Shinmaru
Just adding some news that was reported yesterday. It seems that the girl in question almost ODed on pills a couple months ago. This will probably work out well for the defense because they could make it seem like the woman's story is now less credible than it already is (and to be honest, it isn't very credible to begin with). Of course, there's the slim chance the prosecution could use this in saying that Kobe took advantage of a girl with a fragile psyche, but I don't think that would hold any water in a case like this. Guest Altron Gundam
Originally posted by pbfrontmanvdp Seriously i could care less what he does with his life. If hes guilty or not, it doesnt really concern me. He already has more money than i will ever imagine of possessing, and even if he is found guilty he will only be in jail for the minumim of 4 years. Im going to say that he only had an affair though, i dont believe Bryant is that stupid to rape someone. Of course this will affect him financially, but he already has enough money so it doesnt matter anyway. LoL the only thing im concerned about is the rookie cards i have of him now there going to go down lol. I have another question about this as well. What i cant understand is how much athletes get paid in professtional sports. Compared to doctors, i cant see how they get paid sometimes 10 times the amount. Doctors/scientists should be the ones getting paid millions of dollars for founding new information or cures for certain diseases. Think about it, a doctor is probably able to play basketball(not as good), but is a basketball player able to perform open heart surgery. I dont think so. What im trying to get at is athletes are no wheres near worth as much as money as other occupations. Plus you never here many doctors being on the news for sex scandels. You always hear of athletes being on the news with situations like these. I personally dont care what he does with his life outside of basketball. I just hate how this is going to be on the news now with millions of "up to date news on the Kobe Byrant case" for months. Its to funny that they get so much publicity even when they do something against the law. I just think its sad.
Because athletes are high profile induviduals who get tons of media coverage. Only a select few get to play ever at that level of sports anyway. The fact that your job is always on the line from being traded from team to team could be one factor, and also going on the road for so long away from your family etc. covers in. Besides, stars don't make their fortunes from their paychecks. Its all in endorsements.

He also has a $13 million a year contract with Nike. It blew my mind when I heard that.
Guest Altron Gundam
I'm a college player and the first time I saw him play when they broadcast one of his games on ESPN2, I was like..Daammnn...this fool can play. While I don't believe he'll make a direct impact on the NBA, there is lots of pressure on him to succeed. If not, he'll have all this fallout on how he was overrated. People who go out of their way to buy AI shoes or Michael Jordan shoes are seriously idiotic. They dont do anything special compared to a regular $50 nike shoe. Ive tired on AI shoes just to see if there was a difference and like most products, it was just a gimmick. I do know athletes make more money in endorsements then in actually competition, but most of the top five sports have a minimum salary cap of $500,000 a year. I would be lucky if i made that in 5 years once i start teaching, and i actually went to college for it. Some of these athletes dont even go to college and they make quadruple what i will eventually be making if im lucky. And if you mean stars dont make money in their paychecks ill take their paychecks any day.

The majority of major atheletes get their fortunes from endorsements. A-Rod isn't worth that kind of money. His team is in the dumps and there are like 10 MLB players better than him. Don't take this the wrong way, but I take offense to your comments versus ppl buying basketball shoes being "idiotic". Who gives a flying crap if ppl buy those shoes or not? That's there own choice. Quit trying to force your opinions on everybody. --;
Hybrid Theory
I do not know whether he did it or not and whether the girl is lying for money or not, but he has a clean record and something like this is weird... He is my favourite player from the best team, and it will stay that way for all I am concerned!
