Sui Generis
Originally posted by Sara I used to like that ride. Well...something close to it. You go into a circular...room, for lack of a better term. Everyone stood against the wall, and the whole thing would start spinning, so you were stuck against it. Once you were up against the wall, the floor dropped away, heh. They got rid of it, though, I think. At least, it was closed last time I went to the park. Does anyone else here frequent Six Flags Great America? Hm. I'm really not much good at amusement parks, heh. I've been on...two...roller coasters in my life. I'm not scared of heights, exactly...I don't know.
I went to Worlds of Fun an amusement park about 30-45 mins away from my house and they have that ride, only we didn't follow the rules! *grins* It was reallly late so no one waas there, so my friend and I both took turns sitting in the middle of the floor during the ride, then when you are stuck on the wall climbing so that your are horizontal, then go up-side down. Now thats fun! My favorite ride at the moment has to be either the Boomerang or the Orient Express. Both from World's of Fun. Although in a couple of weeks I am going to Ceder POint, I can't WAIT to ride the RAPTOR!! *drools!*

My favorite ride, well that is a tough one...I guess it would be the Vortex at Carowinds...it isn't the fastest or coolest ride, but I think I enjoy it the most... Queen Asuka
Originally posted by Shy My favorite ride is probably the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. The ride seems a little dated by today's standards, but I still love it. Everything about it is just a lot of fun, and I wish that other parks would try to emulate the storytelling that Disney theme parks do so well. All other amusement parks are a joke, in my opinion.
Ha, the Haunted Mansion. That ride is so cute. The first year I went to Disneyworld I thought it was boring, but this year me, Anna, and this girl named Emma were riding it together and this head popped out of a stump and all three of us screamed and then burst into laughter. I'd have to say that was too much fun. As for my favorite rides, well there are so many, so I'll just list them all. The Aerosmith Rock n Rollercoaster, MGM Studios, Disneyworld. It's one of those coasters that takes off super fast. It's indoors and lit with blacklights and it blares Aerosmith as you're riding it. SOOOO fun. The 3D Spiderman ride, Universal Islands of Adventure. OH MY GOSH, this is the coolest ride ever because it's 3D and everything feels so real. Everytime I ride it I'm freaked out because I always think a brick is going to hit me in the face. The Tower of Terror, MGM Studios, Disneyworld. I swear, we rode this ride a billion times in a row this year and planned out funny faces to make for each picture. It may just drop you up and down, but it's so THRILLING! I knew the little videoclip by heart. ^_^ The Hulk Rollercoaster, Universal IOA. Well, it's not as fast as the Aerosmith one and it's outdoors, but it's still amazing and fun. The Ninja, Six Flags over Georgia. This ride scares me so bad when it goes up that HUGE hill, but it's SOOOO much fun after it begins to drop. Dueling Dragons, Universal IOA. It looks like you're going to collide into the other coaster that winds around it. The fire dragon (aka red coaster) is the best. ^_^ I think those are my absolute favorites, but I know I'm leaving some out, like the Mindbender at Six Flags. And as for the Gravitron, man, I hate that ride! ^_^;
Syk3
My favorite ride is probably Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America. I like rides for the same reason that everyone else loves them: for the feeling you get in your stomach, and on Superman, there is a large drop, two medium drops, and three small, yet satisfying drops. It's my favorite ride in the park, and since there are very few other amusement parks that I've been to, I'm counting this one as my favorite until I go on a better one. Probably the only thing that I don't like about it is the restraints. If you put down the bar too far, it really hurts your..*trails off*
Tasrai
I just thought of another ride I really liked. It's called the Joker, it was really fun when I rode it. Probably because of the Chinese people infront of us, who hit their elbows and were yelling in Chinese the entire time... But, yeah... that ride is right up their with Pirates of the Carribean. ^-^ Oh! It's located at the SixFlags in Virginia.
Ryan
My old favorite had to be Mr. Freeze, but now I ride it all the time that it isn't that much fun anymore. Titan was really awesome, but my sister's friend had her eyes roll in the back of her head when she came to the drop that I have to admit, I was a little nervous about riding again. I haven't been to many amusement parks to have a real favorite. I might be going to Disneyworld next summer.
Star I Am Not
Earlier this year, I went to Wonderland in Canada (best. field trip. ever.) and the first thing my friend and I went to was the Drop Zone. No other ride in Wonderland scared the crap out of me more. Which is why I'm going on it again the next time I'm going there.

Semjaza
You know, why don't we even have any animatronic rides around here? I can't think of one place that has any other than Disney-whatever, and that's not exactly an option.
Vegitto4
I whent on the scrambler once. I hated it. But I was also a little kid, and it scared me to death. Now, however. I love wooden roller-coasters. Such as The Texas Giant, Judge Roy Scream, and Le Mansieur(or, however you spell monster in french). The last one is in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. On the Isle Ronde Much much fun

Lady Macaiodh
The Volcano at Kings Dominion is ******* amazing, and I don't use that expression very often. The line is this long tunnel, and if you've never been on the ride before, you can't see the beginning of the coaster and have no idea what's going to happen. I'm not going to tell you what it is, but, believe me, I got the shock of my life. My favorite all-around ride is the Berserker. It's a big boat that swings upside down. It hangs there for awhile. You sit there praying to yourself that the harness won't break. A lot of people won't go on it, because just looking at it is not for the faint of heart. One, my friend Joey spit off of it when it was upside down, and by the time the boat swung back down, the spit hadn't landed yet and hit him in his own face. People try to do that kind of stuff on that ride. You have to know the right moment to spit, or throw your gum, or whatever, otherwise you'll hit your own self. The scarier the ride, the better, in my opinion.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka The 3D Spiderman ride, Universal Islands of Adventure.
I laughed so hard when I read this, I thought I was going to hyperventilate. The same thing happens to me on the Stan Lee ride, because there's this one part where a skull creature is shooting his arm out at you and there's a big buzz saw at the end and it hangs there, slashing at your face. I always put up my hand to block it, then feel like a moron.

Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure in Florida have a few, and I belive that one of the Busch Gardens parks has an animatronic ride of some sort. I think the main reason that these rides are sparse is because of operating costs. There are not many people who know how to maintain animatronic figures, whereas roller coasters are pretty simple in terms of mechanics or whatever. We are getting a Tower of Terror at Disneyland's California Adventure next Spring. Everyone is really excited about it here, since this is the first major thrill ride that has been at a Disney park since Indiana Jones. BTW: Indiana Jones is an excellent ride, and you all need to go to Disneyland and try it. -Shy

Someone else knows the greatness of that ride. ^^ That has got to be my all time favorite, right there. I was a bit nervous at that first drop, it being how steep it is and my slight fear of heights, but after that, I was chanting "G-force!" the rest of the way like a big dork. lol My other favorite is the Joker's Jinx. I just love the way it takes off at 50 miles an hour. Sort of reminds me of the Hurler at King's Dominion. About got whiplash off of it, too. ^^; The only one I got on that had me reeling was the Batwing. --; Only reason being is that you have to practically stare at the ground the whole time, and they've got like three corkscrews in the thing. Needless to say I was pretty dizzy afterward.
Emme888
I like this carnival ride called the Kamkazie( excuse my spelling), it takes you up side down and whoa~! Such a head rush! WW2
Fall, the floor of the Gravatron doesn't really fall away. The matts on the wall, the ones you lean up against, just slide all the way up to the top. So you're basically just dangling there, held up by the G forces. Dragon Warrior
You know what ride really needs to die? The Country Bears one at Disneyland. Actually, it's not even a ride and they call it one. It's kind of silly, even for little kids. I remember when I went to it when I was little that nobody liked it. It's scarring beyond belief XD *wakes up every night and sees a shadow of a dancing bear on his wall and sweats immensly with fright*
