Well with tats you have to be sure its what you want for the rest of your life... Black and red are my favorite colors, and I've always loved butterflies, and it's in a spot thats easy to hide, but sexy if you show it off. Perfect.

I don't remember who asked before, but the terminology for piercings on the sides of the lower lip is 'Medusa'. It's twin, piercings on the sides of the top lip is 'Monroe'. Wow That was oddly worded.

As Raven said before, deep piercings scare me. Especially a deep oral piercing. Why anyone would want a deep body piercing is beyond me. The deep hand seems utterly ridiculous. The collarbone looks pretty cool, but looks painful beyond words.

I mean, I understand that people want to be 'original' in their piercings, but why in the hell would someone get a smiley piercing or a uvula piercing? It just makes absolutely no sense to me. I'd end up swallowing my uvula piercings. I know it.

I myself only have one piercing right now. My labret. My ears I had done two years ago, but they got infected when I changed the earrings, so I took them out. I looked bad with ear piercings anyways. I absolutely love my labret piercing more than words can express, and I love how it looks on me. Not everyone can pull off a labret piercing. You have to have just the right kind of lips. And I do. I know that a while back I posted that I wanted 15 more piercings. Hah. Right. No. I'm down to only wanting 3 more. My next piercing will most likely be my septum, but I'm going to have to put serious thought into that, as I sneeze very violently, and several times in a row. And that could suck if I blew my nose ring out. I also desperately want anti-eyebrow piercings. I think they'd look marvelous on me, and would accent my facial features perfectly.

Mmmm tattoos. -purr- I want a tattoo on my lower back before I die. Probably of a big, thick, black Ankh. And I'd also like a barcode tattooed on my wrist. I love the Synthetic look. I also want a little blue star outline on my hand between my thumb and forefinger. I don't think I will have to worry about my skin stretching in any of those places. ^_^

I'm definetly a fan of Body Modification.

Anyone here who is remotely familiar with Tekken will know what one of the tattoos I want looks like; it's the one Jin Kazama has on his arm, and i want it. I also want a couple kanji on the back of my neck like in xXx. Not sure what, though. Maybe Otaku. :D

hmmm...well I had both my ears piecered when I was younger but
they got infected. but you can see where I got them pierced. I don't want to get a tattoo.

my sister has her bellybutton pierced and she just got her nose pierced. It's a really small one on the side. *checks to see if sister is around* actually, if you don't know what it is it looks like she has a pimple on her nose :/

for the longest time i had a piercing in each ear, then i went to college...got two more in my left ear one above the first one and one in the cartilige. then i dated a tattoo and piercing apprentice, his boss pierced my belly button and later my tongue. this past winter i pierced my nose.

so all in all i have 7 piercings. there are reasons i've never gotten any of the other piercings i thought i wanted done. the funniest thing hapened at a party once, my roomate (who has his sceptum pierced) told some kid he did it himself with a drill..heh. but i hear that one hurts. ALOT! oh there's work and what piercing are acceptable and what is not...

i was thinking about getting a tattoo, my husband has 2 of them and wants to get a 3rd when he gets back from serving overseas. i have the flash for the tattoo i want, it's now just a question of, do i really want this on my body for the rest of my life?

I have both my ears pierced when I was what.... ten??? But unfortunately, one of them was infected so I have to pierce it again.

I am thinking about getting my tongue and my belly pierced for my birthday. But I don't think my parentes would ever let me get my belly pierced.

If I ever got a tattoo, it would be original art. But I doubt I will. My mind is too wishy-washy for that. If I did, it would be something I know I wouldn't get tired of. Such as a cross or something.

Now, if I ever got a piercing, it would probably be of my left eyebrow; but I doubt that also.

Lessee... I have my left ear pierced, but it's been out for a while. The hole is still open though, but there we are.

I have a tatoo of a red dragon bearing it's wings and claws and roaring on my left arm, with a scroll going through the middle that says Craig. Since I am from Wales, I had the dragon done (we have a dragon on our flag), but it looks nothing like the one on the flag.

Semjaza: AWESOME idea! Go for it! -many cheers-

I have my ears pierced, though I don't wear rings in them often if at all. My lobes are thicker than a normal person's ears, so normal earrings are too small. The backs end up pinching my ears. During one very extreme case when I had first gotten them pierced (which itself is an interesting story. Made short: I pierced them because a guy I liked had bought me earrings, not knowing my ears were not pierced), the backs were being pulled into my ear and getting stuck. I had to wear hoops for almost a year before they healed completely.

As for tattoos: I want one. Very badly. However, I am terrified of being in any sort of pain, so until I get over that...well, I'm screwed. However, that does give me a lot of time to think over what I want inked into my skin when I finally do get the courage to have something done. I'm considering a drawing combination of dragons, my Zodiac sign (Pisces), and the moon. Three things that I have always connected with, loved, and looked to for inspiration and guidance in my life.

And for another note, I hate hearing about people who go and get something done without putting thought into it. Example. A lady my mother worked with would not allow her daughter to get a tattoo. Granted, she was 18 and didn't legally need the permission of her mother...however I'm sure many of you understand the story of being legally an adult and still dealing with the rules of the roof you live under (I know I do). Her daughter pleaded and pleaded. "I just want two little ones: a devil on my right shoulder and an angel on my left. Please Mom?" Finally, her mother said ok, and off went her daughter to the parlor.

She came home with her name in 2 inch thick, BOLD RED letters across the back of her neck.

And not because that was what she had wanted all along. She did it to simply p*** off her mother for making her wait so long.

Obviously you cannot go in there and expect no pain whatsoever, but they both pretty much sat there the whole time. Though, as some have said I am sure, it hurts where there is more bone. Neither of them screamed, got teary-eyed, or anything. The other one is a bit bigger and has been through a lot of surgery so a tattoo was nothing.

So while it does hurt a little bit, I do not think that it hurts much as people think it does. Television and such seem to be very melodramatic in their portrayal of tattoos. Both of my friends said that you just get used to it after a while, and after it was over said they wanted another one because they actually ended up enjoying it. ;P

If no one ever plans on getting one, find someone who does and go with them just to watch it. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. The people there were really good. The tattoo ended up looking like a sticker. So very sharp and nice detail.

Sounds like your friends had a good experience, that's really cool. It's so important to take the time to find a good artist, and one that specializes in the style you're looking for. (After all, it's going to be with you for a while! ?_?)

I have two so far, and I'm getting two more in about a month... The first one I got is three X's, one on each shoulder and one on my back, between my shoulder blades (I'm straightedge). The second is a large script piece on my belly, says BELOVED surrounded by art nouveau decorative pieces. (Styled after Sailor Jerry's stuff.)

The next two pieces I'm getting are both on my back... On the top I'm working outward from the X, putting a half-folded old school shaving razor behind it, stretching from shoulder to shoulder, wrapped in ivy. The second one (oh boy, oh boy!) is a reproduction of Hokusai's masterpiece watercolor, The Great Wave at Kanawaga. I'm so fired up... ?_? My artist is the one guy in my state (and I've been to most of 'em) that I would trust with that piece, because he's as much into Japanese watercolor as I am!

They had to wait until one of them was eighteen, because her parents would never consent to it, lol. She called her mom afterwards, and she(her mom) was crying. I find that kind of funny, but yeah... >.>

The people at the place are really good. We were talking to one of the guys that work there, and of the five that do the tattoos, only two of them have never owned their own tattoo parlor at some time. Also, all artists were inspected and hired before the shop was even set up.

It was all very impressive.
The first one I got is three X's, one on each shoulder and one on my back, between my shoulder blades (I'm straightedge)
Heh, I saw that straight edge coming before I even read the parentheses. Thumbs up to you. ^_~

I went with someone (long story. In short she's like my second mother) to get a tattoo last year over the summer. It was really nice, the design was called "Dragon Lady" I believe. A fairy with dragonfly wings and a swirl as her head...it's the symbol for new birth or eternal life or something along those lines. She said it wasn't painful, but this woman's had 3 kids and plus she's really strong willed and the like. I, on the other hand, have not and am not. I'm sensitive to pain, I always have been, and I'm a firm believer in the fact that "just because it doesn't hurt you, doesn't mean it won't hurt me." ^_^ Which si fine with me, I'm in no rush to get a tattoo. I have my whole life to get one...there's no time limit to having one done.

Or you could be Triple X. What a horrible movie.

+1 for the straightedge crowd.
