After it's all Over

Let's face it. We all (well, most of us) have to grow up and eventually leave OB. It's sad, but true. What will you do after everyone is gone, and we don't talk at all? What happens after OB is a "old time" forum?

Do we all go down?

I'll probably still keep in contact with my closer friends here...and I already have a good correspondence going on with LostProphet, Flynn, Luci, and Alice....so yeah. And I plan to retire to Montana with LostProphet as my next door neighbor. In adittion, there will be an extended trip to Venice and Rome with Dragon Warrior, KnightOfTheRose, and um...whoever else there was. I think I forgot.

Then I'll probably check in sometime, just to see if the newbies are doing a good job of holding up the boards....and sigh nostalgically. *sighs nostalgically just at the thought of it*

....Who said we had to leave it? I'll just carry computer with me everywhere I go....[hehe]

But if I do move on, I don't think it'll be such a big deal for me. I could just get on with my life.

[off-topic] Logan, I am in love with your avatar and banner.[off-topic]

Edit: Thanx Raiha. I was wrong! ^^

I wouldn't leave. Unless everyone here left and the board was run my newbies. I would probably concentrate on my own forum and life. Improvements would be neccesary. ^^

No no, this is AFTER otakuboards. We're assuming that it's still alive, but we've gone our separate ways. I think Sara said something about not provoking eachother....as you just have.

I'd do what Rico said mostly.....but I might have to eventually show up again just to make people stop and stare in awe.

A lot has changed here. I often wish I could keep the quality of the board itself as it is now, but just with the kind of feeling the board had back then.

I would say that this board is relatively newer than it was back than, and it is just a whole different generation for this board as well. Sometimes I am just surprised that some of us older members are still around.

The age of this board just depends on who is looking at it, I suppose. When one generation fades away, a whole other generation will take its place and all memories can only go as far back as that group of people have been around. So really, this board can really only be as old as the oldest member that is present.

I try hard too think that will never happen and the mods will keep on upgrading the site. This is my favorite chat forum ever. But when the time does come i will probably just mve on to another chat site. My love for anime aint going nowhere.

Well, If I EVER out grow OB...I guess I would shrug and move on. I'm mean, I'd keep in contact with the people I've gotten to know; via AIM or E-mail or something..But other then that, I guess I'd rememeber everyone, even those who think lower of me, or yell at me for trying to prove points...you know..Same as if you were moving from the block you've lived on all your life, or changing schools. Just find a different "OB". Of course, nothing could ever replace the OtakuBoards we all know and love, today!

Well, it seems that when most of us hit college we sort of stray away for a while, but I just don't see that happening to me anytime soon until I'm married with kids. So yeah...sort of like good ol' Seph. And hey, he's still around.

I tend to cling to the older members because they seem to be slipping away. I realized that I don't know alot of these new members and that I have no idea what's going on anymore.

I'd like to say that I'd remain here forever, but I can already feel myself slowly pulling away from OB to do more things with my life.

After I end my OB days I'd like to keep in touch with those members I've gotten to know well,
Dragon Warrior (Gavyn)
Raiha (D'Ann)
Barra (Other Corey)
Juu (Juu)
Mist (Evelyn)
Mitch (Mitch)
However, it probbaly won't happen. Speaking realistically, OB is like highschool. Sooner or later you will leave and lose touch with a lot of your friends, no matter how good they are. There are those exceptions. I'd really like to keep in touch with Evelyn and Gavyn especially.

And Rai, the trip to Venice is still on... If it hasn't sunk by the time we get there.

I'd like to say I'd come here until the end of time, but that probably won't happen.

I'd do my best to stay in contact with people where I can, but there's no guarantee that I'd be able to. After all, I'm still not entirely sure what I'm going to be doing with myself. If I become an unemployed/self-emplyed whatever, I'll probably be here until Adam or James get sick of it and disappear, heh.

Assuming I do eventually drift off (which is more than likely), I'll probably do nothing much for a few years, except maybe try and print off everyt single thread that I liked and pin them to my wall, save them to a database or something like that.

If I get enough money, I think I'd try and catch up with people, too. ACtually in person as opposed to online. That's my ideal, anyway. And then I'd start a 'Remember OB?' website/TV programme/self-help group.

Heh. If OB were to ever fade away, I'd have a lot more time on my hands to stare at the walls in my room, lol. But seriously, I'd probably just do a lot more stuff than I do now, and actually buckle down on the novel I'm trying to write. Lord knows I procrastinate too much for my own good. lol I know I'd keep in touch with all the people I talk to now. Nothing could stop me from doing that, even if I had to send a letter. I care about them too much not to. But I know this won't happen for quite a while, so I'm not too pressed about it.

Hm, didn't we basically answer this in the "Life Without OtakuBoards" thread? O_o;;

Oh well, I'm already grown up and I still visit. It's one of the only things I come online for while the semester's out. In reality, I only purchased a computer so that I could complete my assignments without visiting the library where I would be forced to work under harsh time constraints. So, it's not like I have too much else to do on here.

Once my legendary run on OtakuBoards is finally over, I doubt I'll talk to any of you very often because I won't be online to do so. But, I mean, I can't imagine leaving for quite some time. And totally? Sheesh.
Well, If I EVER out grow OB...
Oh, you will. There's no "if" about it. lol

I'll still keep in touch with some OB members through phone calls, e-mail, and letters, but it's not like I'm going to miss my daily encounters with spammers or anything. The lack of moderaitng would open up a lot of time for me, and maybe I would use that time to improve my writing and artistic skills. I used to draw hindreds (literally hundreds) or comic books, but since I joined OB I have only made a few. This place is wonderful, but it can soak up a lot of time, heh.

There's going to come a time when we all (the older members) leave the boards, and personally I'd rather stick around after that happens. OB is a much different place than it was when I first joined, and I think it's going ot go thruogh a few major changes before I end up leaving someday. Depending on the future success of theOtaku (this is a really crucial moment for that right now) OB may have to shut down and disappear someday, but all good things must come to an end at some time. I'm sure James would have a nifty replacement forum ready by then anyways.

I really, really couldn't have expressed my thoughts any better. I get nostalgic when I think about the 'good ole days' lol. I wonder if Piro would remember a certain RP, I can't even recall the name, where two saiyans who didn't really get along(as I recall) teamed up to fight one of the greatest 'threats' ever to rock these boards--one that has now long been neutralized(darn that Ulitmia).

I remember all those goofy 'wars' everyone took so seriously--but that was all theotaku.com/boards; not OtakuBoards.com. We've long grown past that. I think it's the spirit of that that drves me to nostalgia; but not the actual boards themselves--looking back, they stunk in comparison to their modern quality.

It baffles me who all is still hangin' around. Now that certain people are beginning to leave(or have left), I'm beginning to realize just how long I've been here. That would be a whiiiile, lol.

But I can say, unless I lose my Internet connection, OB probably won't be rid of me for a while.

Heh... What WOULD I do..? o_O Well, friend-wise, I'd try to keep in close friendship with my good OB friends that have AIM (KKC, Syk, Charles, and Japan_86 to name a few). Talk with them about various things. ^_^' Oh and then I would also have the actual free time to have a fragment of a life.. >_< No offense, I mean that I spend all my free time posting on here, not that OB is a useless tool that takes up all my free time. By then I'll probably at least be engaged and not have AS much time for the internet or, I hate to admit it, anime. *sobs* Then I'll come back once in a while, and see how the "second wave" of otaku are handling the place. (Of course, KKC will probably still be there ranting on about Crim. :p) Then I can start a pointless thread deleted by the new mod/Syk and Mei's kid about "The good old days of OtakuBoards"..

But that won't be for a decent while. ~_^ I'm staying here for at least another 10 years. (Or about that.. Who knows?)

I dunno, I'll probably still be here but. XD. If not I wuld probably just make or fix computers for a life, and then go meat people from OB. In about 10 more years that might happen. XD.

Anyway, I would probably just keep in touch with my friends, and probably post to all these topics, and nobody will be here. XD.

I believe that was the first RPG I ever joined. A Dragon Ball RPG, of course. I think it was just called Ulitmia's Revenge or something along those lines... Maybe... I know it had his name in it.

I do not plan on leaving OtakuBoards for a while, though there could be some chance happening that could change that. In which case I would go on fulfilling that of which was my reason for leaving here. If this place were to shut down, then I would just have to develope a strong social life pretty quick, heh.

I'd have a spare hour or two on my hands to do more stuff, like riding my bike and skateboarding, or just watching television. I'm not up to worrying about what will happen to OtakuBoards in the future, whether it be one hundred years from now, or next year, I'm here now, and I know I will be while my interest lasts in this forum. I'll grow out of OtakuBoards, probably before the site shuts down or dies, but while I'm here, I'm going to make the time I spend on-line worthwile. If OtakuBoards shut down while I was still an active member, wouldn't really upset me. I'd probably have something less to do on-line, though I have many other things I can do, which I make way for to surf OtakuBoards.
