LooseMoose
Anyone play any tabletop wargames? Such as for example Warhammer Fantasy/40K and any of the sub games? For anyone who hasn't got the faintest idea what I'm talking about its little minis(28mm normally) played on a table in a turn based game. Its pretty cool if your into that type of that thing. It also might appeal to you artistic types because you have to paint all of the minis too. So.......anyone play?:)
Doukeshi
yeah, I used to watch my brother play Warhammer and Warhammer 40K all the time. I started kinda playing too. The High elves I think are the best physically, and are the easiest to master, however the undead and the human's such as the empire are really good to get to grips with if you have experience ^_^. That's Fantasy anyway, Eldar and Space Marines are the best 40K wise, personaly my favourites are the Katchan jungle fighters and the Talan desert raiders. Guest Randleman
I play Warhammer and 40k with my cousins when I see them. They are big players and so is alot of people in their community. I would play where I live, but no one plays. So I just use their army's and play with them.
LooseMoose
Nice responses so far. I live not far from GW's HQ in Nottingham. doukeshi03: If you like the Imperial Guard you should see the new stuff coming out. Heres an example of what I was talking about earlier from one of my armies:
Gohan Egret
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo Only the Adventure Arena. Thats about it. Though i do want too play RISK.
Risk has to be one of the best games I have ever played with my friends. Especially since we were allowed to play in 2nd period AP U.S. History and 7th World Religions (same teacher). I formed "Non-Agression Pacts" with my "teammates" to whomp on another player, then, when the time was right, POW! I now own my "teammates'" lands. :demon: I miss junior year of high school...:bawl: :P IIRC, you can play Risk Online, but you need to buy it. *Wanders off to the store to buy Risk*
Fall
I collect Warhammer40k. I have never actually played a game, though I have bought numerous packages. I currently collect Blood Angels, though I'm planning to start collecting a single Orcs army aswell. I love the game, mainly because you can paint the minitures. I've ended up painting the minitures I buy really good, so with them being made from metal and all, and when I line them up in an army, they look like a quality army, by a professional. tabmow
I used to have a risk based wargame called nuke. It was like risk ,but with ICBMs You could win a limited nuclear war but if you weren't carefull you could destroy the world. I also have played Axis and Allies and other similar games. When I was in Jr. HIgh and High school I used to have several hex grid based game based on several WWII battles and campaigns.I even at one time had a set of generalized rules to use with 1/72 scale soldiers so that groups from different time periods could fight each other. (e.g. a squad of Roman soldiers assaulting a German Panzer collumn) I have from time to time used these types of games in history classes I have taught. In a lot of ways table top games are superior to games on computers,
