GinnyLyn
Auron. *listens to the collective groans* Not just 'cause he's hot, lol (especially his younger self), but for a deeper meaning. (spoiler alert ahead, so I'll just spoil the whole flipping lot)
I've always had a thing for tragic heroes and even the occasional tragic villian (Frog (ChronoTrigger), Sephiroth (FF7), Magus (ChronoTrigger), Auron (FFX), etc etc). Auron was a perfectionist and a rule player. He deeply loved his friends Braska and Jecht, and when he lost them, it was incredibly devestating for him. The flashbacks held a lot of soul searching on his part toward the end, especially focusing on regretting his final lack of action. Sure, the entire game, his is the mindset of vengance for his friends and attempting to keep his loss from ever happening again, but... Something struck deep within me at that scene when he says goodbye to Braska and Jecht for the last time. I too have had my regrets and losses (though not as bad, thank goodness), and I guess what it comes down to for me is
I can see myself in Auron. I identify with him. And he is the first FF character I've come across that I can say that about. As for games, I don't really have a favorite. Each one is special in its own way, but...*shrug*...I can play FFX for hours on end right now, but the same was true for me when the highest number FF I owned was iX. So no real favorites here, heh. Desbreko
For me, my favorite FF character is definitely Cecil from FFIV. Again, like Ginny, I can identify with him more than most other characters, which makes me like him a lot more than I would otherwise. (Also, I just like the classic, pre-PSX FF characters more for some reason. Sprites rule, heheh). ^_^ First off, he started out as a Dark Knight; a warrior of the darkness. Yet he realized what he was doing was wrong and turned away from it, even to the point of turning against his own country for what he knew to be right. And he later became a Paladin, a warrior of the light. This suits his nature much better; someone kind, and just, and forgiving, and so on. I went through kind of the same thing, though not to such an extreme degree. I was doing things I now know I shouldn't have been doing, but I finally realized they were wrong. And I stopped, and "defeated my old self" as Cecil does when he becomes a Paladin, only figuratively for me, heh. (For any Christians out there, I'm not talking about when I actually became a Christian, but more when I actually started taking it seriously). I've found this role, like Cecil's change, fits me a lot better. I've also had some experiences similar to Cecil's. While I've never
been betrayed by my best friend
, I have learned some things about myself and my friends and others that was kind of shocking. (For those of you that have played through the game, I'm relating that to the whole Golbez thing, and the Kain thing). Also, I found his personality to be pretty close to my own. That's another thing that helps me relate to him, and another reason why I just like him so much. As for my favorite FF game, I've actually been wavering on that one lately. I played through part of FFIV again not too long ago, and I found it was still quite a bit of fun. So it's either FFIV, or FFVI. I think I actually like them both about the same, with FFVII close behind.
Squall
Squall. FF 8 was the first FF I played And I instantly loved it. I like how he's quiet and not an has his wits about him.
GrimmFang
I like Cloud because like him I am trying to search for myself as well. I know Sephiroth isn't exactly a character but you do have him in your party for a short time. I don't know what it was about Sephiroth but he enchanted me or something the way he looks, acts, and his personality all hit with me.
Valen
Yeah, Sephiroth is a full character, just in the class of an NPC (Non-playable character). But like Tuskasa, I most identify with Squall in terms of rarely showing feelings, keeping a lot of people out, etc. Plus I like his gunblade. Hehe... For a close second, i'd have to say either Kuja(FF9) or Vivi(FF9 also). Those of you who have played FF9 know what these characters are like, and mind you... I don't have a purple thong. Just clearing that up...

Mei
Gah, hard one here, there are so many..but to name a few.. One of my favorites is, of course, Rinoa Heartilly.^^ I love her passion, attitude, and outlook on life. I also adore the story of love between Squall and Rinoa, it just fills my heart with...something warm and fuzzy.^^() I suppose I'm usually compaired to Yuna. Many have said I'm like her, minus the calm attitude. I supposedly give good advice, and I'm always trying to help people. Who knows, maybe I've got a summoner in me. Alright, that was only two, and it was very "in depth," but I'm not in the mood to share so much information right now.oo() So two of my favorite characters are Rinoa and Yuna, one for her spunky passion, and one for her kind heart and such.
Exodus
I would have to say it's FFVII's Cid. The salior-mouthed, spear-weilding guy you just can't beat. Sure, I really like Cecil (FFIV), Cloud ([Alot] FFVII) and Squall (FFVIII) but nothing's better than Cid's personality. Heck, he's even the pilot of the greatest ship ever: the Highwind. His Limit Breaks rock also. But, I chose Cid mostly because of his personality. (To bad he couldn't fly into space:()
Braidless Baka
Hmm... I have two here... Tidus (FFX) and Zell (FF8) Despite what you would first think... I'm no blonde. But... I dunno. They're both not quite the brightest bulb in the box, they're both passionate to the point of (perhaps) stupidity, and they're very firm about what it is they want out of a given situation - even if that something isn't going to be easy, or even possible, to achieve. I dunno... I guess it's just something I can identify with. I'm the bright, bubbly, not all there, persona in my group of friends. Most of my ideas are outlandish... and I often don't quite cotton on that they're not gonna happen. And I'm usually blindly passionate/protective/whatever else. terra
To quote Strong Bad: They're "like my childrens. I love them all!" Anyway... If I had to pick one or two, I'd probably go with Rydia from FFII/4. I always had a spot soft for her, because she was incredibly useful, pretty, and got to hang out with the monsters when they attacked everybody else. I also really liked Celes from FFIII/6, because she had that half-infused Esper, tool-of-the-enemy problem, but without the major emotional complex that Terra got from it. She was much more matter-of-fact about it than Terra, and took it like a woman -- no late-night whining for her ;) But I don't feel the emotional connection that some of the other repliers seem to have felt ... They're more just cool game characters to me.
VinceValentine
Ok, with my little FF knowledge, i am probably just going to sound like a retard but, I like Vincent Valentine (ff7) cos he is so gorgeous! I love the whole story about him and lucrecia etc etc.... And i love the way he is so mysterious and dark.... And i like Irvine (ff8)because he is also gorgeous and he is such a ladies man and i love the hair!! his hair is cute and his hat is cute except when it is on selphie..... L.C. 4 A.C. eleanor
:D I can't relate to him, but I love Cloud from FFVII. I like a lot of the characters in FFVII, even the minor ones [Zack!]. ^_^ I was interested in Cloud ever since I laid my eyes on him, and this scarred past (sort of...right?) is always a big, fat plus. O_o
Semjaza
I'd like Cloud to die. Not any way specific, just die. I'd also like Squall to die, although I have specific methods in mind. I hated that idiot. At least Cloud has some sort of meaningful side to him and a purpose for his existance. Celes was an awesome character in every respect. She had a great power, great backstory, great art... she was just a very well rounded character that I think actually worked well. Especially her scenes with Cid and that other guy (his name escapes me). She almost seemed like the focal point, ahead of Terra even. I'd go with her or Cecil. If FFXII turns out as amazingly as I'm expecting, I'll probably change my vote heh.
Hinata
Well lets see. Which character do I like the most. I think it'll have to be Yuna. She was basically a girl and yet the world weighed down on her, she had to be so responsible and had to do so much just to prove herself. She kinda reminds me of what Im going through. It hard being the one who people rely in and hae to depend on but yet it's good to have friends to rely on. FFX had tht story line going on with it. So I think I liked that Final Fantasy the most. Just the overall story line and character development got me into it period, but Yuna is my favorite by far!!
Spikey
I love the game Final Fantasy 7, basically because it has one of the greatest plots I have ever read/played. I think the character designs in it are amazing, though the graphics are not your good up to date use but they are still the best plot I've read/played. Probably the best character, Vincet. His character design is awesome, sometimes I kind of mistake him for D. XD. But I guess that is okay. Oh well. But yes I love his guns, and his character design.
Mist
I really identify with Wakka and Lulu from FFX. (I do the same with Tifa and Terra from other FF's, but I'm going with what people are more likely to know...) Wakka almost has this child-like love of life, and he rarely takes anything for granted. If there's a mistake he made, he'll never forget it. I think that's like me because I've always wanted to do crazy and cool stuff, and have trouble letting go of past events that might have hurt me. I always think of how things could have been different. I identify with Lulu because she's so out-spoken. She's never at a loss for words, and neither am I. Although, my ego could crush hers...
Haruko_Kagome
hmm...this is challenging(?!ive never used that word in a sentence!) i would have to go with Yuffie, Selphie, Vivi, and uh....i dont know who else. for Yuffie and Selphie, I guess its cause there spunky atitudes and such!>.< I like vivi since the first time i laid eyes on him! ive just been so intriged with black magic i just fell in love with him! as for my fav game...uh...all of them! i cant choose! each ff has their srong points!!
Break
Oooh.. tough one. ><' My favourite game would have to be FFV, because it was the first time (for me anyway) that I had encountered the job/class system, and I thought it was great. I just loved the way you could customise a character and make them learn different class moves that would make them more useful in battle. It's all good stuff there. ^_^ And my favourite character(s)? Cloud because, well.. come on, big swords, cool Limit Breaks.. he's just cool. And I also like Freya.. 'cause she's a Dragoon and that's my favourite class. ^^; Oh and one more, Auron! He's so mysterious, wise and cool - his swords are best though. ^_^;;
Guess?
My favorite final fantasy... its a tie between 5 and tactics. I really liked the job system. tactics advance is gonna be better then both because there will be more jobs( i've played it in japanese but since i cant read japanese it was kinda hard) My favorite character... Delta(fftactics). I like Delta because he
Ramzas best friend, betrays him then kills some of Ramzas family members, marrys Ramza's sister then kills her. Ultimate bad guy.
Guest pantalaimon
mines 7 and my favorite charac would vincent he is cool calm and collected i suppose 30 years in a coffin under a abandined mansion does that to a guy Not a major, major problem, but could you please improve your post quality a bit? The (Sic) Shape
My favorite FF character is at a tie with Vincent Valentine(FF7) and Shadow(FF6). They are both quiet and unemotional killers. Plus they dress cool. Vincent for his red cloak and black outfit and Shadow's all black ninja suit. I dont have a favorite FF game but my most favorite are FF5, FF6, FF7, and 10. Angelus
My fav ffcharacter would have to be Squall from FF8. I say that because at the time that the game came out I felt alot like Squall. I thought that he was a FF guy who was like me only just still alot cooler than I could hope to be. Lets not forget that Squall has a Gunblade. as far as a ff game that I prefer more than the others, I would have to go with FFT. What a great game, and if they dont make another than Square is going to be hearing from me.
