Moor_Child
Ok, so my dad wanted me to ask any of you in the OB who bothered to read this, What happened to Aeon Flux? I don't know if anyone has even heard of it (but I'm sure someone has, at least one person). Well anyway, it's a pretty old show and hasn't been on TV for a while, I think. It was on really late at night on MTV, like years ago, maybe nine? I don't know, it was about some girl and that's all I remember. It's from the same people who made Reign. So if anyone remembers it and knows what happened to it, my Father and I would greatly appreciate some info. Thanks.
Zen
i have heard about it, but if it was made by the guys who did Reign, i could care less. I hated that show and made the anceint greeks look like they used too wear nothing but cups and a pair of shoulder pads.
Kent
I know aeon flux. Personally, I didnt really like it, but in that your problem may be resolved... Aeon was on mtv. I dont know about the rest of you guys, but to me, mtv represents a population of "kids" that I dont identify with at all. That said, it could be possible to assume that the people who regularly watch mtv are not the same people who are "otakus." With all that in mind, I would assume that aeon flux died off after only 1 or 2 seasons, as the people it was marketed to were not the kind to like a futuristic, sci-fi cartoon. Im sorry about that if your dad was looking forward to more eps or airings from aeon, but I dont think its gonna happen. Good luck.
Moor_Child
I totally agree with you Double B, but I was only doing this for my dad. I hate both Reign and Aeon. Thanks a ton, GoKents, that's all I was looking for.
embersky_gemini
I can't say exactly what happened to Aeon Flux, but I rented a 3 episode video I found at the video store. I really liked that. All the episodes were really creative and thought-provoking. The plot is really all there is to watch for though, seeing the animation style is kind of dumb. I tryed watching Reign but I couldn't stand it. I assume it will die out as did Aeon.
Guest Forbidden One
Aeon Flux basically got canceled on MTV, it wasn't pulling enough ratings at the time and just wasn't going to work out with the station. Personally I don't consider this guy's style of work anime, since he's actually not Japanese and none of his works both Aeon Flux and Reign are really anime they don't even orignate from Japan for starters. SadClown
^^ They aren't anime. In fact, the creator is Chinese. All I remember about that show was that it had bad animation and and the main charector died at the end of each episode or something like that. It was on the same show was that "Monster in my Head" show or whatever. Anyone remember that?
Zen
I remeber Bevis and Butthead. That was the show. But inever saw Aeon on MTV, but in Gemany, (i'm not german, i lived there, dad in army) they did show Golden Boy, Lupin the 3rd, and Escaflowne on MTV (note, they were un cut, so i was a fan of Golden Boy). The German public is really in sync with the Japanese. There really big Manga fans there as well.
