Gohan Egret
Nas, Jay-Z, R. Kelly (well, now he is...), Nelly, Talib Kwali, 50 Cent, 2Pac, Biggie, Busta Rhymes, Chingy, Youngbloodz, Lil' Jon, Ying Yang Twins, etc...... ...as you can see, I truly enjoy rap. I often see that people have a large misconception that rap is only about "cars, money, and girls." Rather, for specific rappers (2Pac, Nas, Biggie) they speak of their past, their problems, and the chaos they have had to live through. It is a lyrical autobiography of sorts. And then of course there are the beats. That is what draws me to a rap song - beats, rhythm, feeling, etc. If it pounds and makes go "YYEEAHH!" then I will probably get it. Favorite songs include (but not limited to): Nas - Ether Youngbloodz - Damn! Juvenile - Set it Off Cam'ron - Oh Boy Clipse - Grindin' Jada Kiss - We Gonna Make It Kanye West - Through the Wire Notorious B.I.G. f. Eminem - Dead Wrong (Remix) :D
Semjaza
I don't generally listen to this genre of music. By "rap", I'll just assume you mean all the other styles related to it, because honestly, I don't know the difference in general heh. I do like The Roots, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Akrobatic and N.E.R.D.. That's about all that comes to mind. I tend to not like these horrible rap/rock combos though, unless they actually do a good job at it. Cibo Matto has hip hop elements though, and they're cool. Same with Faith No More. Manic Webb
I used to be a really big fan of rap, but lately it's been lacking in... what's the word? Quality! Some hip-hop acts today are just horrible, in my opinion. The whole thing with southern rappers saying "err" instead of "eer" in their songs was fine and dandy the first couple of times, but I'm getting sick and tired of southern rappers' entire career depending on how much they say "right therr" in one song. And no, I don't like Chingy. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Missy Elliott CD to listen to...
IloveBebop
I listen to a lot of music like rock, rap, jazz, and even sometimes country. Anyway, I love rap! My favorite rapper is Eminem, he rules rap!
Guest Fiasco
Well, I like rap. Artists like Ludacris, Nelly, Nas, Tupac, Bone Crusher, 50 Cent. Not Eminem. Ludacris is my favorite, and he always will be, because to me, his lyrics are really funny. But it's interesting, I like rap, yet, I like lots of other music COMPLETELY different to rap, like ska and hardcore stuff. [real hardcore] I just found it weird. Japan
I like to rap along with Eminem and Linkin Park Songs sometimes. I love to rap and I am pretty good at it too.
Celia
I used to be a really big fan of rap and hip hop. But after The 'Z' died out, I got less and less interested in it. Now, that radio station belongs to the 'Drive'. I like rap, as long as it's not 'gangsta' rap. I can't stand all the yelling and cuzing. Eminem, P. Diddy, and 50 cent are on my "Top Three List."

Corey
Originally posted by Sharpie I stand firmly by my "you can't spell crap without rap" solgan. I hate rap.
None the less Manic, that was damn funny. Raps not really my thing. If I do listen to it, I listen to the underground stuff. Most mainstream rap simply is monotonous. **** her. Kill that. Snort this. Smoke that. Shoot him. Rape her. It's not what I like in my music. And I know I'm going to get yelled at by someone for this, so I'm just going to let it be and not visit this little topic anymore.
Guest Magdalena
Some people know how to rap. Unfortuately, more often than not, they arent' mainstream.
Manic Webb
When you get right down to it, every genre of music is pretty redundant. Whether it be materalistic thugged-out rappers who talk about their money and sex life, or quasi-punk pop-rockers who take one failed relationship and turn it into an album of concentrated teen angst. The question is: Out of every genre of music (not just the 2 examples above), which message do you want to hear over and over in slightly varying styles? Fans of mainstream rap prefer to listen to rich people talk about how much money they have. You prefer to listen to... whatever message is constantly regurgitated through your favorite genre of music. Whatever genre that may be.

Fall
I like a few rap bands, not all their songs... and being honest, I absolutey hate rap if you compare it to my love of rock music. I'd choose to listen to, even considered "****" rock bands, it I had a choice between them and a rapper/group. I like Sean Paul, 50 Cent, and Eminem, though I wouldn't listen to them as a choice of music.
