The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Someone recently started a thread dedicated to Insomniac with Dave Attell, so I decided to start a thread dedicated to my favorite comedy show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The Daily Show is hilarious and it's a shame that Jon and the other comedians on the show don't get more recognition (I rarely see guys like Lewis Black, Stephen Colbert, or Rob Coldry (sp?) anywhere outside of Comedy Central). Spoofing the news isn't a very new concept (Weekend Update, anyone?), but The Daily Show does it so well and so funny. Plus, they occasionally have guests outside of entertainers and such and they can discuss issues that matter and put a funny spin on them. It's sad to say, but I probably get about a quarter of my current events from The Daily Show (kids like me need to read the newspaper lol).

And it's not just Jon Stewart. Lewis Black is my favorite comedian today. The Back in Black segments make The Daily Show worth watching by themselves. And Stephen Colbert is today's master of the deadpan delivery; he's just hilarious. And the news segments that they do are just hilarious. Like when Stephen Colbert interviewed one of the men who discovered DNA (I can't remember his name - someone please enlighten me) about stupidity. I was laughing through the whole segment.

I LOVE The Daily Show!

First off, as a little immature kid, I find real news boring.. But with this, I get the news, humor AND swearing! What could be better?

I'm not sure what is my favorite part.. Probably when they sometimes tweak real news segments and make them seem funny... Or that one skit that one time.. "Tyrant of the month"..

But the taxes special is really hilarious..

[color=darkgreen][font=gothic]They have the Daily Show shown in Australia too, but it's not on every day so Jon warmly refers to it as the Weekly Daily show (with Jon Stewart). Although I've only seen it a few times, I love it and think it is hilarious. I like the personal way he interveiws his guests, and the moments he shares with the audience. *insert appropriate concluding statement here*

I love this show, what's sad about it is that I actually trust it, which they themselves acknowledge to be a "fake news show", more than the actual news-media.

There was this one segment around April, it had a debate between President Bush, and Presidential Candidate Bush.

Needless to say, the two of them rarely disagreed about the issues about invading nations that haven't attacked us.
