[Dragon Warrior]

... found a nice hotel. With the newly gained money, it'd work out nicely. After snatching a room, they entered and relaxed. Sether plopped down on the bed and Eve looked at herself in the mirror.

"I'll just sleep on the couch, if you want," Sether said, looking up at the ceiling.

"That's fine. You can have the bed."

"You sure?"

"Yeah." She smiled at the mirror as he fiddled with her hair. She grabbed up some of the money off the table and waved it at Sether. "How about I treat you to dinner?"

"With my money? I'm flattered." She stuck out her tongue and the two went downstairs to the dining hall.


They found a good table and Sether pulled out a chair for Eve and she seated herself with a smile. He sat across from her and picked up a menu. "Hmm... what to eat.." he said as he searched the menu.

"There's not a lot of stuff I like on here," Eve said after a moment or two.

"I know. I can't find anything." Sether then got a jolt. He felt Kitty near again. Odd. He wasn't even thinking of her and nothing seemed to trigger a thought. He let the feeling pass and covered the menu again.

BAM! The thought was back after he thought of waht to order. Then he saw Kitty in his head. She turned towards him and said "Sether..." He looked at her more closely. "Sether..." She brought up and fist and said "SETHER!"

"What?! Huh?"

"Sether!" Eve tugged at his arm. "You gonna order?"

"Yes, sir," said the waiter who was suddeny there, "Please do order."

"Oh, uh... prime rib."

"Very good, sir. I'll be back with appetizers." The waiter walked away and Sether put his head in his hands.

[Kitty]

Kitty had a very small sense of Sethar being near again, but she was didn't want to notice it. She then ignored it and continued walking down the corridor.
[i]If I wasn't so hungry, I'd be asleep right now. Damn stomach...[/i]
Kitty thought this all the way down to the main hallway.

Kitty: Hey Timer. You wanna eat here, or at a diner again? Maybe we can get fast food? What do you wanna do?

Timer: Chirp, chirp, chirp!

Kitty: A fast food joint? Cool. I think there's one only a block from here. Lets go, I'm getting really-

Kitty didn't have time to finish her sentence. A man was running towards the exit and didn't see her. He was bulky, so when he hit her, she skided about 3 feet while he went 2 feet. When she got back up, the man ignored her and tried to run past her again.

Kitty: Oh no you don't! Aren't you gonna apoligize to me for knockin' me 3 feet across the room? And these poor people want an apoligy too for bein' so rude to them.

Then another man came running into the mess. The first man started running, but Kitty flipped him out the glass doors, and then held him down. The other man came up and stared.

Kitty: Well? I pinned him! Do the three count! Ya know.... In wrestling? Any of this ring a bell? Fine. I'll do it. One, two, three! I win!! Ha ha!

Man2: Thank you miss! I am the owner of this hotel. This man stole 5000 dollars from me! See that package? That's my money. Thank you. What can I do for you to express my thanks?

Kitty: How 'bout lettin' me stay here for as long as I want for no charge.

Man2: I'm afraid I can't do tha-

Kitty: Half price, then?

Man2: Agreed!

They shook on it, and some security guards came and took the first man away, but not before attracting a large crowd. Kitty recognized a face.

Kitty: Sethar...? Sethar? Sethar! SETHAR!!!!

Sether had just managed to wobble over past the crowd with Eve who's leg still seemed to be injured. Kitty's mind went blank at the sight of her. He passed her by, not noticing.

"Sether!" She cried out, but he did hear over the crowd who shouted thanks and congragulations to Kitty about the successful catch. She tried to push past, but people held her there, shaking her hands and patting her back with grins. [i]Yeesh... I didn't save the world, ya know...[/i]


Back at the hotel room, Eve fell fast asleep on the bed and Sether decided it'd be a good time to relax and take a walk or something. You know, see the town.

With that, he unlocked, left the room, and locked it again and started down the hallway. A man walked out of the room ahead and walked in front of him, reading a newspaper. Kitty happened to just walk up the stairs and pass by the man and Sether without seeing him. Sether got frustrated and pushed pass the slow-moving man and down the stairs.

He then heard a chirp and saw a tiny bird on the banister. "What the... isn't that the bird that... nah..." He left it there and exited the hotel.

[Kitty]

Oops! XD Is it okay if I don't edit and fix it from here on out? Oh well... I will!

Kitty: Hey! Where's Timer!? Damn it! Those stupid people scared him! Poor Timer...

Kitty went back downstairs and looked for him. She heard Timer chirping outside.
[i]I hope he's okay! He's all I got in this city! Oh, where IS he?![/i]
She quickly walked through the doors with no glass in them and began looking frantically for Timer. She finally found him on a branch. She put him on her shoulder and tried to calm him.

Kitty: It's okay Timer! No one will get you! Here, let me take this bandage off... There. All done! You wanna try flying?

Timer: Chirp! Chirp chirp!

Kitty put him back on the branch and watched him take off. He could fly again. Kitty started walking towards a fast food place when Timer flew back onto her shoulder.

Kitty: What?! I thought you wanted to fly away...? Why are you back?

Timer: Chirp! Chirp!

Kitty smiled and walked towards the fast food place. Timer flew ahead and landed on a boy's shoulder. Kitty quickly followed.

Kitty: I'm so sorry sir! I hope Timer didn't bother you.... Hey!? Sether! It's you! You've been ignoring me!

Sether turned and saw Kitty. At the sight of her, he almost leapt back. "Kitty!" Kitty grinned and approached, but Eve stepped in.

"Hello, Kitty. I'm Eve."

"Huh? Who is this, Sether?" Kity asked, shaking Eve's hand at the same time.

Sether was started to see Eve all of a sudden, but played it cool. "Who she just told you she was. Eve." Sether grinned. "Met her on a trail here to Carra. She had a map so I went with her." Kitty looked at Eve's great figure and dashing looks.

"I bet that's the only reason," Kitty said sarcastically. She pushed up some of her hair out of her eyes with a blow from her mouth.

"Yes, well, how have you been?" Sether asked intently.

"Good, as usual." Timer hopped to Kitty's shoulder.

"I see the bird has gotten better."

"His name is Timer."

"Yes, well, that's very nice."

"Yes, it is," Eve interrupted. "Hey, Kitty, if you want, Sether and I were just going to a movie. You wanna come?"

"We were?" Sether was officially confused.

"Yeah, I'll go." Kitty said, leaping in between the two. "Let's go." Kitty gave a snickering grin at Eve. She knew what Eve was trying to do. But she wouldn't allow it.

[Kitty]

The movie was a chick flick, but even Kitty couldn't stand it. Sether and Kitty fell asleep about 20 minutes in. Eve, though, stayed up and cried and laughed with the rest of the crowd that was still awake. At the end, she woke them up and told them all about the movie.

Sether: I liked it!

Kitty: Yeah, the 20 minutes you saw.

Sether: That ain't less than you!

Kitty: Yeah, well at least I wasn't on a date. Oh! Oops!

Kitty grinned and Sether shot her a daring look. He didn't want Kitty to embarrass him. Eve seemed deaf though, since she didn't take notice and continued describing the movie. After about 30 minutes, they reached the hotel. Kitty went to her room, and to the surprise of Sether, Eve followed.

Sether: Our room's that way... Why are you going with her?

Kitty: Yeah! Why ARE you following me?

Eve: It's no big deal. I just wanted a little "girls party".

Kitty and Sether both snorted and laughed. Sether quickly regained a straight face, but Kitty kept laughing. Eve looked confused at Sether.

Eve: What's so funny Sethy? Why can't we have a "girls party"?

Sether: Well... It's kind of weird doin' that with Kitty. Since she is... um... kinda... How do I say it...?

Kitty: It's 'cause I've never been very good at "girl things". I've never had a "girls only" kinda thing, and I had never planned one. I think that a "girls party" is just very weird with me.

Eve: I don't mind. I just want to get to know you better.

Kitty and Sether both stared. Sether didn't want Kitty to start beating on him, and he didn't want to make himself look stupid in front of Eve, so he kept his mouth shut. Kitty on the other hand...

Kitty: You're kidding me! You still wanna go through with this?!

Eve: Oh come on! It'll be fun.

With that she got Kitty's arm (even though Kitty was trying to escape her grasp) and opened the door. She waved at Sether and shut the door, but not before Sether caught sight of Kitty's face. She mouthed: "Help me you dult! She's YOUR girlfriend!" Sether only looked on in amazement. He had no idea what was going to happen between Eve and Kitty.

Sether grinned and whistled down the hallway towards his room. He walked up the flight of stairs and to his door. Upon opening it, he heard a faint whisper inside. He put his ear to the door.

"I hope he gets here quick."

"Yeah. My dogs are killin' me."

"Then sit down!"

Sether recognized those voices. He opened the door the rest of the way and entered, giving a man in a white shirt a hug. "Roger!" The other man shut the door as Sether rejoiced. "Where have you two been? I could've used you back at the old city."

"Yeah. We heard about your little 'incident' in your apartment," Roger said, taking out a cigar and lighting it. He waved it in his hands as he spoke. "Ya see, Seth, Larry and the boys are coming after you. They killed some old man at a campfire after getting info from him."

"Oh no! Jumpy Joe!" Sether startled.

"Sure. That may be him. He was a it jumpy."

"How do you know about this?"

"Roy was there. Tell him, Roy." The other man stepped up. He was obviously Roy, Sether's other buddy.

"Well, Seth, they just ran up to him, asked if he saw you. The man had bad memory it seemed and jumped around a lot, but after he finally mentioned camping with a man in a black cloak and such, they killed him and went on. I hid in the bushes and took the shortcut here. They may be in town by now."

"Sether," Roger cut in, "You've gotta get out of here."

"Don't worry," Sether shook his head. "I'll be safe."

[Kitty]

Inside Kitty's room, she sat in a chair staring at Eve. Eve had her back turned. She was decorating the room. Kitty had no idea what was about to happen.

Kitty: Where did you get that stuff to decorate the room with? Well?

Eve: It's just some sheets I found in the closet. I've rolled them up and put them on the walls. Isn't it cute?!

Kitty: Um.. no. I think you're nice and all, but you here in my room, decorating a rental room! You're acting insane! What do you want from me, anyway?

Eve: I want... I want you to stay away from Sethy.

Kitty: I would if I could. I'm stuck with him.

Eve: Huh? But he wasn't with you when I met him! Why are you stuck with him now?

Kitty: You see, we're working together. That's all.

Eve: Oh. If it's just work, then okay. Hey, do you know anything really secret about Sethy?

Kitty: Did you know that he was a bounty hunter? The reason he's here is 'cause he's runnin' from the people he works for. Or, worked for... Is that, okay with you?

Eve was silent. She stared out the window. Timer suddenly hoped off Kitty's shoulder and went to hide. Kitty was about to get up after him, but the sight of Eve crying held her in the chair.

Kitty: I'm sorry... I didn't know that it would upset you.

Eve: My Sethy... my Sethy.. He wouldn't kill for money.

Kitty: Okay... You're right. I was joking. Everything better now? Good. I ain't good at helpin' others... Oh well. Why are you crying now?!

Eve: I know you're not joking about Sethy. I just... I just... don't want it to be true is all...

Kitty: Stop crying over him, okay? I can't help you since I... I never had a "boyfriend" either. They usually weird out before asking me, and the ones that do try get killed trying to defend me...

Eve: From... from what?

Kitty: From... never mind. It's nothing...

Later the night, when most likely everyone was asleep, Sether made his way out of his room and into the hallway with Roger and Roy. They snuck down the stairs and into the diner. Luckily the diner was open all the time. It was nice to have the place to themselves without any other annoying patrons basking and fiddling about such matters.

Sether sat back in the booth and watched Roger and Roy. Roy feasted on pastries and cakes while Roy poked at his teeth with a toothpick.

"So?" Sether started the convo up.

"Sether," began Roger after deliberately getting at his teeth. "We like you. That's why we got you a place out at Canzalo City. It's a small town with hardly no crime."

"I don't want to go there. The place is a dump."

"So what?" Roy said, stuffing his face. "You just gonna let us waste our money like that, ya jerk!"

"Roy..." Roger soothed. "Seth, come on. We're your pals. We'd never put you in a place you'd be uncomfortable with."

Sether rubbed his chin. "I guess that's true."

Roger slapped Sether on the shoulder. "Great! We leave tomorrow!"

"And Eve and Kitty?"

"Sether," Roger stood up, "You travel alone." Him and Roy left, Roy taking most of the food with him. Sether sat with the light flickering, letting the night pass.

"We'll come get ya, Sethy!" Roger called over his shoulder. "Be ready!"

[Kitty]

Kitty was watching the TV, while Eve was cooking. Eve seemed to be in a different world, as if the cooking was an excuse to be alone.

Kitty: Hey Eve... I know this might sound odd, but what would you do if Sether left you?

Eve: Hmm? If he... left? I don't know. I'd just start traveling alone again... How about you?

Kitty: He's already left me behind once... If he does it again, I won't try to find him. And if I do see him, I'll try my best to avoid him. I don't like the abandoning type.

Eve: How sad. You two seem so good to-

Kitty: Don't even go there. I don't... you know... That's just disgusting. You'd be better off with him. But he'll probably leave you... Why don't you go back to your room. I don't think he'll be too happy when he learns that he was the main topic.

Eve: You're right. I hope he isn't asleep! That way I won't have to worry about waking him up on accident!

Eve giggled and turned off the stove. She gave Kitty a plate and then walked out smiling. Kitty stared at the plate. It looked good, but she didn't want to eat.

Kitty: Where's Timer? I'd better find him. I hope Eve isn't dissapointed... Eh.. Who cares? She ain't my best friend or nothin'.

When Eve returned to the room, she noticed the door was unlocked. She carefully opened it and walked in. Nobody was there. She searched around the room from the kitchen to the bedoom, but nobody was to be found. "Sether?" She even checked the closet.

"Sether?"

She walked back out of the room, down the stairs, and back into Kitty's room which was still unlocked. "Kitty!" Kitty wasn't there neither. She could hear Timer chirping and he sat on the desk, munching birdseed.

After examining that, she heard water running. She walked towards the bathroom and heard the shower on. "Kitty!" Eve shouted through the door. A sudden THUD was heard. Most likely Kitty falling from shock.

"What?!" Eve heard in response.

"I can't find Sether!"


Sether was summoned by Roger and Roy earlier than expected. They wouldn't even let him bid Kitty and Eve farewell so he was gone out of the hotel in a flash. A taxi was called and the three of them started off towards the airport.

[Kitty]

Kitty tried to comfort Eve who was crying. She didn't know what to say, until Eve suddenly spoke.

Eve: I *hiff* know what you're thi-thinking. He di-did leave me *hiff* behind! I didn't th-think it would be s-so soon.

Kitty: Um... Well if it makes you feel better, he left me less than a day after we met.

Eve: R-really? Th-then why is he so k-kind to you?

Kitty: You call abandoning me twice kind? He even ignored Timer! I can't believe him. Leaving me then leaving you. All to save his own skin...

Eve's sobbing seemed to fade as she sat next to Kitty on the couch. Suddenly the phone rang and Kitty picked up.

Kitty: Hello?

Voice: I know where he's going.

Kitty: Why wou- Who are you?

Voice: That isn't important. You need him right now. Hur-

Kitty: Alex?

Alex: How did you know?

Kitty: You hired him. That's why. Now, how do you know where he's going?

Alex: I keep tags on all my workers, if they like it or not.

Kitty: HEY! You pervert! I-

Alex: Not like that! All I do is make sure I know where they are going, staying, you get the idea.

After another minute or so, Kitty hung up the phone. She was smiling kindly at Eve, who had now stopped sobbing.

Kitty: Hey Eve, I know where Sether is going. You still wanna find him?

Eve: Of course! Where?

Setehr got out of the taxi and looked at the giant airport. By now, it was morning again and he shunned the light that broke over his eyes.

"We're here," chirped Roger. Roy slowly got out of the taxi and shut the door. He snoozed the whole way after he finished eating more food. It was a mystery of how he does that without gaining a pound.

"So, we have to just jump on the plane and fly to Canzalo?"

"Yeah."

"I don't like flying," Sether backed away.

"No sweat, Seth. These airlines are perfectly safe." There was a sudden explosion and people screaming followed. "Ummm... don't mind that."

"Yeah, Seth," Roy butted in. "It's all good. Now, how about we get some bagels, eh?" The three of them entered the airport and searched around for food stands or diners. After feasting (Roy mostly did the eating), they got to their plane section and boarded.

Sether strapped himself in extra tight. "You might not wanna do that," Roger warned, sitting in the seat next to Seth.

"Why not?" Seth questioned.

"Just in case we must jump the plain, you don't wanna be tied down too tight." Sether understood and loosened his belt a bit. The plane would be leaving in 20 minutes.

[Kitty]

Eve had packed and was ready to leave, but she came back to Kitty's room. Kitty was surprised, and Timer began to chirp loudly at the sudden knocks on the door.

Kitty: Eve! I thought you'd left.

Eve: Come with me!

Kitty: What?! And pass up a glorious place like this?

Kitty was pointing at her tiny hotel room. Obviously she had no reason to stay, but she wasn't sure she'd like finding Sether agian.

Eve: Please? You and I can become good friends, and we can make sure that Sether doesn't pull a stunt like this ever again. Besides, didn't you say that you two are partners? Then why don't you act like it!

Kitty: But.. I just...

Eve: Come on, I bet Timer would enjoy a change of scenery.

Kitty: Well... Okay.. I'm all packed anyway. Come on Timer, we're going to Canzalo!

Kitty scooped up Timer and put him on her shoulder. Eve and Kitty quickly left the building, avoiding everyone. They quickly got a taxi and drove towards the airport. This took them five minutes.
