Anime Best Mechs and Mech fighters.

[color=orangered][font=times new roman]Well lemme see...Umm for mecha designs I love Unit-01's design and color scheme...Big O has a fantastic looking old school design...The GP-03 would have to be my fav gundam...The thing is huge and has insane firepower...That or the Kampfer...It gets the crap beat out of it but its still one of the sweetest looking mech in the gundam universe...

As for pilots I have a soft spot for asuka...She has such a truely excellent character design...Not a huge fan of her mech though :p [/color][/font]

[color=hotpink][size=1]I just cannot consider an Eva a mech. It's just a BIOLOGICAL being covered in armor. That'd be like saying me covered in metal armor is your favorite mech. Which makes NO sense whatsoever. Just thought I would point that out.

Otherwise! I like Wing Zero. The one with the ANGEL WINGS! It's so beautiful! Not to mention that I LOVE Heero Yuy...he's such a darling. But yes, Wing Zero for Asukaness all the way since Eva's aren't mechs![/color][/size]

Consider this -- a mech is a large robot-type creature that can be manually controlled from the inside. Are you manually controlled from the inside, Asuka? o_O;

If an Eva is completely covered in armor and works as a robot in the sense that we can control it's every move, as well as the fact that it is manually manuevered from an inside cockpit, how can it [i]not[/i] be a mech? I suppose if you wanted to get into the nitty-gritty, then yes, officially somewhere down the line they're not [i]exactly[/i] like mechs. But just because the truth behind the Evangelions are that they are somehow human-like below the armor, it doesn't change the fact that they look and operate just like mechs. End of story.

Actually thats not true, there not really controlled on the inside, there just being help to confirm actions by there pilots.

Er..do you mind repeating that? lol Even if Evangelions are not exactly like most mechs, I'm sure you'd be able to clasify it as such for this thread. After all, they [i]are[/i] piloted by people to fight. At the bare bones of the show, I'd have to personally consider it a mech anime.

Either way, I consider Evangelions to be mechs too. Sure, they have their own soul, they are also biological, their armor is simply for binding them, they sometimes move on their own, etc. etc. But they still require a pilot to operate at full potential. No pilot = weaker Eva. Its a mech.

I think its more of an AI matter rather than biology... they seem kinda too robotic to have some sort of biological aspect if you ask me.
