duelist22
I must vent my rage at Hilary. Why the singing!? It boggles the mind! She can sing, but she's a MUCH better actor. Publicity goes to the head, i guess.......
Guest dayday
There are actually people out there like me. I don't believe it. I hate Hilary. I used to watch the show a little if I was bored but when I heard the songs UGH! They're horrible. I don't even like that type of music unless it has something specific I like to hear in the lyrics. But it's just a stupid and pathetic attempt for *can't remember word* and more money. The show the only thing I like about that was really....uhh...I won't say that but anyway that's it. It's stupid to me and the ones with Kate are so pathetic. Why would you hate someone, smile when you saw them, and then blow them off just because she's not a cheerleader. That's so *forgets word again* Sorry, I just woke up so I'm not really into anything yet.
Hyper
I prefer Hilary as an actress rather than a singer. I don't care much for her music, but The Lizzie Maguire Movie wasn't that bad. I'm a little frustrated with Disney trying to find a new actress/pop-star to take her place (hence the Circle of Stars). Why act and sing? People like to try something different. I actually thought Adrian Bailon from 3LW did a good job in the Cheetah Girls. (Don't ask why I was watching that) Pop music varies on the artist. I mean nobody listens to that Aaron Carter wannabe that just released his album. What kind of person sings about love at 14-16? This new-age true love stuff is the pop genre . And that's what I generally avoid. Which is also why I'm not jumping for joy when Disney shows Hilary's video. I prefer something better crafted in pop music. Jubei Yagyou
Originally posted by James Yet, I feel reluctant to say that because there is this negative connotation that goes along with the word "pop". And there shouldn't be. Pop simply means "popular". It's not a derogatory term by any means.
I think she meant, "Bubblegum pop" as in spice girls, backstreet boys, Nsync, heck it even goes back to the monkees. So I think thats cleared up now.
eleanor
I like the Backstreet Boys. The lyrics and music in the Millenium soundtrack are chessy, but I still like listening to it when I'm drawing. I guess when an oddball out sees people following the trend, they don't think about whether the people really like the music. Like I said...I listen to BSB but I don't like Avril Lavrigne or Good Charlotte and the new 'hit songs' that are coming out. I prefer listening to BSB than GC, seriously. ...Actually, my like for BSB is odd because I didn't like N'Sync or Britney Spears who sang in the same genre of music and were popular. Call me a moron or a prep, but I really do like the Backstreet Boys. ::shrugs:: I don't like Hillary Duff, so I choose to ignore her. I don't watch her show or listen to her music, so it's all good. I don't watch the Disney Channel in the first place...only Even Stevens. Louis can pull off very funny faces. The cheesiness of it attracts me. :P I bet if you guys were a super-popular actor and sang...ok...you'd like it to.
Chichiri's Girl
I've seen 2 or 3 of the Lizzie Maguire episodes eaither because I was at a friend's house and I din't want to be rude or because I wanted to see what all the hub-bub was about. Let's just say I haven'y watched it since. i mean she is not a BAD actor but she sure isn't the greatest in the history of the world. And now that she is singing?!? Lets just say I change the channle so fast you can't here the next note. I mean I agree with sonic about the a song-by-song basis but not casting Hailry in a live action Sailor Moon movie. I think that would be the collapse of the Anime world *shudders*... Anyhoo back to the topic. Is she really going to quit with disney because they won't pay her enough?!?! Talk about greedy... Semjaza
I don't blame her honestly. I think at some point you are entitled to a certain percentage. The show is obviously popular thanks to her and little else. Her merchandise flies off the shelves, her show is insanely popular, people of all ages know who she is. I don't blame her for expecting more, especially because anyone intelligent would know that any other network would jump at the chance to sign her to a show. Stuff happens all the time anyway. It's not as if no other actor or even voice actor has never done this. Most do.
Drix D'Zanth
"Most do" is a sentance fragment! :demon: *cue evil laughter* Now I'm being picky. Oh well, it's for posterity sake then.
Manic Webb
Well, considering there's a live-action Sailormoon super-sentai in production in Japan, I figure it's only a matter of time before somebody like ABC (who are currently in charge of Power Rangers) re-make the show using an all-American (or all-Aussie, as has been the case lately) cast. If that should ever happen, I think Hilary Duff would make a decent Usagi/Serena. She already has a lot of experience playing a kind-hearted goof who can't walk to her next class without tripping over her own two feet. I'm not saying it's a good thing. I'm just saying "what if."
