Well, I for one, believe in it. Tsukasa is a very troubled child in real life, and he mentions in the first episode that he is glad that he doesn't have to "go back to that ludicrous world." From that, I believe that means he spends a ton of time on the game. Plus a lot of sites show .hack timelines.. And it says that Tsukasa first began to play The World about 2 years before .hack//SIGN.. (Or something near that) If he plays the game in all of his free time, dungeon crawling (he is not the type to socialize more than dungeon crawl, it seems) he is bound to level up quite a bit... So that's why I believe that he is about level 99..

But that's just my thought. -_-

Well, I am not sure about him being a Lvl. 99, but he must be a high level fighter. If you can recall the first episode you will remember that he was alone at the end of the dungeon, which Mimiru hints at being very difficult for a Wavemaster. The one factor that makes determining his level hard is the fact that they never really say how long there is between the begining and ending episodes. If there was a lot of time he may have leveled up many times.

Ok i havent seen the series or anything but from what ive heard didnt the series happen before the games? And if so then tsukasa couldnt have been level 99 because in infection orca and balmung are "the most powerful characters in the world" and orca is olny level 50 so thats my speculation.

I wouldn't say that Orca and Balmung are the most powerful, they are just very well known because they beat an event that no one else who tried could. Plus you also have to remember that Tsukasa was a loner when he played, and that nobody would've been able to know how strong he was.

He hiting people with a big Heavy stick might work! Just Bap bap bap!!!! *drinks more coffee*
Well, I think the only way Tsukasa can be strong is if his Gardian pops in and helps him, but it was killed so.... T_T Poor Barbel...

I thought that kinda wierd how the two gaurdians kinda melded together before they died. And, I don't think that Tsukasa is level 99, it would be impossible to get that strong by yourself. I was just saying that it could be possible he could be very powerful.

Hm.. Crim hinted at Sora and himself being level 99 with the top items in episode 25.. So, if you want to look at it with that information in mind, they're really close to 99.. And Tsukasa was using a ton of magic in there.. He's probably at a very high level as well.

I don't think Tsukasa's level could be that high...he doesn't fight! And I certainly have enough experience on the games with trying to level up Wavemasters...X_X painful...

But since he doesn't fight very much, we can't really tell how strong he is, so that would just be my opinion.

Did Tsukasa get experience when his guardian defeated something?

Well actuall the games and the series happen simultaneously with each other because in mutation you can re enter Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground and witness cut scenes from the show. I also think that Tsukasa is lvl 99 because if somebody were level 99 then they would not need to fight anymore, which is why I think tsukasa always ports away from fights, and even a wavemaster at level 99 would have a very strong physical atttack.

This is still going on?! Ok, i might get in trouble for this, but get it threw your heads! Tsukasa is not Level 99!!! And the only reason he runs from fights is because he's a week little wavemaster. The only time he doesn't run is if he has his gardian. If you saw episode 25, Tsukasa finally uses magic!! Wow, he can heal!! Woopdy Friggin Doo!! When he was about to use his healing, you see a tear roll down his face and he says "This can't be happening" He couldn't believe that he could use magic. Face it, Tsukasa is not on Lv. 99, and even if he was... it wouldn't matter, im refering to what Crim said is his 3rd and final fight against Sora.

You would all now why you never see Tsukasa fight if you played the game.. Wavemasters ARE WEAK! they are usless... why would Mimiru of said to Tsukasa in episode 1 "WOW I hardly ever see a wavemaster working alone"

Take that back Wavemasters aren't weak. look at Elk in the games. given the right staff he can hit you with one spell and do about 560 damage!never say that wavemasters are weak because when playing the games I come across monsters that have high hitpoints and elk casts a spell and the thingy slumps over and I walk away.

I do not think that Tsukasa reaches Level 99. He does not fight much but I think in episode 25, he uses his magic to heal Mimiru, Bear, etc. But I have not saw that he fights that much at all. But I am kinda new to .hack// SIGN.

you are right, Tsukasa does use his powers in episode 25 (Also the episode when
CRIM WHOOPS SORA'S BUTT!
) But.. he seemed very shocked that he was able to. He said that it couldn't be happening. Well, the last episode is next week, so im sure we'll be able to find out for sure.
WOW I hardly ever see a wavemaster working alone"
And that, my friends, is the source of this tired rumor - a simple phrase that has been taken out of proportion: "Wow, you must be really strong! Are you?!" There's your lvl 99 Tsukasa. However, after going through 25 episodes, I think we have all figured out that Tsukasa did not go through that dungeon alone... -_-

I've seen almost every "Tsukasa is lvl 99" supporter post an episode 25 spoiler, but lo-and-behold, the public has now seen the truth with their own eyes. So, where's the support? There was not anything in this episode that justified your argument, so why was this chapter so crucial to your claim? In the end, it just seems picked a random episode that won't be seen for a while (but not the last episode, because that would be a dead giveaway) and came up with a random fact.

Yeah, sorry about the rude post, but I just find this rumor hard to swallow now that episode 25 aired and nothing happened. If the source the rumor is bogus, how reliable is the rumor itself?
he uses his magic to heal...
I'm not too sure about that. I wanna see that A-20 episode before I make any conclusions (which episode was that?). What's to say Tsukasa wasn't using healing items instead of magic? He didn't even use his staff. :o I don't remember how Mimiru and A-20 heal each other with items, so hopefully that will answer whether Tsukasa was using magic or consummable supplies.

But here is something you all probaaly never even thought about, Tsukasa is stuck in the game, so how would he be able to do magic. Its not like he knows how to project his body energy, which is why he is so surprised when he finally does. I cannot believe you all overlooked this one major fact. This changes it all now doesn't it. hmmmm.......
