Manic Webb
I had heard about the internet for years, but I didn't get to experience it for myself until I was about 13 years old. I was at my cousins' house, and they gave me a screen name on their AOL account. I'd log on every now and then, but I had no idea what I was doing. Then when I was 14, I got a WebTV (it's called an MSNTV, these days) for my birthday and began surfing the internet everyday. I started my first websites in those days. That's was back in 1998. Then in 2000, I got an actual computer for my 16th birthday. No longer limited by the basic abilities of a WebTV, I learned the joy of downloading, and re-learned how to use a mouse. All I've ever really done is look up song lyrics, read news, visit anime websites, chat, and work on my websites.

Those games are kind'a fun, that's probably the only reason I go on there, to play the games. Heh. Queen Asuka
I know for a fact it was when I was 12 years old because I lied about my age until I turned 13. Then I wasn't ashamed anymore. For me, it started off as AOL. I became addicted to chat and I was always in the Playstation room. I had so many friends...it was unreal. One day I decided to start using Yahoo Chat. I had SO MANY friends on there and some of the deepest relationships. I think I grew up there. I was an old member and very well known. There was so much drama, but I couldn't pull myself away from it. That lasted about four years... I found the Otaku in my Junior year. I love this place and all of the friends I've made. But this internet just isn't as thrilling for me as it once was...especially as it was back in the yahoo days. I MISS those days when I was known as Kass and I was Kim's little sister...*sighs and walks off* By the way, that's where the Queen of Plushies originated. ^_^
Sara
I know how you feel, heh. I spent so much time in Excite VP--wow. There were some great people there. I miss 'em. The whole thing ended on a sort of sour note, but it was still a lot of fun while it lasted, heh.

Pressure
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Hm.. When I was in 3rd grade (4 years ago) we used to have a crummy old Windows 95.. Then my dad got a job when internet access WAS required, so then we got a vamped up 98 and got internet access. I started off looking at Pokemon sites, mostly.. *shudders* Then, once I entered my "golden age of anime" I started searching for Evangelion and .hack//SIGN episode guides, which brought me to The Otaku, thus putting me in OtakuBoards! l-] The rest is history.
I honestly have no idea why this caught my attention, but I guess it was the line, "The rest is history." Don't take this offensively, but wasn't your entire post history? :whoops: I discovered the internet in 4th grade. All six years ago. -nostalgia- I remember I flipped out when Mattel started advertising the part of their website where you could customize your **own** Barbie. I was floored. In 5th grade my "huge" discovery was Hamster Dance. Dun dun dunnnn. And I thought Ask Jeeves was the most amazing thing ever. I didn't discover Otaku until 8th grade. Dragonball Z was suddenly the *huge craze*. Even though I'd been watching it for two years previous to the Dragonball fad. Then, three days into 8th grade, I was getting my bookbag out of my locker, and a tall, handsome, quiet stranger walked up to me and handed me a folded up piece of paper. Sorry for the cliche. On the piece of paper, was the mysterious creature's name, phone number, and several websites. The first one below his name was 'OtakuBoards.com [ cool ]' And below that it said 'Krillin6913' So, I jumped online that night, tore through the site, signed up, and spammed in at least 4 threads. :D "The rest is history." :whoops:
Dragon Warrior
Eh... I was probably around 10. That was about the time I started using computers. My dad is the one who introduced me. We like computers. I mean, when I was littler than 10, we played games and stuff on school comps, but really no internet, I don't believe. Those were the days ^_^
XeEmO
I don't remember the first time I used the internet, because it was so long ago. I think it was at school in 4th grade, or possibly sometime before that at my cousin's house. I got the internet at my house in 6th grade. I started chatting with my friends on Yahoo Messenger (I think it was called Yahoo Pager back then) and I made a few online friends. I eventually got AIM and forgot about Yahoo Messenger. About two years ago I started making websites instead of just chatting with people. I found absolutegb.com about two years ago as well(or possibly before), and signed up for OB last year. I'm still addicted to the internet. Hopefully there will only be new things to be addicted to (on the internet) in the future.
