Shinmaru
I've been listening to a lot of video game music lately and that got me wondering about Nintendo's music - it's really, really good. There are people who especially praise the music in RPGs, and I was one of them, but some of Nintendo's music really blows them away. I love the soundtracks to many of Nintendo's games. It's a really hard to choice for me to choose my favorite - it was a tight race between The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Metroid, but in the end, I have to go with Super Metroid. First of all, the music just fits the game very well. It really does sound like a high-quality Sci-Fi soundtrack. It really gets you into the mood of the game. The changes in music happen in just the right places and the music is never out of place. Secondly, the pace of the music is fantastic. It's never too fast and never too slow; it's always just right. That's what always irks me about some soundtracks is that the pace might be wrong in a couple of parts of the game. The music in this game always goes hand-in-hand with whatever situation you're in. Lastly, the soundtrack is just full of songs that I just never tire of hearing. Seriously, I could listen to this soundtrack all day and I doubt that I would get bored - it's that good. Also, Super Metroid is home to my favorite sound effect of all time, the sound that is made when you get a new item in Super Metroid (in every Metroid game, actually). It's just so damn cool! Sniglefager
The only Nintendo soundtrack I have is the Smash Bros. Melee one, but it is an awesome CD. I really like the Zelda song on there, and the Metroid one, but my favorite one is probably the Smash Bros. Great Medley. It's like 14 minutes long and it switches between all the Nintendo music, it's pretty cool, ecspecially hearing orchestrated Mario music.
Shinmaru
Technically, I don't have the Super Metroid soundtrack, which is why I was talking about it in connection with the game so much. In fact, I don't own any gaming soundtracks (which is very unfortunate for me). EDIT: Another one I really like is the soundtrack from Super Mario Bros. 3. The music is really good and is so darn bouncy, it gets stuck in your head quite easily. The Hammer Bros. Fight and and Sky Land songs are both really good. Semjaza
Earthbound. I don't think many other games even hold a candle to the bizarre music in this game. I have the entire soundtrack ripped from the cart in MP3 form. I love it.
James
It's hard to say what my favourite Nintendo soundtrack is. Super Mario Bros. 3 had great music, as does Super Mario Sunshine. Lately, I've really been enjoying the Metroid Prime soundtrack. It just blows me away...it's so cool. ~_^ Oh and, Luigi's Mansion. The way that they managed to squeeze out different versions of one theme is funky. lol
Desbreko
Please, don't make me choose a favorite. I think it would kill me. There are just way too many good ones out there.... Super Metroid and Metroid Prime are definitely two of my favorites, along with the music from Zelda games (duh). The music in these games always fits the mood and area that you're in, and is also just a blast to listen to by itself. As soon as I can free up some hard drive space, I'm going to be searching for these two soundtracks. I've never really thought about the music from the Mario games. It fits the games really well, but on its own I think I'd rather listen to other stuff, for the most part. There are a few tracks from each game that I really like, though. Like the underground theme from SMW and the Delfino Plaza theme from SMS. Something that I think is worth noting, too, is the music in the Pokémon games. Some of the songs are extremely catchy, especially the battle themes. I think it would be really cool if Nintendo did a remix CD, with remixed music from R/B/Y and G/S/C. And then, of course, there's Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Those two pretty much go without saying, heh. They take the main themes from a bunch of great games, remix them, and shove them all together into one game. Who could ask for more? I have every track from SSBM, straight out of the Sound Test, on my PC in mp3 format and they're absolutely awesome to listen to. (Actually, I think I'm going to listen to some of the songs right now, heh). The Smashing Live orchestral CD is also awesome. When I first got it, I listened to it at least once a day for about two weeks straight. About the only thing that can beat SSBM's soundtrack is an orchestral version of SSBM's soundtrack, heh. I just wish they had made it two CDs and given some of the songs in the Great Medley their own tracks. The SMB and SMB2 themes would've gone good together in their own track, as would the Big Blue and Mach Rider themes. (My two favorites on the CD).

otakukev
I like alot of game soundtracks. Metroid Prime is one of my favorites. Pokemon's got some okay music, and I really like Super Mario Sunshine's. Very tropical! Another I like is the soundtrack of Evolution Worlds, but I don't think that game did too well. I like it, anyway.
