WHy are they so much into the game. How could u cry because of a game(subaru). They make too much out of the game . Too much loyalties and people usually make it seem like its real life in some sort of dark ages . What do yall think

Crazy, they don't call it a role-play game for nothing. :p

Hot keys or chat commands also give Subaru, and everyone else the option to cry, touch, smile and just about any other emotion. The reason they make so much of the game is because that is the style of the game. They log into The World as their characters, not as themselves and they play their characters as they feel free to. And I'm quite sure a lot of people play differently then the characters .hack//SIGN is based upon, they just don't show it in this series.

Is it actually hot keys?
I figured that with the technology in the series, the virtual reality headset could respond to facial muscles activity and project them in "The World". But hotkeys would be much easier.

I think it would have to be key commands. In the Liminality DVD's they show the game being played with a PS2 controller. Plus, the VR visor only covers the ears and eyes, making it too small to read enough muscles movements to determine mood. Also, in the scene with Subaru crying she was not wearing a visor.

I am not so sure of that. When they first showed her from the doorway I did not see the visor, nor was it around when they zoomed in on the screen. Plus, it seemed like the sound was coming from the screen's speakers. If it were from the visor I do not think could have heard it when Tsukasa asked her if she was crying.

Maybe I am just over-thinking things a bit here.

Personally, I think people forget this show is also an anime, and that there are other things besides gadgets and "tech" behind everything. Call me conceited, but I really like the answer I gave in the episode 15 thread ( http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25117 ): :D
That scene everyone is talking about (Subaru and her tears): there's a lot more symbolism than that. The scene showed the complete immersion of reality and fantasy. We saw in episode 14 that Bear and Mimiru were experiencing the same thing (when Bear is holding Mimiru after she fell), but thanks to Bear's wisdom and solid intellect, their two worlds remained segregated. Being able to drop a tear in a fantasy world: I immediately noticed that, and I was shocked. Haha, it was crazy. Not only that, but the fact that she has a connection to feel Tsukasa in "The World." People, the characters are beginning to become the characters they play!
Episode 14/15 is the tear part everyone is talking about, right?
