Anyone else sick of watching the "California Circus?"

I am SO extremely sick of watching "And going on in California..." and anything related to the recall. I mean it's so nice to know there's very little, other than a heat wave, going on in the Middle East, no one got shot, raped, murdered, or kidnapped lately. Does anyone else think they should ease up on the coverage?

I get kinda tired of it, too, but you have to realize that it's big news and every single major TV channel will show coverage of this ad nauseum. It's just the way things work nowadays.

Big news nothing. And a child missing, and people getting killed aren't? I agree there's luckily not enough going on in the Mid East to attract much news, but maybe it's because all air time is taken up by *ding* the California recall. Wow. Maybe I'm being too... cynical isn't the right word, but gives the right impression.

i Agree Shinamru. I personally think that we should pay more attention to the stuff going in Iraq and Middle East. Not the Stupid Recall.

Well, it'll be big news as long as people decide to make it big news. The majority of people in America, unfortunate as it may seem, aren't interested in missing people. They're interested in stuff like the Kobe Bryant case, the California recall, and things like that.

You could always just change the channel lol. I've not seen all that much of it, because I find other things to watch. Novel concept.

People like celebreties, that's all it amounts too. It's not as if a short special on the California recall would really stop the news from doing the short "four people were killed today" or whatever else blurbs they normally do. The news never spends much time on that sort of stuff anymore unless it involves a huge lawsuit or involves a dozen people. Most dead people are lucky to get a 10 second blurb on the news at all, and that's on a slow news day.

It's hardly replaced the standard news as much as is being claimed in here.

I think that's why there're age limits... Besides, aren't we stereotyping Schwarzenegger? I mean, I'm not too thrilled he's running... anyways. Off topic. It's not a question of being forced to watch the California recall, it's the fact that it's on the news nearly 24/7, and not much else is. (Okay, exaggeration, still Kobe's not that much fun to watch either ^-^)

This is a huge issue in California right now, Gray Davis is the first governer of California to be put in the recall position, ever. It's important to keep up with it I think, seeing as how it's a first for this state. History repeats itself; just because it doesn't affect your state doesn't mean that it won't happen when you're actually old enough to vote. [/color]

I think a lot of you are seriously apathetic and misinformed about this issue, you're probably spouting off your ideas as regurgitated bits of what you've heard your parents say. Maybe you should actually look [i]into[/i] what the people running for governer have to say about what they support.

Ronald Reagan was a famous actor before he became a president. Who says Arnold doesn't have good ideas, too? California may be eccentric [well, yes, it definitely is] but it's also creating its own history right now. I would advise you to all investigate this issue before going off on something you don't really know anything about ^_^;[/color]
