Guess?
Which do you like more ninja or samurai? Also give a reason why you like that one better then the other. I like ninja better because the are silent assassins and can leave trais of themselves where ever they go.
Change
I dunno, bot are pretty cool but I prefer monks better. Peaceful, quite, ministering to the people...Until you piss them off and they go all gung fu on your arse!
OtakuSennen
Hm.. I'm not sure which I would prefer.. Ninjas- Nice outfits, nice weapons, really stealthy.. Samurai- Sorta silly outfits, one big-old cool weapon, and completely overt. Monks- ..Interesting robes, fists for weapons, sorta quiet.. I think I'd go with ninja 'cause they rock out loud!! In the way that they're all silent.. It would make a better movie, ninjas over samurai, IMO.. Of course, they were both important to Japanese culture 500 years ago. Raiha
Technically, the samurai have more strenght, but the ninja have more stealth. So, going with the best of both worlds...I say....women. Just kidding. I seriously don't know who I prefer better. I've always been attracted to ninjas....hence my unhealthy infatuation with Yuffie.
Mist
I'd have to say samurai. They have a strict code of honor that I think is pretty cool.
GinnyLyn
Auron from FFX was a monk first and then a Samurai. Since the original question was samurai or ninja, I go with Samurai. Ninjas always had a bad connotation for me. (Stupid Ninja Turtles corruption.)
Dragon Warrior
I like ninjas because of their stealth and agility and all that and they do wear cool suits, but like Ginny said, Ninja Turtles messed it up XD Samurai are always nifty with their weapons and Code of Honor. Plus, lots of my favorite shows have samurai (Samurai Jack, Rurouni Kenshin, etc...)
Zen
Samurai are more honorable. Jedi highly resemble the samurai. (clothes, weopons, training, beleifs) Ninja's have super stealth. Orginal Secret Agents.
Evisoun
I think I'll go with ninja. Less messy. More quiet. Samurai outfits are nice, though. That little boyscout code thing - yeah, I'm not much into that. And for you Ninja Turtle haters - I always thought they were sexy. That built green body of theirs. And the shell... Headbands, so hot! err... just kidding.
pbfrontmanvdp
They're basically the same except a samuri usually works alone(even they it gets trained by a clan) while a ninja sometimes works with a clan/alone. I would be a samuri since i want to eventually learn how to become a skilled in a sword. Thats basically all a samuri uses, and they are also stealthy as well. Nah women are usually quicker in the legs compared to a guys and guys are usually quicker in the arms. So i say id rather have women legs and guy arms...that would be one creepy looking person though.
Justin
I say samurai, seeing as how 10 ninjas may enter one camp on 10 different nights to kill one Taisho, and they may all be killed by the same single samurai guard. Ninjitsu is not a very effective combat martial art, lol. Especially when the other guy is guaranteed to have a sword, and you're not, and his sword is guaranteed to be of much higher quality than any sword you may or may not be carrying, lol. To choose here, you have to understand the nature of the two--so few do. Ninjas were spies, most of the time. Sometimes they became assasins. Assasins who either took their victims by surprise, killed them from a distance, or killed them while they slept. They did not fight their victim, then kill them. If a ninja got caught, they were basically dead no matter who it was that caught them. Samurai, on the other hand, were killing machines. Trained to be fearless, loyal and effective, they were capable of more than dealing with any ninja on the planet. A good katana(or even a wakazashi, for that matter) will split a ninja sword in half as easily as the armor of another samurai. So, when the two met in combat--there was little combat. The ninja's best option was to run if he could. If he could not, all he could hope was the chance to commit seppuku, assuming Japanese culture allowed ninjas that chance. -Justin
GinnyLyn
And unfortunately, if the ninja got away with killing a samurai's master, the samurai tended to commit seppuku. :twitch: At least, early on--that was outlawed/forbidden after they figured out that wasted a lot of good Samurais. Sidenote: seppuku is
when a samurai takes his own life, usually by falling on his own sword (preferrably impaling his own stomach, argh), or allowing himself to be beheaded, because either his master died, he disagreed with his master, or he failed to protect his master.
The best way to die was in battle but as pointed out, these guys had a pretty strong code of honor.
Mmm...that's kind of a misnoma. Ninjitsu is a defensive martial art. In other words, it's a practical martial art. You don't learn how to wield some big heavy sword -- you learn how use your keychain, or something of everyday use, for your defence. Ninjitsu is primarily a defensive art. You learn to avoid combat as much as possible, whereas Samurai are designed purely for battle. You really can't compare the two, in terms of which is more effective. However, just because Ninjas avoid combat doesn't mean that they can't win a battle. Ninjitsu, as an art, can be frighteningly fast and confusing. It's not about weaponry so much, it's more about using your own body and basic objects at your disposal, for your own self defense. Although I know that in a historical context, Ninjas were used for a variety of purposes. They were obviously good assassins because of their ability to be silent and to avoid physical contact. But yeah, don't let that make you think that Ninjitsu isn't effective as a combat-based martial art. ~_^

DuoMax
Actually ninja, are techically samurai, just that they weren't quite so honorable. Personally, I'd go with samurai. All that honor stuff is just cool.

Guest Crimson Spider
Samuri were outlawed when the participated in a revolt againstt an emporer. Just FYI. I would like a ninja, for stealth. Hiden and_all. That, and they aren't really illegal, as samuri are.
Zen
I'm not saying Ninja are cowards, but they have a knack for killing without fighting the man(or woman) head on. THey are almost cowards in a since, but extremely powerful cowards. They always come in numbers and kill in the shadows while samurai have too challenge you by the laws of Bushido, or they must kill them selves via Hiri Kiri or Seppuku. WW2
No matter how much I like the Samurai, I still favor the Shinobi. This is mainly because the art of Ninjitsu allows them to be more crafty than the straight forward Samurai. Ninjas have a variety of weapons at their disposal, not just a sword and spear. Their art of stealth is also a major asset. Plus, they too have a strict code of honor that rivals that of the Samurai. But this is all just my opinion.:D
Spikey
I prefer Ninja much more than I do Samurai. One reason is because Samurai stand out and could get killed much more easily, while Ninja's use their stealth to attack and move at night, unlike Samurais who jump out and get theirselves killed. I guess I just prefer stealth over strength.
Japan
I would prefer Samuri because they have a code of honor. I love their outfits a lot too. I wouldn't want to be a ninja because they aren't very loyal and they aren't very predictable. I wouldn't like to hide in the shadows all my life. That's why I would prefer samuri over ninja. KingGogeta63090
Well I would have to say that I like ummmmm.....I will tell you at the end! Ninja's are extremely mobile and agile. They cannot be detected at some points! They are also skilled with a variety of weapons from swords to nunchucks to stars! But when they are eventually caught by another ninja etc. they are not that strong brute strength wise. The samurai is extremely agile on foot in battle but cannot hide like the ninja! He can defeat any enemy and kill him in an instant. But the only downside is that they cannot hide as well as Ninja's. But when you think about it who needs to hide when you have all of that strength! My answer is the.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................Samurai! I was focusing my comments more on the idea that Ninja aren't fighters and that they are more like spies. I studied Ninjitsu at a school near my house a couple of years ago -- until that school closed down. (-_-) So, I gained a good grasp of how it works, at least in terms of modern day martial arts.
