Goals in life...

I've been thinking lately about my goals and dreams in life that I will pursue no matter what. Hoever, I'm naturally beginning to question them as I grow older, however, it doesn't hinder my persistence.

For me, my main goal in life is to go to University after I go to College, this will open alot of doors for me in life. However, after that I do not plan on settling down immediately, I am going to travel to the Far East and escape from my home to a completly new culture. I think this will teach me alot of lessons in life. Then after I decide to settle down I feel I want to get involved in either the Writing, Acting or Design Industry. By Design I mean something alone the lines of Graphics or Computer Game Design.

Still, these all sound a bit farfetched. It's just something that has stuck in my mind. So the big question; Do you have any Aims or Goals you have created in life? If so, what are they?

Wen I get older, I plain on going to Japan and become a great manga artist, and compete in the Osamu Tezuka Manga artist award. Then I plan on coming back here, and sell my manga. That is one of my goals in life.

On of my other goals is to meat my favorite J-bands of all time. That would be a very cool thing to do. Those are my goals in life.

Haha, everyone, feel free to laugh at my dream, but the ultimate goal in my life is to become a legend! I know it sounds silly, but I want to have been able to have made a difference in this world, a good difference. People remember you for that kind of stuff!

My more realistic dream is to become a doctor and search for new, revolutionary medical techniques/solutions to handle problems that appear to be impossible to overcome in our current state. Haha, maybe that's a little far-fetched too... :D

I guess my immediate goal is to kick butt in college and get into medical school. Haha, my parents are complaining that I'm taking too darn long (I just finished my first year of college)! I hope it's worth it, since it looks like I'll be around 25 by the time I'm finally able to do that "resident" thingy-the name eludes me for the moment. I guess I feel better that I'm not the only person with crazy dreams! That's a very nice idea. I hope everything works out for the better for you. I mean, checking out the Far East would be interesting, but 1. I'm not airplane friendly, even though I've never thrown up; and 2. I'm lazy as hell. :)

Like Azurewolf, my immediate goal is to not fail college. Oh wait, that wasn't his goal exactly ... (Azurewolf, where do you go to college? I used to live in NJ ... :D)

Anyway, what I really want to do in life is become a writer. Unfortunately, I also don't want to starve. My current plan is to go into publishing after college and see what happens from there ... Although you can also starve if you go into publishing ... [puzzled look]

Eh. We'll see what happens. Oh yeah, web design would be cool, too (that's actually what my summer job is :D).

Personal goals... hmm...

One of them is to study in America... That's a biiiiig part of my future plans. Also to learn Japanese, I don't especially want to go and live there, but languages interest me (I have qualifications in French and German O_o) and I guess it would be fun to talk to people and be able to read their views off paper. I also plan to get a docterate in Computer Science ^_^

And I plan to be an author... I really plan to be an author - even if it's of just one book, that's something I will do.

However, I'm talking about all these as though they're things I'll never do. But I'm proud to say most of them are on course. I'm looking into Computer Science courses at universities, I'm taking a Japanese course next year at a college, I reckon I'll be able to take a year of university abroad. So, yeah... ^_^;; I figure I'm good to go with my life!

And Zidargh, dreams are things for "you" - whether they sound far-fetched or not is not an issue. If it's "your" dream, and you want it badly enough, you will "make" it happen ^_^ That's true of anyone who has dreams they don't think they can quite reach, they just have to jump that centimeter higher... ;)

My personal goal in life is to become another Walt Disney....I want my characters to be a rememberable as his is what I mean....When I get older, I'm going to work for Disney animation studios. I'm not being overconfident about the idea, I'm just not being to unsure either. If I'm worthy, then I'll get the job... If I'm lucky, I could start my own cartoon series, and they will be just as good as any old cartoon. I hope they would be at least.......

After high school I want to go to college and graduate with a degree in Journalism. My biggest dream is to become a writer for a video-game magazine. Why not? It combines my two biggest loves: writing and video games. In fact, I wouldn't even care which magazine I ended up at, just so long as I got into the business.

If you really want to get into Julliard, all you have to do is make your music your top priority after schoolwork. With enough time, patience and diligence, you could probably get in with no problem. ^_~

As for me, I've been wanting to become a manga artist for the longest time now, and I still want to be, but I've become more interested in writing and foreign countries as of late. I know for a fact that studying abroad once I get to college (perhaps in England or Japan) would help me out a lot, and fulfill a life-long dream. ^^; Of course, another big thing is not flunking out of college. That would probably mean my neck around where I live, lol. But really, I'm honest looking at being either an illustrator/artist or an author. If those fall through, I can always look toward my Cisco training for support.

I'd honestly like to pursue a carrer in Phychiatry. The human mind, and all the stuff that can go wrong with it, facinates me. That and it will be highly lucrative.

I plan on continuing to play my saxophone far into my life, but I would never like to get good enough to be in any kind of professional thing. I want it to be my enjoyment. Not my job.

I'd love to contiue to BMX bike for a while, but if I keep on getting concussed I'm not sure how much more my mom can take.

That's pretty much it.

Don't you mean "psychiatry", DoK? ;P

I want to be known as the guy to take over Canada and simultaneously make the world's most complicated crossword puzzle while blindfolded...and only using my feet to do so.

That's a short answer for "I don't know what the Hell I want to do with my life".

[b]My plans are to go to either UCLA or NYU and study...well, study something.

I really don't know what I want to study as of yet. Something in Cultural Beliefs, investigating, writing, teaching, or reporting will be nice. I'm leaving it to destiny to decide.

I want to become a doctor. My parents were both very poor whenever they were children, because they are both 1 out of 8 children in their families. I want to become a doctor so I can have enough money to let my children have a good christmas and holidays and birthdays. I don't went them to have to get an orange for christmas like what my mother and father had to get when they were children.

One of my main goals in life is to meet one person. We can all have dreams..

Other than that, it's trying to do half-decently and drag myself out of the mess I've put myself in by being a slacker. Ultimately I want to go to University, then onto something to do with gaming, for example programming/graphical work.

Torture myself for the next ten years in order to earn a lot of money. Then torture myself for the rest of my life in order to keep that money and earn more. In the end, I want a swishing white robe thingy, a pair of dorky glasses that looks sexy on me, a nice apartment to do whatever I want, a pile of money in the bank, my life reduced to a couple of papers in frames and a very intellectual vocabulary. If it fits my schedule, I shall also impress the plebians with my bombast.

I'll take what Daria said.

"My goal in life is to not wake up 40 years old and realized I wasted my life a slave to a check because I was forced to make a career choice as a teenager"
"My goal in life is to not wake up 40 years old and realized I wasted my life a slave to a check because I was forced to make a career choice as a teenager"
Haha, what the hell does that mean? Honestly, I'm curious!
Mine isn't much, though I want to be a provisional race driver. I'd love to be in the Australian V8 Supercars, though any racing would do, as long as it's to do with cars.
A provisional race driver? I've never heard of it. What do you do in that field?

Chaos, you have to have some idea of what you want to do, or at least some interests that could actually develop into a job for you. Don't you? Good at art? Good with computers? Good at writings? Something?

My dream...hmmm...I agree that college is a great thing to get through, but I would love to travel. Let's see, I'd like to go to India, China, Japan, London. The list goes on, believe me. Another goal would be to work for the Dept. of State. That and being able to witness Bush lose the 2004 election. ^_^

Mist is alive...

The Daria quote means she doesn't want to realize she was a slave to her job because she didn't get to make a good choice since people are forced into getting their main career in life at a comparably early age. If that even makes any more sense lol.

My only goal in life is to be basically content. Whatever the hell that would consist of, I don't even know yet.

Haha! Rock on Azurewolf! Legendary status is an excellent goal.

This sounds odd, but my goal is to get an entire section of The Norton Anthology Of World Literature published with my writing. I find that's how I write now...envisioning my story on that page, with a half-page of Norton footnotes. It helps me create more intricate phrasing and terminology. I picture myself reading this story in the Norton and ask myself, what would require an explanation of meaning?

The desired passage then comes to me.

While I write, I'm going to teach college level English courses. I quote Donald Sutherland from Animal House:

"Oh, I'm only doing this until I finish my novel."
A student says, "I'm sure it's very good."
Sutherland replies, "It's a piece of ****."

Should be fun.

Hopefully I'll get a full scholarship to college and than my goals are to become a journalist.....either in boardcast journalism or an oversea field reporter. I'll go to college, and intership at news network, while auditioning for movies, commericals, or theather.

Hopefully I'll make my dream in becoming an actress, but the journalist is a more realistic goal; I'm still going to try and become an actress. If not, journalist require camera poise, and intelligence. A nice good mix^_^ I'm doing plays at my high school, and at the local playhouse, and I do statewide acting competations...so I think I'm off to a good start. Wish me Luck this fall, with play tryouts.....lol
