Online Yu-Gi-Oh Tourney

First of all, hello members of the otaku boards ^.-

Well i am trying to set up a Tourney to see how all the OB members fare against each other, the tourney will be fully supported if the Required amount of members are met.

The tournament will be conducted via the YVD software. YVD is program which allows players to duel online, it has all the data you will need to build a deck that would work in the english game.
The program is also rather small and does not require much processing power, all you need is an internet connection.

If there are 16 entrants, the tournament would be in the Swiss format. This is where everyone will face everyone, and the player who wins the most duels/matches will win the tournament. If there is 32 players or more, we shall do a Knocko Out tournament which will have a winner and a losers bracket.

The tournament will be conducted using the official rulings on the cards and seems as the tournament will hopefully begin on the 1st of september, we will probably be using the yet to be released restrictions.

If i get enough feedback on this, i will build a site with all the tournament rulings, player contact information and tourney match reports.

Downloads:
http://xerocreative.com/index.php?goto=yvd - Yu-Gi-Oh Virtual desktop
http://visionzero.net/tournyrules.pdf - the official rulings on all the cards.

Required:
If you are intrested, please leave your contact details in your posts.

Questions:
Just simply post them in this thread and i will do my best to help out.

It's an interesting idea, and certainly one I think many people would like to take part in, but the last time we tried it it sort of... didn't, partly due to lack of confirmation of details. I think it would be a nice thing to try and get going again, assuming we can get enough people participating. I know I'd take part, for one.

Welcome to OB, by the way ^_^. Be sure to read the rules (when they're back up), have fun, and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Well, i would most certinatly put full commitment behind it for the time it is up.

All that is needed is people, and the matches wouldn't all have to take place at the same time, so you wouldn;'t have to be commited on being on at a certain time.

Solo, if you are intrested in co-running this with me, simply PM me, and we will discuss things on there.

The thing about last time, is we should've run it with Apprentice. An easier program to input and upload the cards you need w/o relying on specific patches.

What happened to contact details? Well either way my email's in my profile ([email protected]). I've been playing YVD w/ a few of my friends but wouldn't mind a tourney, heh I'm too used to their tactics by now anyway. It doesn't look like 16 people have signed up, but 8 would be fine too. I've never heard of apprentice but YVD works fine I think, there're only 2 or 3 patches anyone might need and they're tiny and easy to install. The only problems might be w/ some card rulings (might want to post some official Konami ruling site or something to settle mid-game disputes) and if there's an error or something while dueling, should decide whether that should be a do-over or whoever had the most LP being the winner.

I've deleted a whole load of posts from this thread. Keep petty arguements in PMs if you really feel you have to rattle each other.

Personally, I've always found YVD much easier to use- Since Apprentice was made for Magic the Gathering, I find the controls and interface don't really lend themselves to Yu-Gi-Oh that well. Mind you, I never had a proper tutorial for it.

Unlike YVD, App isn't restricted to patches. While you guys have to wait 9 million years for some guy to create another patch, you can just input cards into App. And on top of that, if you still want an APp patch, its easy to find em.
They're on pojo.

Hm...I had some weird problem w/ YVD where I accidently deleted some stuff and I had to re-d/l the whole thing, and there was a PHG set in there...it's not very well translated though it doesn't seem like an official translation, but then I have no clue where it came from. All I d/l was the main program and the images, both off of xerocreative. Anywhoo I think 3 judges is a bit too much. Heh I doubt all 3 would be online every time someone has a question about ultimate offering ya know, but how many people have signed up so far? When is this thing supposed to kick off, December or something?

Yes, and you, of course, are the supreme master of all things Yu-Gi-Oh, and are the only decent player out of a community of hundreds.

So, where did Polyfuse go, anyway? He only has three posts, all on this thread. Is this thing going to happen?
