Gaming Animal Forest e+

I was just going through gamers.com. I was looking at the GameCube news, and I looked over at the Recent Gamecube releases, and I see something that says Animal Forest e+. I checked it out, and here's what it said:

"An expanded version of the original Animal Forest +/Animal Crossing. Its name comes from its support for new e-Reader cards, as well as Nintendo's upcoming SD Card adapter, with which players can trade game data, photographs of their village, and other bits of info.

The followup also includes many new events, items, animals, and other odds and ends to spice up your superdeformed avatar's virtual life."

It also says the release date is June 27th, 2003. Now, I'm assuming they're saying that's Japan's release date, because I had absolutely no idea that a new Animal Crossing would come out so soon. Does anyone have any idea about this game at all?

It's not really a [i]new[/i] game. It's basically the US version (which has enhancements over the Japanese one) with a few new additions. Nothing I'd get worked up over, and I doubt it will come out here.

It's selling quite well in Japan though.

Oh, that's bad news. I was getting really excited, and ready to start a new Animal Crossing townm, and meet some new villagers. I do have a question, though. Can they hook up this e+ one to just the regular Animal Forest +, and visit those villages, or would it be like hooking up Poke'mon gold and silver to blue, red, and yellow?

I am not really sure. There isn't tons of information about it around.

Here's the deal though. Our version of the e-Reader is the 2nd version in Japan. From what I understand the Japanese version didn't take full advantage of the e-Reader like the US version did because of that. The new version was released there a while back, but obviously if it's newer than the game... not much can be done.

From what I've been able to tell, they basically just made a Japanese version that takes the 2nd version e-Reader's capabilities in mind. The original version of the game only took the 1st version of the e-reader into consideration.

That sounds super confusing, but I don't know how better to explain it lol.

I'm also under the impression they are getting some new stuff in addition to ours, but I don't really know to what extent. So I'm sorry, but I can't really answer those questions heh.
