My school dose not do the uniforme thing though there has been talk about it. There are just way to many fights and people breaking the dress coad. I believe uniforms are just plane STUPID you would walk around parshally looking like others and no individuality! I mean whats the point? The schools think it is in our best intrest if they put it in to affect but I dont want to be a VEGATABLE doing what others do or say and dressing like the people I hate (preps)! I could not stand it! Most say the ideah is a good one but its plane !MAD!

What you are saying is illogical and you are assuming things. Wearing a uniform does not make you a vegetable. You may wear the same shirt and pants/shorts/skirt, but you still have your physical appearance and personality. A uniform also cuts down on competition with clothing articles (i.e. who dresses better.) I loved wearing a uniform. I did not have to think about what to wear in the morning and everyone else had basically the same thing on.

Saying you hate 'preps' is a barbarous thing to say. First, what is a 'prep'? It started off being used to describe people who went to private, college-prep schools. What happened? People who go to those types of schools are not all the same and are not different from anyone else. Why are people using 'prep' as a derogatory comment? They just like the clothes they wear. Wearing a uniform does not mean you are like 'those people' you choose to designate as 'preps.'

I go to a catholic school and so of course we have to wear uniforms. I'm not complaining though. They're really cute. Our school colors are blue/navy and white. There's actually also quite a big selection in the uniforms. For shirts, there's button-up tees and long-sleeved shirts, golf shirts, hoodies (in white, baby blue, and navy, no less), and one or two more I forget. And then there's pants, shorts, a skirt, AND.... the Official Catholic School-Girl Kilt!

As for there being "no individuality with uniforms," that's definitely the opposite at my school. We can have whatever shoes/boots we want. And accessorizing and make-up is totally up to us. I mean, I wear stuff like black pantyhose with striped knee-high socks (don't knock it 'til you've seen/tried it! X_x'), black leather buckle-up boots, various armwarmers, collars, and a coupe thousand studded braclets. And the teachers don't care. *ebil giggle*

Yes, I love my uniform too much. *slinks off*

[edit] I'm going to say this before Neil starts bugging me about it. YES, I will get a picture of the uniform! I'm just kind of lacking a digital camera at the moment. :sweat: [/edit]

My school wears iuniform. It's more like anime schoolgirl uniform that i wear. The skirt is up to your knees or shorter than that. And fir the top, must be a shirt with collar or something that looks more like Sakura's (Card Captor Sakura). But you don't need a hat like Sakura's. And for the boys, shirt must have a colar, and navy blue pants.

I had to wear school uniforms once. I hated it. Unlike the uniforms you see in anime mine looked nothing like them. Actually they looked bad.

What's even worse is that hardly anybody wore them and the ones who did where known as dorks.

Even though it was the school rule to wear them it was hardly ever inforced. The only reason why I wore them is because my mom made me.

I had to do a news paper article for a class project, so I did an opinion piece on school uniforms. I asked around the class and it turns out 50% of the guys don't care, 50% are against them, 50 percent of girls are against them, and 50% don't care as long as the have "cute, short skirts". Girls are so naive (but you gotta love 'em :laugh: ). So in conclusion uniforms might be alright, as long as we get to help choose what they will be.

I used to have to wear a uniform - until I got to sixth form. However, wherever you go in the UK things are different. First schoolers usually have to wear some kind of uniform (sometimes it's optional -aka- up to the parents). In Middle School and especially High School, they tighten things up, making them compulsary. And then, in sixth form it depends again on where you go. We have a dress code - no denim no leather no trainers etc etc. But apart from that, it's pretty loose. They just ask that you're presentable, and I can fully comprehend that.

Uniforms in schools are just like they are in the workplace. It identifies you as part of a whole, and lessens discrimination. Sure, we may not like wearing a school uniform, but you'd protest at having to do schoolwork if you hadn't been expected to do it before. I guess that means it's a matter of what you're used to. ;) In my school it seperates lower school from the sixth form. So I'd say uniforms have their uses. ^_^;;
