Why hasnt all of the reality TV stopped

Because people have not yet figured out that none of the so called reality shows will ever be reality. There is never going to be a situation where someone is stuck on an Island/Australia/Africa/Wherever, with a bunch of other people.

Reality TV sucks. Plain and simple.

I don't watch it anymore. Sure, Survivor was good the first season or so, but now it is just boring and stupid. The only reality T.V. I watch is the Real World and Road Rules on MTV. I have watched those for the longest time and I personally think it is cool. Fear Factor is ok, sometimes though.

It gets worse. I have heard rumors of an "All reality show channel." Just how far will this go?

Here is an idea for a reality show. Take all of the producers from Survivor, Joe Millionare and any others and place them in the middle of a "bad" neighborhood covered with all of their fancy clothing, and see how many make it out.

Almost all of my town was talking about Survivor, when it was on. And then Temptation Island.

It's as if the people around here live on the shows. They can't survive without them. If they stop airing reality shows on television, Dubbo's population will be halved.

Don't blame me. I hate them too.

They're cheap to make and lots of people watch them. I don't like them, you obviously don't like them, but that's not going to stop the millions that do. I didn't even watch the first Survivor because I thought it was boring. The only reality show I watched was Boot Camp.

I don't see anything "Real" about these reality shows. They put these sexy smart popular people in some dumb situation in which they would never have!

I like Black-Pheonix's idea.

Or better yet, pick up a bunch of dumb, ugly idiots off of the vegas street and force them into a small, locked room with a bathroom and only half as many beds as people with no TV, and all of their food comes through a hole in the wall, where people can order things like cheese burgers and stuff. The show that they put on would be "Real" then.

That, or have the camera follow around some nobody 23/7 and have people watch that! Real entertaining! Play videogames, watch TV, listen to music. Talk on the internet... that would be "Real".

Or just watch a gameshow or the news. That's real too.

I just saw the funniest thing on Comedy Central. Recently they have been making smart-@**ed commercials about reality shows that are completely off the wall. This time it was making fun of "Trading Spaces." The new show was called "Trading Babies." Now there would be an amusing reality show.

People don't want real reality TV. If they did, they'd pay attention to their own crappy lives instead.

Reality TV's basic idea at this point is putting people in weird unscripted situations (although sometimes I wonder how unscripted any of them are). It's not about following them around their house as they do everyday things.

Even the first season of the Real World used rather realistic people, compared to now where people basically must all look perfect and be aspiring to be a movie star or actress. However, the same basic idea is the same. There is nothing real about sticking a bunch of people who never met in a house knowing they are being taped... no matter how you slice it.

I think reality T.V. has an appeal because the American public, as a whole, tends to be attracted to controversy and scandal. You can say you hate reality T.V., which is nothing but controversy and scandal, but you can't say that you haven't sat through at least one episode of the Real World and not been like, "Oh my God! Did he really just do that!?"

Not a crusade, I just hate them. They have become predictable and boring. At first they were interesting, but now that the fad has brought out "new" ideas the whole genre is getting kinda stale.

If I want to see real reality TV I can just watch Real TV on TNN. At least I know the images on there are unscripted and not based on some off the wall situation.

Anyway, I will never have to worry about the channel. It is either on sat. TV or digital cable (neither of which I have).

I have never watched five minutes of any reality TV show. About all I see of them is the commercials.

Then why were you complaining about it?

Just because I can. Is there really any better reason needed? Just remember to think of that question from my perspective. Better yet, I will answer it now. No there is no need for a better reason. ;)

Happy now?
