Well, I myself saw them put the flag into the moon. I don't get what the whole "Waving" crap is. It didn't wave. It jolted for a second. That's it! Besides, the flag was propped up by whires. It couldn't wave even if it tried to.

The reason why there is no blast crater is because they landed on pretty solid rock. They landed softly, due to the little gravity they had, they barely had to fire the engines at all.

The reason why there wasn't any dust on the lander is because there is nothing to cause the dust to stick to the lander. Also, when it took off, all that dust could have fallen off. This is definatly a new one, because I never heard someone say that there was dust on the rover, and never heard someone say that there wasn't.

The crosshairs are not dissapearing. If you look closely, you can actually see the crosshairs on it still. They just become hard to see against the glowing bright light of the moon.

In my opinion, it looks like the astronauts are hopping like bunnies. Also, if you play certain vidoes/songs backwards, you can hear subliminal messages...

Also, the sped up video can't explain how the Astronaut was able to hit a golf ball football fields far with only one hand, and the same speed that the ball travels on earth.

EDIT: The reason why you don't see MOST of the stars is obvious. Ever look at the moon in the night sky. See exactly how bright it is! Yeah, they were on that thing. The moon is actually glowing so brightly that they had to make a special camera to take the pictures with. I've seen a star in one of the pictures.

Just look at a busy city at night. You can only see the dippers, and maybe Venus, and the occasion other star, but nothing else. And if the city isn't glowing bright enough to be seen from a moon-distance away. The ground on those pictures is pratically glowing from the refliction of the sunlight on it. The light doesn't have to go through an atmosphere, so it is much more intense.

I have also seen a program about this, and I do admit, I did believe them when I first saw it. But now I believe it was real and that it did happen.

PS: The reason the moon is that bright is because of the reflection of the sun on the other side of the earth, from where you are, at night. Or so I have heard.

...Really now? I'm not surprised, the government does work in crappy ways. It was race to see who the super-power was to be, even it was a hoax, which it was and we really didn't go, they would do it, to scare the Russians and say that we were first.

I don't believe we went. We didn't, and that's the fact of the matter.

Personally, I don't care about it now. The fact is that we are able to go to the moon now. Now it is the race to land on Mars, or whatever they are doing with Mars.

Do you honestly think the US government could hide such a huge scam? It'd be nearly impossible. Russia had spies all over the US government and they would just love to show the world that the US faked it.

Jace, I would have to say that i think it did happen. The flag- they would of wanted it to be out, displaying its picture- they probably used wires to hold the ends out. Extra shadows- they would of set up lights to give a better picture. And besides, why would they send up a couple of million dollar space ship, to float around and then come back, claiming they had landed on the moon. Pretty pointless heh? SO i think it did happen, that men did land on the moon. Nice to see you back on OB though Jace.

Does anyone realize that the ship itself had lights on its exterior?

Does anyone understand how much modern technology is a result of both the moon landing and subsequent space missions (which themselves were made possible by the moon landing).

Put simply, it's too far-fetched to call the whole thing a hoax. That really borders on an insane conspiracy theory. There is too much technology, research and other evidence that has come about due to the moon landing program. Most of these claims about shadows and no stars...it's based on ignorance. Go and do some real research about the moon landing and its results before you go around saying it was a hoax. lol

Geesh. What a redundant topic.

At this point in time, I think the only people who would think the moon landing was a total hoax would be the same people who would actually thing "Bowling for Columbine" was a completely accurate and objective documentary. Basically people who believe any sort of news they can get which isn't what's generally spoon fed to them.

Check the "Are there REAL psychics?" thread for my opinions on that. And just for the record, it takes 30% of your brain working just to see.

The whole 10% of your brain is a totally misunderstood myth, that at this point is mostly upheld by psychics to try and explain their "powers". Somehow the remaining is peoples' full potential in their 90% subconscious mind. Whatever.

It doesn't help that so many things uphold this myth and don't even realize it. It's become like common sense to people thanks to television and everything else. It's simply not true.

I pity anyone here using only 10% of their brain power lol.

That's true. If you look at a diagram of the brain and you examine the areas that perform different functions...you soon realize that the 10% figure is something that really came from nowhere.

Gah. These conspiracy theory discussions always annoy me. ~_^

O.K. so some of my questions have been answered which i have found interesting just one more qeustion, if you can answer it i will be satisfied, if we landed once why oh why havnt we ever gone back?? this is our moon the thing we see in the sky why havnt we gone back to do more research on it??

If people remember back to last year, you may remember the Ravenstorture who hated Americans because of various, stupid little things that were enough of an excuse. And yes, I must admit there is a minority that are great, and a minority that aren't bad, but if I needed to pick a place to nuke it would be USA.
UNFORTUNATELY: I have just come back from year 11 retreat, and am therefore in a strangely loving, accepting mood. I used to hate about 99% of my year level, and after last night, it all changed. I won't go into it, but it was a very strange time that changed me, and therefore i'm sadly not in an american bashing mood.

BUT! I saw the conspiracy documentary too, and I was also convinced. Why? I need something to be paranoid about, it gives my life variety, keeps me on my toes. And I DO NOT TRUST THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT!!!!!!! Please note that any trying to convince me otherwise will be looked at, smirked at, and ignored - do not try to sell me your government. I don't care about how good it is, it doesn't matter how good it is, I will hate it anyway.

Now, this conspiracy thing, I don't care. Other matters on my mind. Let's just say that if it's proven it was a hoax, I'll be one of the "I told you so" people.

This question seems pretty obvious to me. It's a giant, white rock. What is there to research? And who would want to spend the money to go to a boring white rock when there's a much prettier red rock to explore? Also, if people really landed on the moon, then where are all of the aliens? (Don't even try to answer that question. I know that you are all Government A.I.'s programmed to test my mental stability and psychic capabilities.)

*thinks back to physics AS level*

To answer the stars question- they wouldn't have been seen because the photographic cells used by the TV camera wouldn't have been strong enough to pick up their light. The light-detecting cells can either be big to get more light or small to get more detail. Bearing in mind, reception on the moon isn't going to be great, and 1969 isn't the era of fantastic picture quality, they'd be more likely to want more detail to actually see the astronauts and what they're doing, so the stars' light wouldn't necessarily have been picked up by the photoreceptive cells.

Anyway, I think it happened. As has been said, it would seem pointless to mount a hoax that large when it would be just as easy to actually send those people to the moon in the first place.

And besides, how would they have been able to simulate the low gravity on the moon, aside from wires and things (which were not attached to the astronauts)? I guess it could have been underwater, but even then you'd be able to tell if it was, and it's doubtful that the equipment would be waterproof enough.

I think this is worth reading. It explains most everything brought up here in very simple terms. The same stuff has already been said here for the most part, but maybe people will actually read it because it has pretty pictures!!

Plus there are far more links on the subject there. It's strange how every hoax site harps on the same damn points over and over... while the sites thinking it is real have so many more tangible facts. You can disprove half the hoax ideas that go around near instantly it seems.

As Geist said, it's a big rock. We have gone there more than once, to take the flag down. We did studies, took samples and rocks. Did some math to find out the gravity. And that was it. We were then done. We now have satelites that we can send up there to orbit the moon, so no need for people to land on it many more. Also, it took an enourmous amount of money to go up there. That was before inflation and all that flared up so much as todays society. Now, it would cost a whole lot more to send up a person. And to do what? If you watch the videos, all the astronauts did up there after a few small things was play around.

We were also in a race against the Soviet union. That no longer exists, and America is pratically the most space-inclined country out there. We are sending up satelites all the time.

Also, it is dangerous as all get-out to go up there. Many things had gone wrong with many upon many attempts at launching a person into space, often ending in the deaths of the Astronauts. All that funding and training wasted. Sure, our technology is better than back then, but it is still dangerous. Since they don't want to unessicarily risk the lives of trained people. Yeah, sending up another person would stop a whole lot of the hoax claims. Or would it? How many people would say that that was fake? Countless! And to do what? Change the opinion of a few people who don't want to support the American government? For the cost of millions, it is sheerly pointless.

EDIT: Sounds like Ravenstorture just doesn't want to be proved wrong. Am I provoking an arguement? Yes!

Im not saying we havnt or have landed on the moon, frankly I couldnt care if we did or didn't because the moon is never going to help me, besides when I go to the beach :) (moon effects our tides and waves I think) , but I could see JFK doing all this because we had been loosing every space race to Russia. First satellite in space, first women, first animal, and I think first man. So the USA being the number one country and wall was taking huge pride blows. So I could see them faking it at that time to say we were on the moon first.

Also Russia did admit they used some scene recreation on Earth to make it look better.

Also im not positive if the our flag actually was swaying on the moon, but they did starch the flag.

Also back then would of been the perfect time to fake it, since they could justify using black and white cameras.

Maybe i was wrong about that 10% figure. Maybe I wasn't. It is merely the fact that i have heard it from several different sources, and took it at face value. But I personally will never find out which is which, in all likelihood. Our opinions can only be based upon the information given to us. Which brings me to another point: Just because you may know something that the other person doesn't, there is no need to make it sound like they have no idea what they are on about. Some people seem to be doing that to DevilzAdvocate, which is kinda unfair. I know I have done it too, sometimes, but it is easier to see it being done. I believe the landing did happen. SUre the Americans were losing face, but it is too unlikely that they would of spent all this money, and sent a shuttle up. Whilst filming it on the ground. How silly. And besides, unless they murdered all memers afterwards, someone would of spilled the beans. Everyone ois telling about scams from years ago now. But these theories about the moon hoax don't actually have anyone or proof, that was working on the site.

Really, things like this can be done now,but I don't think they could of done it then.

And now really think. How did we get all that info on the moon if we never been there??????Really, think about it.
You sound like that annoying lady on my little brothers show "Jay Jay the Jep Plane" She always says, "Think about it!"
But really, they DID have cardboard backgrounds back then, and they had pictures of the moon, so why not? they could hoax it
Dern you americans and yer hoaxin'!

Well, It would be awfully hard to hoax the astronaut hitting a golf ball a several football fields with one hand with cardboard backgrounds. It would also be hard to fake the fake gravity of them moving slowly, when the golf ball traveled at normal speed.

I swear, I dont think any of you have seen a movie. I think the US government EVEN in the 1960's could fake a golf ball flying that far. Also when you sign a confidentiallity with the US government, its probably in your best intresed to not tell, because ITS THE ******* US GOVERNMENT.

I know it seems like im fighting for the people that say we didnt land on the moon, but most of you people dont take time to think do you? You know we had technology then, its not like we just discoverd fire this past century.

Also Regen spent like around 60 billion on the spacewars project, I dont think launching a spaceship into space to just hoax something isnt a problem.
