Do you know how to play the drums. I love the drums. In fact I like anything you can make noise with when you beat it with a stick. D you like the drums?

The atachment is a cool song played on marching tennors. (You will be asked if you want to download it. Say yes and it will open up as a paint file.) I am in the highschool marching band and I tought it sounded neat.

[color=ff00cc] [size=1]er... I played on my friend's drumset for six weeks! ^^;; (Don't know if that counts, though...)

Anyway, it was really fun, but I found it a litty bit harder than I thought. The part I found hardest was pressing the base over and over with my foot. I don't know how my friends can actually do that real fast for a long time. My foot gets tired after doing it for like, three minutes, even. x.x;

The best part was watching and listening to them play, though. They can play along to almost all my mp3's, even the ones without drums actually playing in the songs. ^^;;[/color] [/size]

[size=1]My brother's a Studio Drummer which means he plays with certain bands to fill in and he also teaches the drums. At school im a snare/tomb. Anyways he's been teaching me since I was about 11. (I'm 13) He's 18 and he's been learning since he was about 9. So I'm pretty good myself. I'm natural because my brother's always playing the drums so I've heard him playing my whole life. Which means I have really good beat. :sleep: Hey! Wake up! Anyways I love the drums! :D

i love the drums and my parents would even get them for me except for teh fact that they make a lot of noise. Of course my dad has 2 guitars and a mandolin, my mom has a violin, and my sis ter has a guitar. a lot of noise that they wont let me contribute to. i played my cousins durms while i stayed at his house and ive loved them ever since.

Yes they are heavy. I hadto do some back strengthing excercises so it wouldn't hurt me.
I play the snare in the concert band and the tennors/quads in the marching band.

dude quads are awesome. my brother is amazing on them and so he taught me a little bit. they are so cool. but i love all drums and can play most of them that are involved in marching band. i play the alto sax tho :[ i love drums tho!!! my dad plays (or he used to) so well that it isnt even funny. he was in a band too!! they were pretty big for a gospel group. . . anywayz ive been around drums my whole life. hey goven. . . if you want some awesome drum stuff- go to the cavaliers and bluedevels website. . . they are drum corps and are soooooooo good. they have downloadable music of almost all of their songs and cadences. . . it is soooo cool. but check them out, im pretty sure you can just search on yahoo- i havent been there in a while so i dont remember the website, sorry. or you could go to one of the "illegal downloading sites" if you want, but i dont recomend that. but whatever floats ur boat. lol. well just check them out. also there are like 20 other corps you can check out. . . try the spirit of jacksonville. . . they are from my state ^__^

i dont know what you would use for win mx. . . maybe if you typed in the name of the corps and clicked on artist(if it is anything like kazaa that will work, probably.) the websites- the one for the blue devils is [url]www.bluedevils.org,[/url] and the cavaliers website is [url]www.cavaliers.org.[/url] that should do it. or you could search on yahoo.

well, im a wanna be drumer for the drum line. I have a few parts with the snare drum though, i have to practice this week, Its the Tenors/quads/quints that I want to play, but i'll probably start out on Bass drum when I get in.

Drum Line is a fun movie to watch if your already in Marching Band. Expesially when the drum majors go out onto the field.

I hate playing base. I like quads, thei the best. That is what I play. They are fun, but they are hard.

[FONT=arial]for me, snare is harder to play. while you do have to be pretty good at drumming to play quints, it takes a little more technique to play snare. playing snare, just about everything you do is critiqued. it's like since you only have one drum to worry about, you should be paying more concentration on stick heights, rudiments, visuals, so on and so forth. playing quints, as long as you have good sticking, play the music right, and you don't do anything bizarrely weird/wrong, you're pretty much alright. I'm sure if it was something like national competition the grading would probably be a lot heavier.
base drumline is pretty cool too though. it can be lotsa fun, especially runs ^_^. providing you get decent music, anyway. quints are still my favorite though. I'd be so happy if I could do butterfly strokes. *gets glazed, spaced off look in the eyes*

one of my favorite groups would have to be the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. my band director videotapes marching competitions and lets us watch them in class sometimes. anywho, the first time I saw them march, I about choked. frickin' awesome. definitely check them out.

we've got a Spanish theme this year and one of our songs is Spain (go figure)! it sounds pretty awesome. it's supposed to be a drum feature, but my band director is trying to incorporate the rest of the band in it >.>'. guy can't leave well enough alone. aggravating so-and-so. anywho, go to [url]http://www.rowloff.com/MarchingFolder/MediumMPF.php[/url] and download the song (it'll be somewhere near the bottom) if you want to hear how it sounds.

as for the movie Drumline, bleck. I was disappointed. besides, if someone had tried pulling the stunts that the Nick Cannon guy did, (s)he'd've been kicked off and [i]stayed[/i] kicked off. we've a got a rookie or two who's seen that movie one too many times and think they're God's gift because they can play cheese on snare that took them about 6 months to learn in the first place, and are the laziest s.o.b.'s. one of them is playing the quints I played on last year. :flaming: blasphemy. most of the drumline's about ready to give 'em whatfor, if not kicked off if they don't shape up soon. and good riddance. Is it just in our marching band or does everyone get nicknames on the line? Like we have Oscar Weener we are lookin for someone to call meyer as we get Oscar Meyer Weener. hehe. henwe have Camo chuck Stroodle and Kazz.

[FONT=arial]so far nobody has a nickname this year. but last year, somebody was called Jewsh because his name was Jess and he wore a wig similar to the hair color of a snare player named Josh for something like a spirit day. then there was Uterus....er, Jeremy. we were going to be performing Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' with the color guard and drill team for Halloween, and during one of the practices, we were learning at what part in the song we were to do 'pelvic thrusts'. Jeremy goes up to Anna and says something like, "Okay, so do I put my hand on my uterus?" hoooooo, you should've seen Anna. she said, "........Sure.... if you have one." it was too late by then, because most everybody on the drumline had heard him. we couldn't practice for about five minutes because everybody was laughing so hard. he's been branded with the name ever since. smart folk, us drum people are.[/FONT]
