Cyber E.
Well, the schedules for September and EARLY October are in, so I figured I'd post them. DRAGON BALL New episodes premiere on Monday, September 1st at 6:30p.m. EST. DRAGON BALL Z Running into Garlic Jr./Trunks/Android sagas. Episodes that haven't been aired in a few years. DRAGON BALL GT Premieres on Friday, October 3rd at 6:30p.m. EST. Almost a year before previously stated. This is Fridays ONLY, folks. OTHER Begining Friday, September 5th @ 6:00 p.m. EST for four straight weeks we're getting four never-been-on-TV DBZ movies: 9/05: DBZ - Bardock: The Father of Goku 9/12: DBZ - History of Trunks 9/19: DBZ - Cooler's Revenge 9/26: DBZ - Return of Cooler This is all confirmed and true. Of course, schedules are tentive to change. -Cyber [EDIT: Just caught I mistook "September 5th" for "October 2nd". Sue me. @_@]

Anyway, I am tremendously looking forward to DBGT. Of course, I have heard it is "meh", but I will judge for myself. ;)
Originally posted by Cyber E. Unless it was copied and pasted...then it is a website error. Back on topic, it seems CN is coming hard with all the new DB/Z/GT all at once. More than likely because we have been watching the same stuff for a lloonngg time. *Sits in a puddle of excitement and sweat...eww...* :D
Sniglefager
They're finally gonna show DBGT, eh? I remember being so obsessed with trying to find those episodes a couple years ago before I had the internet. At least now I won't have to buy those crappy copies with bad tracking anymore. I'm also excited to see that they're airing some different DBZ movies, even though I've seen all of the ones mentioned except for Return of Cooler. I'm excited to finally see more DB stuff on CN. They are airing on Friday, October 3rd as Inflight Movies. :D -Cyber
Marron347
I would be overjoyed to hear that they were going to show the Garlc Jr., Trunks, and andriod sagas again and the new episodes of Dragon Ball, but I just got my cable cut off. And I've been waiting for so long:bawl: Anyway, I used to want to see DBGT, but someone told me that Akira Toriyama had almost nothing to do with the making of that series. Is that true? And if so, is the show even any good?
Cyber E.
UPDATE: At Otakon 2003, FUNimation announced GT will be airing with Episode 15, the same first episode on the GT DVDs. Why this is happening, I don't know.
Originally posted by Marron347 Anyway, I used to want to see DBGT, but someone told me that Akira Toriyama had almost nothing to do with the making of that series. Is that true? Toriyama ended his story with the last episode/issue of the show/manga, but the demend in Japan caused Toei to make a new series. It goes 50/50 with the fans, given it's pretty different than DB/Z. -Cyber
Marron347
I wonder why he let them continue the series like that.
JCBaggee
'bout time they started airing those DBZ movies. They've only been out for years...though I don't understand why they're skipping Movie 4 and going straight to 5... DBGT is kinda mixed reactions for me. I'm not surprised it got moved up, but its surprising their moving it up to this soon. Plus, a Friday's only schedule is a first for a Dragon Ball series on Toonami, so maybe they're trying to drag it out more and/or don't expect it to do so well.....? --Chris

Same with the Trunks and Bardock specials. Plus, the dub for Movie 4 is simply God-Awful. CN likely thought that the reruns of DBZ would be able to last people until GT was coming in Sept 04, but after they found out people don't care for a third run of episodes, they had to make some drastic changes. I don't believe FUNi has gotten very far in the dubbing, so showing it once a week is wise. That's just my personal opinion, of course. -Cyber

SephirothNIN
my friend just came over w/ his chinese DB GT tapes, and since I dunno any of that he translated for me while we watched. Assuming he didn't make it all up as a twisted joke I think it was pretty cool. There's definately going to be a lot of editing tho, as I doubt cartoon network is going to want to show little kid goku naked so much (from the back). Does anyone know if they plan on showing all 64 eps (not counting the ones they skipped grrr) this year? Doesn't really sound like it if they're only showing it on Friday, which sux, oh well. Cyber E.
FUNimation is doing the edits for GT, not Cartoon Network. So from what we've seen from edits they've made, GT will get several edits, but nothing really serious. They've showed Gokou's rear on Cartoon Network in some episodes of DB. FUNimation hasn't completed dubbing GT yet, so they are going to air the episodes on Fridays to keep new stuff coming, but at a slow pace. I'd expect they air around 16 episodes (Which'll last awhile) and then deliver the rest for next September. Possibly leaving a few for "Final Episodes". They also have to air the first 15 episodes, so it's hard to predict what their plans are. But, again, that's simply what I think. -Cyber
Guest Forbidden One
That seems like too much Dragon Ball for the normal anime fan to have during a week. I don't really mind DB and DBGT being on the line up since they are rather new to most fans who can't get their hands on the japanese versions. However its about time they let DBZ fade into the sunset there's not much worthwhile reairing a series that has been done to death. As for the movies thats a pretty good idea, though I wish they wouldn't call Bardock and Trunk's Story a movie, since its a tv special!
Bardock03
Oh boy, cant wait for GT...not! It's an alright series but I already have 6 videos of it in English. So, I'll have seen it all before they finish it.
Cyber E.
Well crap on a stick. Major update, GT will not be premiereing according to Animation Insider. CN seemed to change their schedule for no reason...anyway, here's what is still coming: DRAGON BALL New episodes premiere on Monday, September 1st at 6:30p.m. EST. DRAGON BALL Z Running into Garlic Jr./Trunks/Android sagas. Episodes that haven't been aired in a few years. DBZ leaves Toonami for an unknown amount of time after episode 112, "A Handy Trick" airs. OTHER Begining Friday, September 5th @ 6:00 p.m. EST for four straight weeks we're getting four never-been-on-TV DBZ movies: 9/05: DBZ - Bardock: The Father of Goku 9/12: DBZ - History of Trunks 9/19: DBZ - Cooler's Revenge 9/26: DBZ - Return of Cooler It's subject to change, as always. -Cyber
