First, NEVER USE A GAMESHARK. It will always freeze up.

if you cant beat her, level up.

To prepare for this battle, stock up on Aura spells, but you can only do that during the battle with Seifer at the end of disk 3.

You should also get the Eden GF before fighting her. Its at the Underwater Research center, an uncharted island near the upper right corner of the world. You sould've gotten it in disk three but you can still get it if you find the ragnarok in disk 4. If you havent been in the Underwater Research Center you will also get Bahumat.

You also shouldve gotten at least Squall's ultimate weapon the Lionheart.

Also, stock up on Pulse Ammo for Irvine which can only be done in disk three or 4 if you have the right GF (I forgot becuase I havent played FF8 in awhile but I still remember all this).

Last thing, the remaining party member should be equipped with Eden.

OK, the battle:

You need to have a party of Squall, Irvine, and the another party member equipped with Eden. If neither of them appear then kill a party member and the dead party member will disappear after a few turns and another party member, hopefully Squall or Irvine, will take the dead party member's place.

When Squall and Irvine appear cast Aura on them so they can do their limit breaks even at full health. Keep skipping their turns until they can do their limit breaks. Hopefully Squall will use his Lionheart limit break and just keep using Irvine's pulse ammo that cause 9999 each time. The other party member should just keep casting Eden.

Once the Aura wears off cast it again. If a party member dies quickly revive him/her before she disappears and heal when needed.

Repeat this until she dies.

Hope this helps. It better help!

So exactly which form if Ultemecia are you stuck on?

actually you can get auras very easily. You'll need the ragnarok though. Not sure if u you have soooo what you have to do is enter the middle teleporting mirror (on the left side big chain from the orphanage to ultimecia's castle). The middle one will take you to the island Odin's on, I forget which direction...to the east I think, but around a mountain is a chocobo forest. Catch a choco and then ride it south through some shallow water until you get to the southern continent. The ragnarok is just parked in the desert there. Ok now there are 2 hidden...ok well they're not hidden, but they're islands. The island closest to hell is the island furthest to the west. land on it (check the menu to make sure it says it's closest to hell). Enemies on this island are tough if u're not strong enough, they're always level 100. You can level up here but I'm trying to tell ya how to get good spells. Slap on diablo's encounter-none ability, and then just walk around hitting the select button (X or circle, or whatever you set it to) and you'll find lots of hidden draw points. All the best spells can be found here, ultima, tornado, aura, triple, curaga, full-life, meteor....and...flare. The catch is you can only draw between 1-5 per draw. So walk around getting every spell. Then head over to the island closest to heaven. This one's a little trickier to find. Go all the way north, and then to the east, there are a few islands there just land on em all and open the menu til you find the one closest to heaven. This island is smaller and there aren't as many draw points, but u need to let the ones on the Hell island recharge. Anyway the point of all this is because junctioning ultima to any stat (except speed or evade) increases it more than any other spell. So if you get 100x ultima on your main team (on magic or strength preferrably) you'll be a LOT stronger. I'd suggest Squall, Zell, and Irvine as your team. If you're fast zell's duel can do more damage than a lionheart. Btw since u use gameshark I guess u don't mind cheating, so a cheapy way to get lots of hits w/ duel is to hit pause right as the command list pops up. Then unpause and do the motion quickly. Pulse ammo sux too, AP ammo is just as strong and faster too. Quistis might be a better person to take in the beginning of the fight. That way you can cast mighty guard, when you fight the last form of ultimecia ur party is randomly chosen anyway.

Actually what I did was I stocked up on auras just like eveyone else and basically leveled up the three characters I wanted to use (Squall, Zell and Quistis) up to 99 but u don't have to do that instead u junction utlima to all three of your characters healths to least 8000 to 9000 trust me if you go to the Island of heaven or hell it won't take long. Finally when get ultimecia i bascially let my other characters die until i got the three i wanted. After I beat form one of ultimecia and fought griever quistis died, but instead of reviving I had Zell cure everyone and use aura on Squall. Basically after that I just did Squall's limit break cause the Lionheart limit and pounded the crap out of griever. i used this strategy for the last two forms and that was it. Not too complicated I hope.

Yeah that's what I do too, it's just stupid to try to spread out all your magic and GFs over every character. Anyway you shouldn't waste Ultima on HP, 100x regen or curaga will boost it high enough, and if your level is in the 90+ it'll easily hit 9999. Ultima is best junctioned to strength or magic. If Griever's still killing you try summoning Cerberus and triple-casting shell on everyone (if you're not using quistis and her mighty guard). When you get Griever down to really low HP (the sky starts changing color) make sure you're fully healed and have shell on everyone because that's when he'll cast Shockwave Pulsar, which should do a crapload of damage (but if u have shell only 4000 or so).

You can have Quistis learn shockwave pulsar btw by getting 100 sharp spikes (from tri-face cards or from fighting them in the deep sea research facility) and using tool-refine (Siren has to be lv100 though). I used SWP on the last Ultimecia and it did a good 30,000 damage, but that's still pathetic compared to other people's limit breaks. Looks cool though.

Just junction Ultima to Elm-Def for your characters, 100Quake to the Str stat, 100Tornado to Spd, and the reccomended moveset:

Squall Atk: 255 (210 at least)
Attack/Mug-> Lionheart (it'll be over before it even begins)
GF
Draw
Magic -> Meltdown/Aura/Triple

Zell Atk: 190 (at least 150)
Attack ->Auto-Duel
GF
Draw
Magic -> Revival/Curative/Aura/Doube-Triple

Rinoa Atk: 210 Mag: 255 (or as close as you can get it)
Attack -> Angel Wing (Keep the 'Ultima' spell only. Give all her other magic to everyone else. Use only when needed/full confidence in Rinoa, for she will use Ultima every turn. Caste haste on her.)
Revive (Fully revives party member)
GF
Item -> Phoenix Pinion is a must if you have low confidence in this battle. Hero's Drink, just in case.

Just cast Meltdown on Ultimecia, then Triple on Zell, then cast Aura, then Renzokuken. If your luck is high enough, you'll get LionHeart, deal 190,000 damage respectively, and almost destroy her completely.

Keep doing this with Rinoa in Angel Wing casting Ultima while Zell continuously uses the Curative magic. Ultimecia should go down in about twenty minutes.

If you're going to have one person curing nonstop you should make it Rinoa, since her ultima will do 9999 max, but w/ Zell's duel you can get in waaaaay more, over 100,000 if you're fast. And I'd say the last form has around 500,000 HP since it took 2 lionhearts and more before she lost. Triple and then cast regen on everyone in case you can't cure in time after her hell's judgement move that reduces everyone to 1hp.

Just take the lazy person's way out: The End.

Selphie's a great character, don't underestimate her just because she's hyper.

Anyway, the best way to beat Ulti, I find is the Aura-Lionheart strategy. That's just me anyway, if I can't get Lionheart, then Pulse Ammo or Wishing Star or even Shockwave Pulsar could do in Ulti.

Whoever your healer is, Junction GF Leviathan to them so they can use his Recover ability, which completly restores HP.

During the Final Stage of the battle,
be sure to draw the spell from Ultimecia's lower half. This is the 'Apocalypse' spell she uses against you, and makes the last part of the battle go considerably fast
.

And before the battle, make sure you've gone to The Island Closest To Hell/Heaven to get the best spells in the game.

Heh, I used a GameShark once, using the Debug mode. It never really froze up on me.

Then, in the last fight with Ultemercia, some thing very interesting happened. I found that I could use Seifer and Edea in the final fight, for some odd reason.

I know this was off topic, but I just wanted to mention it.:D

If you want to half the power of Shockwave Pulsar, then you cast Protect. Shell halves the power of magic attacks, not physical, SWP is counted as a physical.

Wrong. Quistis learns SWP by obtaining 100 Curse Spikes, obtainable from Marlboros on the Island Closest to Heaven. You then refine those 100 Curse Spikes into 1 Dark Matter, which allows Quistis to learn SWP.

Perhaps the reason behind that is because you used a Gameshark. Most people prefer "Once Playable" characters, such as Laguna, or in FF7's instance, Sephiroth. They find them powerful. I, on the other hand, have never resorted to cheating, if people say I'm cheating, they'd be wrong, as Gameshark has never been nor will ever be in my possession. I don't believe in cheating, to me, it is known as the "Lazy Way Out". Usually, it involves Selphie and The End. (The End works on ALL monsters and bosses, including Ultimecia.)
