At my old school we did. Well ok last year I went to Saint Thomas Aquinas (Catholic schoo) we had to wear khaki pants with a white polo shirt. It wasn't bad at all actually. It made the place seem really clean. I actually liked the uniforms, I mean its odd I was one of those teenagers from public schools that would swear up and down that they did nothing for you, but it was actually cool having uniforms. I woulda stayed there except it was mucho dinero.

But yeah in my opinion uniforms *thumbs up*

My school district has been thinking it over and the compromise that was reached was that if we were gonna have uniforms the students would get to choose them. Turned out the teachers and PTA didnt totaly like what we picked ^_^ so i guess we won. I have to say i dont realy care cause i like wearing whatever i can that resembles some sort of cloths in anime but wearing uniforms would screw the social higherarchy up realy bad and that would be some great funn.

thank god i can say no. i never had a uniform other than work. but my school had enough problems wit gangs, fights, stabbings an they had a real problme wit gettin us to just show up. only thing we had to wear was out id cards around our neck on a chain. my high school was actually two in one so to differ the students, these genuises decided to make us wear our id cards on cheap chains. didnt go over very well with us so we never wore them unless we were dragged to the side an asked to pull'em out.

No, my school doesn't have uniforms. I don't think it's that bad of an idea, but I like wearing the clothes I feel like wearing. I agree that some of them look good. People say that if they had uniforms they couldn't express their style, but you can always do that with accesories. But I don't care, either way would be fine with me.

One of my teachers from grade school said that they shouldn't make us wear uniforms. She said they wanted us to wear them to make us all the same so then no one would say someone's clothes are better than someone else's. My teacher disagreed because she knew the kids would find some other to become better than one another, like with shoes and accesories.

You can say we wear uniform at my schhol but the principle says It is a strict dress code which it is we wear Khaki blue white and black I don't like it just because if you shirt isn't tucked in 24/7 you get yelled at here is an actual quote from my principal "I'm gonna need a 360 tuck" yes that was a quote from Geneey Jones and another reason I don't like it like my cloths and I don't want to be restricted to just polo shirts and pants with the same colors everyday I guess I like to express myself from my cloths.

Well I atend a private Catholic school so I have to wear uniformes but they're not as bad as you think, but the store we buy them from changed and they are now itchy and stiff as wood so I have to get mine at a place that sells similar ones and can replicate the school name.

I'll tell you what... I'll do your clothes shopping for you if you let me kick you in the crotch each time I do it. :p

Anyway, I'm homeschooled, so no, no uniforms. In fact, some days I won't even change out of my night clothes (boxers and light t-shirt) until after I get done with my school work. It's great; complete lazyness in regard to clothes. :toothy:

I don't get all this about making it so you don't have to decide what to wear each day, though. I mean, is it really that hard to decide what to wear? For me, I get up, I toss on some shorts/jeans and a t-shirt, maybe a hawaiian shirt/flannel shirt/sweatshirt over the t-shirt (these are depending on how hot/cold it is), my steel-toed boots, and that's it. I have a few different colors of t-shirts, but I mainly just seperate them into "light," "grey-ish," and "dark" piles in my drawer, and I usually just grab one at random. It's not that hard, lol.

my old school didn't have uniforms. My new one should bcuz they practically make you anyways. The dress code is absurd. But the parents said that their kids would rather die than wear uniforms. The uniforms are like, blue t-shirts and pants with the school logo on it. At least it has a logo! We're not allowed to wear any clothes
that have writing, pictures,or logos on them. And no shorts at all! Jeez that's so annoying.Go ahead and take away half my of my wardrobe!EVIL! I heard about the uniforms that my old school used to have and they were literally indistructable (well maybe not,I know you could at least BURN them.) *sighs* well, at least I get to wear shoes with logos.

My school has uniforms, oh man...
I live in Maryland and I go to Sudbrook Magnet Middle. It's a really high ranking middle school but I hate it.
Anyway, we wear a T-shirt that is gray, black, navy blue, blue, red, purple, yellow, and green that says the school on a right upper hand corner of the shirt. We wear long pants, shorts, or skorts that are navy blue, black, or khakis colored. We also have sweatshirts of navy-blue, blue, purple, red, gray, black, and green.
Advantage: Girls get to wear purses and wear really cool belts and nice earrings and platforms.
Disadvantage: Denim is NEVER allowed. You'll be sent straight to the guidance counceler (spl?)
We are having spirit week. My chance to wear denim and anything I want!
But I do not like school uniforms at all. I should have FREEDOM!

The school I went to 1st-6th I had to wear a uniform. It was a white collared shirt with the school symbol on it and khaki shorts/pants. The girls could wear plaid skirts. Everyone had to wear a belt though.

7th-9th grade I went to a school where we had to wear a collared shirt and tuck it in. We also had to wear a belt.

9th grade again: same deal as above

10th grade: The school I am at now is SUPER liberal. They let you wear what you want, even hats indoors.

(BTW, those were all private schools, in case that makes a difference)

Uniforms in schools:
From the mouths of mai 2 friends sitting next to me
April: "They suck"
Eldai: "Neutral"

Me: It don't matter. As long as they're not a weird color of green. I went to a Catholic School from Pre-K to 1st grade and the uniforms were okay. It was a white blouse with a blue plaid jumper or white blouse with navy blue shorts/skirt and a blue plaid tie. I didn't have a problem with them, although I wouldn't remember if I liked them or not cuz I can barely remember yesterday ^.^

Keh, well, let's see...I haven't been in high school for about five years. The job I had did require a uniform tho. Red shirt with yellow AVI logo and khaki pants with non-slip sole shoes (it smelled like cooking oil and other stuff by the end of the day):grumble:
However, when I went to a private Catholic school which required a uniform of either a blue plaid skirt or navy blue pants (which my brother wore holes in) and a light blue, light yellow, or white button down(up?) shirt. Us girls could not wear tights, but we did have to wear those knee high socks in either white or navy blue and black shoes. In the winter we could wear a navy blue cardigan with NH embroidered in yellow (NH was for Nazareth Hall). The boys had to wear blue ties.
The worst part tho was the gym uniform tho. We had these hideous mustard yellow shirts with the school crest in blue then the bright blue shorts with the school crest in yellow. DO you have any idea how scary that looks with knee high socks? ANd don't even get me started about trying to learn about paganism in a catholic school my junior year.
Damn, do I wish I had a uniform like Kagome's unfortunately mine wasn't even as cool as Momo's.

I have never had to wear a uniform in school. I don't think I would adjust well to forced wearing of a skirt/skort/feminine garment on a daily basis. Though it might improve my atrocious fashion sense, it would also have me crossdressing after about a week, which would defeat the entire purpose of having a gender-specifically uniformed student body. Catch-22, I suppose.

As long as I have had gym, I have had a gym uniform. I like gaving one, you know what you have to wear, you don't have to think about scrounging up shorts and shirts. It simplifies things.
