pretty damn good. I'm a bit tired of seeing anime banners from everyone, but I'm impressed with yours. What font did you use for the one that you are using? I want it.

Some brief messages:

A) Thanks everyone! :)

B) Here are the names of some of the fonts I've used in whichever banners:
DNAngel / Groove Adventure Rave : Carpenter ICG (my favorite I think)
Scrapped Princess (the one with the blonde girl) : Balzac on the top, LainieDaySH on the bottom
the flirt Love Hina banner: also Balzac
I don't remember which sites I found each font from, sorry guys ... but those are their names, hehe.

C) AzureWolf, I probably would be making an Onegai Twins banner, except I haven't been keeping up with the show because I haven't watched Onegai Teacher yet. :p Oh, and I didn't know anyone liked that flirt banner! I'm glad you told me, haha.

D) Wondershot, I didn't bother putting this banner up here because I figured most people would know the comic was Mother Goose and Grimm, and I just resized it. Then I realized that was probably a very USA-centric view, so ... my bad, hehe. And now it will go here.

Also, here's a banner I made for Aurora Dragon a little while ago. The top font is Verticalization and the bottom one is Skyscraper.

The new stuff:

Here is a first attempt at a Tron Bonne banner for Arika. I think it's kind of cute, at least ... :p The quote is one I found that hopefully really is from the video game.

Edit: matching av.

You should put my hagar banner that you made me in here Terra. I have the address for it somewhere if you wish. Anyways, I like most of your banners. I don't like the frst scrapped princess one however, because around her eyes, it is kind of pixelly, and that ruins it for me. Might just be the crappy school computer I am using though. heh.

You have some awesome talent terra. Mucho Bravo.

Or other pseudo-spanish comment.

Wowsers! You really have an eye for this sort of thing, terra. They all look fantastic. I especially like the Dagger one and the second Scrapped Princess, just to name a few. I really like how you box everything, too... it's different from what you normally see around here.

Pretty, pretty banners.... :twitch:

I have real problems being consistent with any type of computer graphics stuff ... :p

Anyway, I'm working on a new layout for my personal website and a mock version is up. Tell me what you think?

http://pantheon.yale.edu/~elc23/testing/

The links along the top will eventually ... work ... And I'm not sure about the "do you dare" before them, I may take it out. It was meant to be a reference to J. Alfred Prufrock ("Do I dare to eat a peach?") but I don't think that's particularly clear.
