Okay, I heard terror stories about pregnancy + belly button rings = something horrible happening. (Examples ... oh, I don't know, some woman claimed that her belly got so stretched out that the hole grew enormous as well, and stayed that way even when she lost the weight after having the baby.)

But most of them sounded sort of improbable so I attributed them to urban legends and got my piercing anyway :) But now I'm fully comforted ... it sounds like you've had a baby and your belly button piercing is still normal. Yay! Load off my back.

I had my ears pierced a total of 9 times and I had my left nipple pierced, but I took it out b/c I decided that when I get the money I am going to go and get both done at the same time. Also, my friend and I (b/c I saw it) can vouch for the fact that it is an urban ledgend, well at least for her b/c she was absolutely fine after giving birth, she had it in the entire pregnancy too!

Love, Kaola

*EDIT: yeah I did have my belly button done also but I didn't take the piercers seriously about not touching it at all with dirty hands and I was messing with it a lot w/o washing my hands, and eventually it swelled up so much I had to go to the doctor to take it out and get antibiotics for it!!! EWE! Also I totally forgot that I had my nose done too, just a little stud in my right side!

No piercings! Piercings are for girls and gays!

I have one tattoo around my right arm. Sort of like barbed wire. It looks pretty awesome!
...
Well I think so anyway!

Dad doesn't seem to though...

Well, I've posted this before... but anyway.
I have my ears done but I never wear anything in them, looks bad. I have my nose done (ala) and my navel, which is stretching because I wear too heavy jewellery. I want six surface piercings down my spine, Harlequin tattooed on my hip and whatever designs I come up with everywhere else.

When you say chin, do you mean a labret (through your lower lip) or actual chin, meaning through the bottom of your mouth under your tounge through your actual chin behind the jawbone? The second one is a rather recent invention of deep peircing, which goes with a few others such as collarbone (someone mentioned it before) and achillies tendon, straight through the hand, and between the radius and ulnar in the forearm. Personally, I don't trust any of these piercings... beauty is meant to only be skin deep. And they are dangerous. But you probably didn't mean that... I used the terminology to bring the subject up.

I sincerely hope you're joking.
There are far too many striaght guys out there that have piercings for that comment to even have a shred of validity.
Just look at all the people that posted here saying they either have piercings or plan on getting them that are male.

Oh yeah. After like a month I stopped being careful with my navel ring and then it got infected, as well. Or at least I'm pretty sure ... it sort of looked like I had a tumor growing out of the middle of my belly button. It was gross ... I took a digipic for posterity but I'll spare you guys.

Anyway, I just washed it like five or six times a day with antibacterial soap and put Neosporin on it for a week in hopes that it would go away. And it did :D I was just avoiding the doctor, hehe. It was probably smarter of you to go.

My previous post said I didn't wear earrings... I haven't for about five years...

Well, stupid stupid me, a school function approaching, I decide to open them up again. One slipped through, so did the other, but I was using a nosering as I didnt have any earrings, and so had to borrow my friend's earrings to put in. Second time I tried to put something through the left one, it has swollen a bit and the hold shrunk terribly. Took me half an hour to get the little bastard through.

But I did it, and I feel so strange... Perhaps I should go to this school function with my nose chained to my ear. That would be cool.

Ahh... okay. Here's the thing.

I didn't go full term. If I had, it would've stretched. There's absolutely no way it wouldn't have. The skin stretches beyond control, and, after awhile, even your navel startes to enlarge and lose it's original shape. That's why you can't just simply keep the ring... you need studs on each end of the half-circle to cover it up.

And every friend I know who's had a baby has only put their piercing back in to cover up the ugliness of the upper hole. This is the truth.

And for all you girls who plan to have children, but already have their navel pierced... well, you're pretty much screwed.

I have a labret piercing, and thats it at the moment. I'm thinking about getting the right side of my bottom lip pierced aswell (can't remember the name for it) but I'm still undesided.
I doubt I would ever get a tatoo though, because they're too perminant for my liking, though I am a fan of them on other people.

When it comes to piercings, I have never really put too much thought into them. Though if I ever did do that, which I probably shall at some point, I would go for one right in the middle of my lower lip... and maybe a nose something or other...

As for tattoos, if I ever get the money when I am of age, I could definitely see something. Of course there would be something(s) AFI oriented, taken from the art they put within their albums. I had an idea a while ago that I recently found someone already kind of did, except they did it on their leg, whereas I would probably do it on my forearm. There was also a deal in Sing the Sorrow that would make a good tattoo; I would probably put it on my shoulder.

Here is a picture of what I was talking about:

I might mess with the colors a bit with the one on the left.

There is this one thing that I have drawn that would probably make a good tattoo somewhere, but I would just need to plan it all out.

why get a back tattoo? i love tattoos and ive even designed a complicated one that i am going to get, but i want one where i can see it. thats just me.
Mm, I don't have a tattoo but I can think of a couple reasons, basically the ones my friend came up with when she got a sun tattooed on her lower back. For one, people can only see it when you want them to (i.e. when you take off your shirt/wear a bathing suit/whatever), which can be convenient if you ever go into a very businesslike environment and want to hide that wild part of yourself for a while.

Secondly, the back is one part of your body that you can be pretty sure won't stretch (I think ...?). So you don't have to worry about it looking strange or changing too much as you grow older.
