I, Colossus
"And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine patrie, et fili [they cock their guns] et spiritu sancti." I watched this movie (per-request of a friend) two nights ago. It was awesome, one of the best action/comedy movies I've seen in a long time. It's the story of two Irish brothers liveing in an Irish community in Boston. They go around and kill mob bosses and other people, basically anyone who fits their deifinition as an "evil man". They are very religous though, they belive that God has sent them to do these things. Above is the prayer they say before they kill [some of] the people in the film. They also put pennies on the dead people's eyes, it has something to do with paying a toll to the afterlife. Even though the whole movie is about them killing differen't people, it can be funny as hell. Most of them when the brother or drunk or Willaim Dafoe as the
gay
detective. satan665
That is one really cool movie. It would have been so much more popular, but it happened to be about gun violence right about the time that one of the big school shooting happened. My friend Brian had seen it and wanted to buy a copy and it was nearly impossible to find (this was a couple of years ago) because the only place that sold it was blockbuster. It was like the movie was blacklisted or something. Its not even about kids shooting each other. The Irish are always angry, they should know to leave movies alone. Anyway the movie is great and the scene with the toilet is priceless. There really were some good shootout movies out around that time. Have you ever seen Ghostdog? I, Colossus
Ghostdog? Nope, I can't say I've heard of that. I might look into it if you would care to elaborate on what it is about. Yeah, Boondock Saints is an awesome movie. The funniest part for me was when
William Dafoe and his gay lover were in bed. And the guy says "I just wanted to cuddle" and Dafoe calls him a ***.
I love this movie.
Syk3
Oh man, I had almost forgotten about this movie. That's not to say it wasn't any good -- it's an awsome movie -- it's just that I had seen it back in January and forgot my plan to look for it on DVD somewhere. So yeah, I saw it at my cousin's house, but I had never even heard of it before I saw it. It was a lot better than I thought it would be, and in fact became one of my favorite movies to date. It has a nice blend of action and comedy, and if you don't mind the cussing and such, I reccommend this movie to everyone. My favorite part is when
the detective is trying to find out exactly what happened at that one house, and thought that there were about 10 guys that shot it up, when it was only that one dude.
Man, that was awsome.
And then the brother sealed up their wounds with that hot iron.
If you're wondering, it's a perfectly ordinary movie that could happen in real life I guess, but very unlikely. It's not like the Matrix or some fantasy.
The Harlequin
Yeah, it was a damn good movie. One of my favourite bits was right at the end of the movie,
where they show all those interview things, and that crazy guy is standing there yelling "where do I sign up?". I thought that was quite amusing. The other bit was where that dropkick police officer says "So what do we do, drag a potato along and see what shows up?", and the brothers walk in and tell him he'd have better luck with beer.
satan665
Hey if you're interested in Ghostdog..Its about a Hitman who strictly follows the code of the Bushido. It takes a little getting used to, but is a pretty cool movie. Forest whittaker is the lead, but even though he is tubby and goofy it really works. He works for this fairly low rent bunch of Italian gangsters, and his best friend is an ice cream man who only speaks french. It must sound pretty wacky but is actually a good and fairly serious movie. Not amazing but worth checking out.
Artemis
I saw The Boondock Saints a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was pretty good. (a bit graphic occassionally, but this is to be expected, no?) ;) Regardless, Sean Patrick Flannery was HOT!! You gotta love the Irish!!
duorocks17
Oh yeah! I saw this at a friends house a couple of weeks ago. I had never heard of it before, and thought that it would just be like all the other movies. Boy, was I suprised! I absolutely loved it!!! It was so awesome!! I'm really into the whole "protect your family" thing, I just loved how the brothers kept helping each other out. I'm not gonna explain, you'll just have to watch it. you'll know what i'm talking about!!! I would definatly recommend it!!!!
Pex
This was such a good movie. The first time I actually saw this was in school(don't ask it was like a half day), but I thought it was great once I saw it. It's just that it is so different from a lot movies out there. It has substance and if you look past the gore and violence, this is a very spiritual movie. But the action is good too^_^
W0lfw00d
This movie ROCKS!!! i saw it on my brothers computer. he had downloaded it and it was the NC 17 version, which has a lot more blood and violence. this movie is so cool, i hear theyre making a sequel called all saints day so hopefully itll come out soon.
