Jubei Yagyou
Has anyone had Mononucleosus? (sp?) I've had it and it sucked, I had the worse kind where your not tired all the time but your barfing every second and you cant eat or sleep. I had to miss a trimester and a half of school cuz of it. YOU DONT WANT IT! If you have had it say and share the expierience, I have met no other kid my age that had it.
Sara
I had pneumonia last year, and was more or less sick for about six months. Our resident RN says I had mono as well (thus the whole, "being sick for an extra five months"), but I was never officially diagnosed. I guess I'll never know, will I? In any case, having pneumonia pretty much sucked. It was better when I knew what I had, but I had respiratory problems for quite a while before I went to see a doctor. ...Not being able to breathe is scary.
Raiha
My friends got it from sharing the same can....of soda...and now. I am paranoid beyond belief. If it's a communal ANYTHING, I stay away from it. Being exhausted for life is not my idea of fun. So, I carry my own drinks around, my own food, and disinfectant wipes/hand lotion. Call me a psycho, but it's for my own good.
GinnyLyn
Mono was the first time I ever had to get my blood drawn--scared the stuff out of me. I had both mono and bronchitis (sp?) at the same time, years ago. Everyone kept teasing me about the stupid joke of who I kissed to catch it. >.< I was out of school for a full week, couldn't laugh, sing, or breath deeply without going into a major coughing fit for a full two months. Ugh. And if you know how much I like to sing and laugh, you can tell how much that annoyed me. Lots of fluids. Whee. Not being able to stand up for fear of fainting. Double whee. Throat so swelled up I couldn't swallow. Tripl--you know, I couldn't even take my medicine, my throat was so swelled. We had to go back to the doctor and get liquid medicine. I remember going back to the doctor after that week. He warned me not to give blood or to get into a car wreck for two full years. Something about my spleen being swollen (that in itself produced some funny jokes, heh). Also, if me,myself, andI caught mono again, I'd die from it. Most people can catch mono all the time, but I guess I'm a special case. Whee. :twitch:
Jubei Yagyou
Ya I had that feeling too GinnyLyn, but I had it for 4 months, and I went to kung pow (when I still had it I didnt know I had Mono) and I was laughing sooo hard then coughing then choking and stuff. It really stunk. DONT SEE TO KUNG POW WHEN YOU HAVE MONO!
SadClown
^^ I got Mono a week before my Senior year of Highschool and let me tell you, it sucked so bad. My throat swelled up so big that I couldn't breathe if I layed down, so I didn't sleep for 3 days straight. I couldn't eat, I couldn't drink, but I wasn't throwing up at least. One night my fever reached 101 degrees and I had to sit in a cold bath for half an hour untill it went away. It was the worst experience of my life. At least I got over it in 3 weeks. SaiyanPrincessX
I haven't had Mono but I have had Pneumonia; 7th grade. I absolutely hated it. I was so misrable. When I had the covers over me I was hot, yet I was cold at the same time. If I took them off, I would be freezing. It didn't help that it was snowing outside either. Every time I looked at it I got cold.:nervous: I had it for about a week before I went to the doctor. I missed about 2 or 3 weeks of school. Tons of homework when I went back. ¬_¬ Actually last winter alot of people in my school wre getting Mono. I mean people were getting sick everywhere. It was kind of strange too, considering it was the coldest winter we've had in along time. Cold weather kills most germs.
Skyrose
I must have had a mild case of mono, a *really* mild one, because I didn't even know I had it. The doctors found a large number of mono antibodies in a blood test I had taken for other things... O.o I thought I had just been tired from lack of activity. I'm really glad I didn't get it like you guys did, sorry you had to go through all that o.o
Fall
What exactly is this disease? I take it that it's bad, and I don't want it, but what is it? The only serious enough disease or infection I've ever had is Bronchitus. Man, I hate it. Once it was gone, I had to get my tonsells taken out. My throat was so damn sore. PiroMunkie
One of my past girlfriends had mono while we were together. The funny thing is that she did not know she had it until after about a month. So one day she comes up to me and says, "I was at the doctor yesterday and apparently I have mono, which would explain my ill behavior this past month. So... I just thought I would apologize in advance, in case I passed it on to you." -___-;; I never did get it, which I actually find rather amazing, lol. ^__^; I think I have a strong immune system or something. I rarely ever get sick. I could probably drink the blood of someone with herpes and be fine... Not that I would care to find out.

According to my friend, mono the virus, is the most dehabilitating disease you can ever catch. Zen
I had a slight case of it. I was always tired. I felt like the cream of the crap (thats not misspelled) and i was on the porcelan throne every five minutes. I feel your pain. I got over it last month. Actually, thats how i got into this site. Because i didn't want oo go outside so i jumped on to hear. And what makes it worse is the fact hat i caought it by forcibly playing a kissing game. Lets just say the girl i caught it from was unsavery.

Jubei Yagyou
You get it from (EEK!) exchanging saliva sharing pop, making out, stuff like that. There are two types, the type when your tired all of the time, or the type when your throut and your splein swells. and you cant eat or sleep, and have high fever
Baron Samedi
Sounds like loads of good quality entertainment for the whole family...... I hope that i never get it

Karta
I've never had Mono but girls at my school get it ALL the time from sharing drinks. That's partially why I never share a soda with anyone. (One of my sisters teammates from soccer got it too and I hear that it's pretty awful. She had to sit out a ton of games.)

pbfrontmanvdp
Yes i have had mono(technically)...but whats great is im immune to it. Yep im one of the few that is immune to mono (thats what the doctors say at least). I didnt even know i had it till i was done swimming and i got the Epstein Barr virus(what comes after having mono, its like the last stage of it sorta). That is the only thing i can get, its kinda weird that i can get the lesser part of the two diseases. So i was only sick for 2 days, and i only had one really bad day when i was swimming at a meet and i got out of the pool with a 106 degree temperature and had to go to the hospital.I basically collapsed once i got out of the pool and i dont even remember passing out or even swimming the race. It wasn't really that bad though im just mad i dont remember if i got a good time or not. So what i want to know is if anyone else is immune to Mono??? Selling antibodies for $105 a cell....nah really though i wonder if since i am immune to mono if my immune system would be any help to others??? Guest YokaiWaSeikatsu
yea i got mono once.i didnt have the whole multiple symptoms crap, but dont think that helped.Instead, it seemed as tho all the germs went 2 my throat. The pain was indescribable.Breathing in at all felt like swallowing boiling water.i was literally in so much pain i contemplated choking on ice and breathing through my nose just 2 slowly let it melt in there.Luckily i managed 2 hold off on that.
