Does your school wear uniforms?

For a few years now my school district has been trying to decide if they should make us wear uniforms or not. Many of my friends don't want to and hate the idea. I don't really think it's that bad of an idea. I think some of the uniforms are kinda nice, and it make decideing what to wear in the morning a whole a lot easier.

So, if your school makes you wear uniforms I was wondering if you liked it or not, and what they looked like.

My school doesn't wear uniforms, but my step-brothers old school did. Now, since he's 5, he probably didn't really care, but when I visited there, I asked the 6th graders, and they didn't like it at all. My step-mom siad it was a pain trying to find the right clothes all the time. Other than that I don't know anything.

The school board will probably decide what the majority of the parents of the PTA would want, and seeing as they are parents, they're probably going to go with it. I've had to wear uniforms for as long as I can remember, and they all weren't that bad-- except this year. Green and kahki... yuck... But at least it's not as bad as last year. White and kahki... wasn't bad when it rained though. ;)

Ne, my new school doesn't have uniforms, but my old one did. It was okay I guess. Lesse...Tops were white, blue, or maroon. Pants/Shorts/Skirts were blue, khaki, or maroon. :) And on Fridays we could wear our school shirts. But those weren't to cool...*goes back to watching FLCL*

Ya, my school let us wear uniforms, and people don't like it. _-_
But its okay for me bcuz u dont have to get problems on what to wear for the next day of school.
We wear white shirt with collar, navy blue slacks (also for girls) or skirts, and you may wear jackets or sweaters that are also navy blue.
Also can wear belts. No jewelries just fancy ones. No sandals. Boys shouldn't wear their P.E. shirts under their white shirts. Girls must wear white undershirts under their white shirts. Shoes can be any kind but no sandals.
Yeah, well that's it. Last time we can wear black pants and jackets, but they banned it because they thought Black are gangster colors.

in middle school i had to wear uniforms, green/white top, khaki/black bottom. i never wore it unless i was going on a field trip and you didn't have to wear the uniform itself, just the colors. in my first year of high school administration tried to make us wear uniform (teal and black, blech) but no one did, and i mean NO ONE so they just stopped trying. the dress code is pretty strict though, we can't even wear ankle length pants >_>

We do, and it's so stupid. It's like a commercial business-place. Every kid has to have their shirts tucked in, ties on in winter, broad-brimmed hats on in summer if you want to go out in the sun...

We have two uniforms. A sports one, with yellow t-shirt and blue tracksuit-pants, boys and girls. The school one, blue button-up shirt, and grey trousers for boys, same shirt with a checkered skirt for girls.. black shoes for us all if we're wearing the school uniform, they even have to be the right brand, aswell as the shirts and trousers/shorts.

It's so stupid. I hate it all over the place. My old highschool did have a uniform, bu no-one wore the full uniform, something different, but no-one cared, so no-onegot in trouble for it.

There' s also a new fad now, where the boys haveto wear big, white shirts underneath their shirts, mostly the sports t-shirts (everyone usually wears that everyday), or big, pale-coloured shirts underneath. So they hang out the bottom of the shirt and out the sleeves. And if you ask me, it makes us look a heap more better, I hate the "good" look.

Absolutely hate the uniform and everything that goes with it, forever.

At my school we wear uniforms but only the shirts/jumpers what we wear for shorts/pants we have a free choice, i like this because you have a bit of free dress but everyone is still basically the same so you dont need to worry about being different and not worrying about fashion to much

I never really found a school uniform annoying to have to wear. Our's is a wine colored wool jumper, plain blue shirt, wine colored tie, grey trousers and dark colored shoes.

The only time I ever hated the uniform was when we had to wear it during the summer and it was boiling hot, however our student council got us the right to wear our shirts only if it got too hot.

I think school uniforms are a bit of a mixed blessing, sometimes they'll annoy the hell outta you if you've got a strict teacher who wants military style neatness and then again it saves you the trouble of having to decide what to wear every day so I'm not really for or against them.

Well in our school we wear uniforms, I'm in 10th and I must say that I don't dislike wearing an uniform. We have polos, sweaters, pants, bermudas(for summer), gym uniform and black shoes. I know that the first time you see that you'll wear an uniform you're gonna freak out but with time you'll won't argue on it and if you're a lazy boy like me and when you wake up in the morning half-awake, it's easier to know already what you'll wear than looking and searching what you'll wear that morning...

EDIT: Oh and our uniform color is marine blue

I've been wearing uniforms my whole life. My old school was navy blue with white t-shirts. The school i go to now is Khaki with white or blue blouses. We're only allowed to wear tennis shoes in the hot months August, September and May. Our skirts are horrible. They have to touch our knees. Same with shorts, which also we can only wear in the hot months. On spirit days we're only allowed wear jeans and shirt with the school logo. I hate uniforms, but ithey're useful at the same time.

We have to wear uniforms this year. I don't know what to expect, but it does mean I don't have to take so long picking out what to wear in the morning and it means I don't have to spend as much money on clothes. There are pro's and con's to both sides, but I don't mind uniforms. I'll just have to wait and see.

Well at my school we have to ware what they call it standardize dress. In other words means uniform, but have to ware red, white, and nave shirts ((collars and buttons)) and khaki or nave pants ((with belts/nets/ribbons, ya they let kids ware a ribbons as belts, weird.0.o))
But on Friday we do have free dress, well sort of, we have to ware a school spirit shirt ((it's a red shirt or gray with the words "Braves")) and jeans, still with a belt <_<
Right now only the middle schools ware uniforms ((and some elementary schools)), but in high school we are free! Unless they change it be for I get there...:bawl:

Where I live, we started wearing uniforms when I was in 4th grade, which was about...eight years ago, I'd say. I wore them from 4th grade to 8th grade, but when I got to high school, I didn't have to wear them.

It's pretty funny because, technically, my high school is classified as a uniform school. One of my teachers told me that when the school district tried to institute a uniform policy, many students simply chose not to wear them and were sent home. Of course, for every student that's gone, the school loses money. After that, the school stopped sending people home for uniform violations, and nobody at the school wears uniforms now.

Heh, that made me laugh so much ^_^

Well, I had to wear uniforms since I was in first grade, but now that I'm heading off to high school I don't have to wear them anymore. I'm so happy I think I'll run off and burn my old uniform ^^

...not really...I'm...just kidding...haha?

Yes, my school does. It's annoying, and we have to have certain shoes too, but you know, my converse which are all black, black gums, black laces beats the system because the gums on it look leathery, unless you go straight up to it, you can't really tell. I hate it though, it's so annoying, no un-tucked shirts either. Which sucks even more.:(

No, my whole district doesn't have to, thank god! It would be horrible to wear uniforms everyday, especially if they are ugly and smell like Blue Cheese. Long story.. Anyway, none of the schools in my city wear uniforms, except the private schools.

At my primary school, most kids did were them, but i dont think it was compulsory. They were light blue shirts and dark blue jumpers there. Then at my year 8 high school, it was compulsory to wear the uniform. At my year 9 high school, they have a uniform, but it is not enforced. You can wear what you want, but no midriff revealing tops. That mainly applies to girls i figure... They are either white navy or red, and have a ring around the collars that ir yellow and red.
