Mmm, have you ever done cross country? I do it with my mother every winter, and afterwards, we are sore and victorious. Mostly because cross country is one of the hardest snow involved activities you can do, besides shoveling it. There's no major slope, just flat land you have to push yourself through. You want a challenge? Cross country is a challenge. Thank you.
Pshhh! You think that cross country skiing is difficult? Try cross country snow boarding, hopping all that distance is insanly intense! :p

I have never been skiing or snow boarding, although I have ridden my sled standing up on several wicked hills :p I actually plan on learning how to snow board late fall/early winter. There are plenty of mountians and tons of snow here in Ohio, so I guess nothing is stopping me.

I went to Heavenly at Lake Tahoe, CA. It is mostly skiers thereand they weren't very nice to the snowboarders. I know because I am snowboarder.
I went to Heavenly all fall and winter last year! ^^

Though, everytime I went there, there was an equal amount of snowboarders and skiiers, and I was there every week for at least three days. Not to mention, they were just fine with each other. Everyone seemed to be just fine, and there were actually more snowboarders last time. But I didn't feel any tention going on. Since the place was so packed near food courts, everyone had to share tables. There were plenty of skiiers with snowboarders they never even met, and they all seemed to be fine with each other.

...But maybe it was just me, but, I never really felt any tention in Heavenly or Steamboat, Colorado...

As per with the topic, snowboarding bar none. Its more fun, and I don't need little sticks to push me in the right direction.

All my snowborading friends HATE skiers. But since I'm a skier i tell them to shut up.

I've tried snowboarding and i hated it, so I decided to stick to skiing. I don't hate snowboarders though.

This is a weird topic.

If I didn't have little sticks, I wouldn't be able to impale you with them for insulting my favorite winter sport. Then again...that's your opinion, and you've probably never tried cross country. I don't do it for the right direction, I do it because when you're flat, you have no momentum and can't move otherwise.

I used to ski when I was little but I sprained my ankle and have been scared to ever since, unless you count water skiing. Now I'm a snowboarder, and I go to Tahoe pretty much every year. I've been to pretty much all the big resorts there; heavenly, mt. rose, and the like. I went to mammoth this easter, too.

I personally think that any skier/snowboarder tension is just plain stupid. What's the basis? It's just two different things. A preference. In my immediate family of 5 people, only my dad and I board. The others ski. In my extended family, approximately 20 cousins and 15 aunts/uncles, everyone that does one skiis. The only tension we have is occasional joking, i.e. "you darn snowboarders think you own the slopes!" I have no problem with skiers. After all, they have been around longer.

I don't use the 'little sticks to push me in the right direction'. I can do that without the poles, and like Raiha said, they're for pushing you while you're flat. Besides, it's not really the best idea to steer with the poles anyway.

I really don't see a reason snowboarders and skiiers should dislike each other. It sounds pretty lame, if you ask me. - .-;

[sarcasm]I've seen Johnny Tsunami though, so I'd imagine there's gotta be some tension. [/sarcasm]
yeah I've see that too.odd movie. I probably can't say much since I don't do either(I want to snowboard though) but when I went up with my sister (to pick up her friends) there weren't any issues
between snowboarders and skiirs. *shrugs shoulders* i do know some ppl who are all like :flaming: when someone talks about skiing "skiing sucks!" Then I know one guy who is all like :mad: "skiing rocks!You snowboards are stupid!" so whatever. I've never seen them attack each other physically at least.
