pbfrontmanvdp
I finally got a new car and for the first month or so i didnt have EZPass, because i wasnt able to transfer the one from my old car to the new one (i wanted one for both). I finally used the paying tolls for the first time, and i have to say they are the biggest pain. Its never the same amount its always either 25 or 35 cents, and i never have enough money on me. So i finally got my EZPass sensor mount to put on my new car and the first thing it says to me when I went through a toll both is "EZPass unpaid". Now whats the deal, i just got the stupid thing and thats the first thing its says when i use it. I went through the other ones later on in the day and they were fine, but why did it do that the first time. I went through it at 15 mph so i wasnt speeding through it. At least i dont have to wait in the long lines like the other people do and also as well risk the chance of not having enough change or missin the cage where the money goes in at. So im just wondering out of this pointless thread i just made...do you hate or like EZPass and why.
Corey
Just to be clear, an easy pass is an electronic way to pay tolls right? It sits on your dash or something and hits another sensor saying you went through, right? Or am I not getting this.
AzureWolf
Yeah, that's exactly what it is, KnightOfTheRose. I love EZPass, but I hate people who hate EZPass. Weird, huh? Well, let me elaborate more... There are some people, for whatever reason, who hate you because you use EZPass. It's not even like a luxury: anyone can get it! So what's the big deal?! Anyway, these people go out of their way to get in YOUR way so you can't get to the toll booth until they do. I mean, obviously they only do this when the non-EZPass sections are long and crowded, but it's stupid to see two empty EZPass tolls blocked by some people who are trying to cut into the lane, only to stay at the front of the EZPass toll until someone lets them in. :nope: Anyway, EZPass is great! Fast, efficient, and sweet. You can see the difference both during normal time and high-traffic time. I haven't had any problems with it at all. If they haven't said anything about the "unpaid" thing, you shouldn't worry. Sometimes it didn't read my EZPass (it would say "No EZPass"), but upon exiting, it would say, "EZPass Paid." RicoTranzrig
In California (Bay Area), we have something like EZPass called FastTrack. It's great...instead of paying the 2 dollar toll, it's like $1.80 each time...that saves a lot when commuting. Plus sometimes I coast, it registers but it never logs it down when I get the bill. The only bad thing is that while most bridge tolls support it, it's not on all lanes, which can be bad in hostile traffic.
Guest Randleman
Well, I go through the tolls once a month at most, so it would cost more for me to have a "FastLane" pass (in massachusetts it's called FastLane). So I like not having one, because it it cheaper for me. I would get one if I ever have to travel though to tolls more.

Usually, I hold up the FastTrack thing while dad zips by. *snicker* It's quite fun really, but the people are really cruel up here. They're really nice in L.A. probably because you never know who's gonna pull a gun out on you.
LostProphet
We've got TollTag here....but I don't drive, making it useless to me unless I strap it to my helmet and bike through the tollbooths

Harry
In houston we have two lanes dedicated exclusively to EZpass and everyone just speeds on through.
Fall
We don't even have tolls where I live. You have to travel atleast six to seven hours before you go through the first pay-toll. Which is good. That means we only have to worry about paying for petrol when we're going somewhere in town, or even 300 kilometers away, without having to make sure there's change for the tolls. ...and if I remember correctly, the tolls around Sydney are like $2.00 or something. EDIT: "EZPass" hasn't even been heard of here.. I'm not sure if it's used in the cities here or not.

Nah j/k, but that seems kinda odd that the tolls are spread out that far. Man if i lived were you were that would be great because in New Jersey, (capital of the worst divers and undrivable roads) there are a lot of tolls. Someone said how they hated how people put down others who have easy pass, I know how you feel. Its not like people who have easy pass are all rich snoty people, its just makes life a little easier. I still want to know the answer to one of my questions though...what does it mean when the signal says "Eazy Pass Unpaid"??? Does it mean it didnt registar it or something???
