DeathBug
At the San-Diego Comic Con, they had pictures of Doctor Octopus, from next summer's sequel to "Spider-Man", supposedly called "The Amazing Spider-Man". (Named after the original and longest running book Spider-Man has starred in; coincidently, ASM reaches 500 issues this fall.) I've included a pic for anyone who wants to see it. :)
Syk3
Woah, that picture really makes him look realistic; I had been wondering who would be the bad guy in the next film. Something else that I've been wondering about, though, is about the rumors of whether Tobey Maguire is going to play Spider Man again in II. I remember hearing something about him breaking his leg in the production of the first, and that he may be replaced by his stunt double. oO; In any case, I'm eagerly awaiting this sequal because of just how well they did the first one -- it was simply so original. Can they keep that feeling for the second? Oh, and if you have any other pictures, feel free to share more. ^_^;
Shinmaru
Now that's a Dr. Octopus! I was wondering who'd be the new villain in the Spider-Man sequel (everyone I knew wanted Venom, but I thought Doc Ock would translate better to the movies). At least I know that they chose a good villain for the movie; now all that there's left to see is if this movie will be as good or (hopefully) better than the first. SadClown
I didn't really like the first one all that much but I'm excited to see this one. Still, I was hoping that they were going to start the Venom/Carnage story line. That would have been more fun...
Harry
Wow they did a really good job with him. I thought they would make him stupid looking like in the cartoon or the comic, but he looks just right now. And I thought it was announced he would be the next villian? DeathBug
Venom is slated to be the villian in the third movie. (Possible actor? Vin Desiel) Carnage is nowhere in sight, however. That really doesn't bother me, though; most Spider-Man dans hate him. I'd go into why, but it's off-topic. I'll search for more pics.
Shinken
Dah-d-dah-da-da... DOC OCK! Now that's how to make a villain! Aw, now you've got me all excited...
WW2
Whoa Doc Ock looks like such a bad*** in that pic. Is it just me or does he look like something out of the Matrix? Hopefully the new SM movie will be better than the last. I heard somewhere that he's supposed to face Doctor Octopus and the Lizard in the sequel. Does anybody know if that's true?:therock:
DeathBug
I found a new pic; this one's a close-up of the good Doctor's tentacles. :) No Lizard, though. However, we can expect the Black Cat, unless the rumors are dead wrong.
Transtic Nerve
Tell me again why they call him Dr. Octopus when HE ONLY HAS 4 TENTACLES!? Anyway, Doc Oc is probably my least favourite villan of Spider-man, next to the Kingpin, which aside from the horrible acting, made the movie suck arse. I'd like to see Venom and/or Carnage, I'd also like to see someone cast who can act in some form or fasion.
Manic Webb
4 Tentcles + 2 arms + 2 legs = 8 limbs. I gotta admit, though, "Amazing Spider-Man" needs some good actors badly. Willem Defoe was way over-the-top as Goblin. Way over the top. I heard Felicia Hardy would be in "Amazing" but not as Black Cat. I'm hoping this movie digs into Harry Osbourne's hatred of Spider-Man, and leads him to the truth; his cold-hearted corporate father was actually a cold-hearted super villain. Ben
Originally posted by Manic 4 Tentcles + 2 arms + 2 legs = 8 limbs.
:p I can't believe I never realized that. I think it's pretty neat how they made the Doc look cool, but he's supposed to be the genius/scientist/nerd villain. He's not supposed to look that awesome. :whoops: I too would like to see the Lizard onscreen.:demon:
Sniglefager
Even though it would be cool to see the Lizard, I hope that Doc Ock is the only villian in the movie, or else the Spider-Man movies might go the way of the Bat-Man films (each one adding more villians, and each one also getting worse than its predecessor). Otherwise, I'm quite excited about this movie, since the first one totally blew me away.
OtakuSennen
Ze claws.. Zey look so realistic. ^_^ They're doing really good with character design. They're making the characters fresh and new without making them seem alien... I personally want to see a Spider Man movie with Venom in it. THOSE would be cool effects.. The liquidy-ness...
Yes, Vin Diesel. I've heard that myself, but I heard that they first approached Dwayne Johnson (AKA WWE's The Rock). However, he turned them down for some reason, most likely a money issue though, but who knows. Not sure which one I'd prefer. Both are actually pretty lousy actors on the big screen, at least in my opinion.
Baron Samedi
Sadclown: just wondering- are you from Western Australia (it says wa state in your siggie) Doc Ock looks awesome. he looks like he is cool not nerdy though. im not that big a fan of comics, but it looks like the sequel will be good. He walks with his tentacles... his legs serve little to no purpose, same with his arms, although he uses them more.

Queen Asuka
Well, I read in Cosmo that McGuire is going to be in the second movie. They were questioning it at first and Kirsten Dunst's REAL boyfriend was being considered for the part, but then McGuire said he would do it. So yeah, there you go. I wanted Harry to become to next villian in the movie. He said he was going to get revenge anyway. So I figured that's just the way it would happen...and that he would be HobGoblin or something...Or maybe I'm wrong, and just being stupid, and getting all of my villians mixed up. I haven't watched Spiderman since I was a kid.
DeathBug
This is my personal pet peeve, b/c HobGoblin is one of my favorite villians ever, so I don't mean to be rude, but I will be clear: Harry Osborn was never and never should be the HobGoblin. Harry became the Green Goblin in his father's place.
In the comics, he's dead.
The HobGoblin is a ruthless businessman named Roderick Kingsly, who found Norman's old notes abnd modified his equipment. If the movie makes Harry into the NobGoblin, I'll be majorly torqued, b/c Roderick Kingsly can beat Harry into the ground any day. Want more Goblin info? You might wantt o check the archieves of www.spideykicksbutt.com. Good reading. Anywhoo, I have a new movie pic. Spidey saves a certain senior citizen. conpiracymonki
Yes ^.~ Harry becomes the next Green Goblin, and Hobgoblin's a different guy ^_^ But yeah. I was thinking about the ending with Harry. It makes no sense to leave him at the end with the whole I'll get my father's revenge thing going on, and then continuing the story with a fresh new villain >.> Maybe they'll do that Batman thing, and mish-mash lots of villains together ¬.¬ --- EDIT: Didn't see DeathBug's post.. but yeah. Is that a behind-the-scenes piccy? That spidey-suit looks like a painting to me o.<

Juu
Wow... o.o; I was actually snickering when I saw the topic -but when I clicked the attatchment, it was like... oo; They did a very good job, though the name sounds pretty funny. When I first saw the topic, I imagined this huuuuge octapus in a Dr. Mario costume. ^ .^; And I'm very excited to see this movie, for two reasons. One, I 'discovered' my Spiderman video while I was unpacking, and liked it about thrice as much as I did the first time in theaters. (I hated it in theaters). And two, Kirsten Dunst's character's going to be more involved in wanting to become an actress, and my dream's to become and actress, and... yeah. x.x; *gets fwapped with plushies*
