This sounds like a silly rumour to me. A live-action version of an anime just wouldn't work- I severely doubt they'd convert Yu-Gi-Oh into it because the styles are so contrasting, and it'd lose its stylistic charm. Not to mention the hairstyles would be hard to replicate.

I COULD BE YUGI! ...Wait... I'm a girl, never mind...

Anyways, it would be something to see. *imagines Blue Eyes White dragon as a guy in a rubber suit* Godzilla-ized! That would be funny.
Of course, they could use computer animation for the monsters...

In all of the commotion of there being a DBZ and Lupin the 3rd live action movie, some say there will be a Yu-Gi-Oh one. While I personally like Yu-Gi-Oh, the thought of there being a live action movie is just quite stupid. DBZ and Lupin have been around for a while and have had the time to get popular in both US and Japan, where as YGO has only been around for about a year and a half. And lets face it...even if there was a live action YGO movie, what're the chances it'll be any good?

The closest thing to a live action move of YGO to me would be like what that Final Fantasy movie was. All computer animated, its expensive, but that's because they went overboard on the stuff but that gave it more of a realistic feel to it. That's what I think this movie might be like; meh it could be different than that.

I really hope they don't make a live-action Yu-Gi-Oh movie. AT least, not with those characters. NOT HAYDEN CHRISTIANSEN! Anything but that. And I don't think Frankie Munz would do for Yugi really, either. He looks similar, but... no, it doesn't seem right. The voice, for one thing. And he's not exactly the best-spoken actor around.

I think anime should stay as anime. At least with something with such a style as Yu-Gi-Oh.

O__O;;; *gags* Orlando Bloom as PEGASUS?!? *goes into a twitching fit* Gaaaah!!! Bad mental images!! I'm an Orlando-fan, and a Pegasus-fangirl, but trying to merge those two DOES NOT COMPUTE!!! ><;;

And I agree with Exodus, that dude doesn't look the LEAST bit like Bakura... ><; And somehow I doubt anyone they chose to play gentle, quiet Bakura could play Yami Bakura convincingly as well.

Which brings up another point. Frankie could play a good Yugi. But I doubt he could pull off Yami Yugi in a thousand years.

*gags again* The only casting that I think could work would be Shawn Ashmore as Joey. He could probably pull that off. As for everyone else... I wouldn't hold my breath.

::Shudder:: None of those people look like the anime chars. I don't mean they should look dead alike, but they imply don't give off the same feeling. That woman playing Mai, I personally think they should give her more hair.
The only one I think would ever work out, atleast by looks, is Emma Watson as Tea.Bloom as Pegasus come in like 2nd. I agree with some people and say let the anime stay and anime.

I don't think it'll make a live action movie..otherwise Pokemon would have gone that way. I don't think an anime based on dueling anything would make a good live-action movie.

On the note of that suggested casting I think that julia styles would to a good Mai..and that guy looks like a cool grandpa, but he has a tendancy to be too goofy. I tell ya who would make a good pegasus, Richard. E. Grant, now that's style.

Well there has been a rumor about Yugioh live action film going around for quite the longest, however...chances are it will never come to light. There are too many other anime's turning into film that I think studios will take a back burner to wasting too much money on projects like these until they see some results. Though it would be interesting to see Kaiba in all his glory. :D
here everyone, take a look at this:

http://www.janime.biz/usamovie.html

strange, i don't think that one Coulson guy could play Bakura, he doesn't even look like him
I first read about this whole live action thing from the same site a while ago.

I just can't imagine Yugi as a real person (The hair! omg that's gonna look so stupid >.<;; )... ESPECIALLY not with that actor. None of them look right in my opinion (the dude they picked for the grampa is an acception though <.<;; )

I say they should leave it the way it is. It's better as an anime anyways.

I'm pretty sure that if the movie does get made, the studios will have enough common sense not to try and emulate the hair styles. There have been quite a few live action anime films like Dragon Ball that didn't incoporate impossible hair styles.

However even that won't be enough to save the name of Yu-Gi-oh from being tarnished.

If they do it at all, I'd say stick with anime/CGI. They'll need it for the monsters anyway. I'd hate them try to do animatronics with some of them.
Hmm? What is animatronics? I've heard it, but I never knew what it was. It sounds as if it's something to make pseudo-animation/cartoon with real people.
